What I would love better is if you can play as 1 protagonist, but have 2 other people online controlling the other protagonists. It would be a choice! You can still play alone if you like..But if you want people to join your match to play as the other characters, you can. That way you can free roam together and complete the story together. If one protagonist starts a mission that requires all three characters, the other players have to agree to it. The only conflict I can see is, should the player use their own character data..(Most likely) or the Host's player data. It also adds another question..If the other characters live their life when you control another, will the others use up your money for food, clothes etc..without your knowledge . Imagine saving up $100,000 for Trevor, and going to play as Michael.. and when you come back..You noticed the money is almost gone..and your like "DUDE TREVOR WTF!? WHAT DID YOU USE $100,000 for?? ChatterBoxFM Posted May 27, 2013 Share Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) (did not read most of thread, but) my theory: the other characters disappear and reappear when switching (apparently it takes a few seconds to switch, leaving me to believe they load/reappear a distance from the rest of the characters) OR they get sent to the hospital for a few min. making them and certain missions that require all (or the hospitalized) characters to be unavailable until they recuperate. Nemesis2252 Posted May 27, 2013 Share Posted May 27, 2013 you will respawn at a hospital just like in other GTA games. however, if you are on a mission and you die, you will reload the last checkpoint. the mission respawn checkpoint was confirmed in the may 2nd (i think that was the date?) previews to the press. the hospital think is just common knowlege. If you die playing as one character you go back to the last save/checkpoint. I don't think characters will be dying while your not controlling them (in free roam).
