Day of Release

Just curious to see how many ppl are skipping out on life for Sept 17th and enjoying a GTA binge for hours on end.

 

I've already put in my notice and as far as work is concerned, I have "family" arriving on that day and am showing them around the city. They approved and I'm already stoked about 1 full day of not caring about the real world

 

Anyone else put in advance notice or are you just going to wing it come Sep 17th?

 

Plus, who's got the best Inaugural GTA V Day planned? (winner gets a cookie)

I'm just going to take a few days off and play as much as I can. My lady understands this will be happening, she's totally supportive.

I actually return to college a week or so before V releases, but I'll definitely be up to date in advanced with all relevant work completed so I don't fall behind too badly. A few days off will be nice, cantthink of a good reason though

Well once I'm done with more important stuff in my life, that's when i will play Gta V. (Though i will pop it in my ps3 on day 1, but won't play much.)

Work from 23.00 on the 16th of September - 01.00 of 17th Of September.

Grab my Collectors Edition, start screaming. Sprint home as fast as I can, adrenaline RUSH. Run past people thinking I'm crazy, get home and unbox the package quickly. Post some random sh*t on the fourms, start the game. Play until I can't stay awake no more.

Props to all the die-hards that are calling in sick, etc. the day of. I understand not all can get off early on the 17th and for those that just can't get the time off, we promise not to reveal too many spoilers. But please, for the love of GTA, get your copy by the weekend at the latest and start vegetating like the rest of us asap!

 

@Knuckles. Sounds like you got a good deal there. Kind of have the same thing here except I've convinced my girl that GTA is awesome and she's calling in sick that day to to join in haha. That is going to be one magical f***ing day

I'm self employed, and typically I like to avoid working on weekends and bank holidays, but in recent weeks I have been working weekends & bank holidays in order to move work forward as I've booked a France holiday at the last minute, so I had to free up that time. I'm thinking I'll do the same once I get back to free up the time for V.

Oh btw, OT: once it FINALLY arrives for pc... Actually, I can't think that far into the future... Almost a year... Unless, it arrives this December , when I'm on holiday, then I can play non-stop until mid January, 24/7!!!

Sept. 17 i take 2days off work and i am going to set up my camping tent

(2seconds tent quecha) in the livingroom right in front of the tv.

That night i am going to be camping in my own living room while playing gta v and looking for a camper to drive through the countryside or to explore mnt chilliad.

My girlfriend totally understands it is GTAv she followed the whole gtav thing with me from oct 2011 till now

Lol, love the fact that a lot of us have jobs, school, work, gf's, etc who are already well aware of what 9/17/13 signifies and they are all supportive of our decisions to block out the world and vegetate for several hours. just shows you that we still have ppl who care in our lives lol.

 

As for the mentioning of someone giving spoilers....The second the game comes out I'm staying off the forums unitl I've atleast gone through story mode, etc once. The only thing I regret in the last couple of GTA's was either seeing a mission surprise/clip on youtube as well as hidden secrets. This time I want to go out looking for them myself and be one of the contributors that LOCATES the easter eggs rather than finding it after someone else

College doesn't start until a week after the release so I will have a full week to play the game.
