Thanks, Captain Obvious.. there is no way in hell that SR4 or WD will be more popular than V. Absolutely not. Even non-GTA fans have to admit it.

 

I mean.. just compare the sales (as well as popularity) of IV with other similar open worlds like JC2, SR2 or 3, Sleeping Dogs, Mafia 2, etc..

 

The only game that "competes" with GTA V is the next Call of Duty.

Saint's Row franchise doesn't excite people nowhere near as much as GTA does.

 

And Watch Dogs in a one trick pony so far. While it does seem to have a good melee combat system, the rest of the game doesn't seem to stand above GTA so of course GTA is more popular.

SR4 is a joke, an overpriced DLC. WD looks interesting but I still haven't seen anything that would convince me that it's on-par or even close to what GTA V has to offer.

Saints Row 4, yeah that conversation doesn't even need to begin. WD stands a chance of maybe equaling GTA, or being a little worse, I do think WD will be good, but you can't really compare it to GTA V as there really different sort of games.

 

There is nothing like GTA V hence it doesn't even need to be asked.

It will definitely "smash them all" in terms of sales, there's really no question about that. But "best game ever"? That's definitely a bit fanboy-ish.

Great idea asking this on a GTA forum. I know there are people on here who think of Watch Dogs as a GTA killer even though this time last year then never even knew it existed or have even played the game...but don't you think You'll get a load of biased answers?

 

Even if you asked this on a general gaming site... GTA would still win. It's a classic world famous pop culture game. What is watch dogs? it looks interesting but it will probably be buggy as sh*t and this time next year you'll be hearing about Watch Dogs 2 (if it is successful) then Watch Dogs 3...4....5. The series will be old and stale by the time GTA VI is out an people will still be excited about a new GTA game. It's been here for over 15 years now and still going strong.

Just asking ur opinion u don't have to say o " captain obvious Dur" I know gta 5 will kill the market but other people thought games like sr4 will kill gta5 and basically sr went retarded after 2 at least one and two had a good enough story line and not retarded cramed into stupid pie like sr3 did and soon to come sr4 so if u will I don't need thecments on this topic like captain obvious or ur asking this on a gta forums website wat u the answer be just vote

I don't think there is another game that quite prompts the excitement at the unveiling of the game cover, as GTA does. Watchdog is a new IP (although it looks like it will be a brilliant one) and SR has always been in GTA's shadow - it was inspired by the revolutionary GTA 3. There is no other game that prompts quite the excitement as the GTA series. It's taken years and years of quality for Rockstar to create such an explosive series - it's something that can't be replicated on the fly. My girlfriend doesn't play videogames 90% of the time, and yet she can't wait till September - the only game she plays is GTA. I know many other people like her. It just resonates with so many people, whether you like causing rampage in the streets and engaging in the side activities like my girlfriend or whether you love the storyline and the characters like me.

 

NOTE: I DO love rampages and side activities!
