GTA Fiend Posted May 28, 2013 Share Posted May 28, 2013 With 3 version of the game being released on PS3 & 360, I wonder if owners of the Standard Edition will be able to connect to Limited & Special Edition players online? Does anyone know if GTA IV Original Disc owners are able to connect online with those who bought The Complete Edition or those who downloaded it from PSN? But it seems like they have assigned separate servers for each version. It makes it seem like less people are playing. I hate entering Free Mode with only 3 or 4 other players. Once there comes a point when DLC would make things incompatible, a patch gets released to make everything work together without having to buy the DLC, meaning people can see the DLC items in question but not use them. That would be fine. I realize we probably won't be able to answer this until release and that Rockstar has learned a lot since their first attempt at a Multiplayer. Either no DLC = car won't start with you in driver's seat or perhaps you just can't save it. You can drive it if someone in the game with you let's you have theirs...but it won't be there the next time you join a MP game...unless someone else let's you borrow theirs. And on cod bo2 i could steal the peace keeper dlc gun off ppl by killing them and taking it even though i didnt have the dlc. It will be on one server. This. I remember being able to kill someone with a Tomahawk and getting it even though i didnt have the DLC at the time.
