Having the toughest luck getting a group together to take down Skolas today, never attempted PoE before except for the level 28 one... so the jump to level 35 was strange but still felt doable (and it was), sadly the leader of the fireteam kept dying on wave 2 of round 2 and after 3 wipes ended up calling it a day.

 

Is this thread mainly XB1 guys? I knew I should have gone after that Year 1 emblem the minute they announced it instead of waiting until the last 4 days.

 

On the bright side, I tried out the new Armsday feature and it's extremely fun.. love the fact that some of the weapons challenge you to use them in the Crucible though that means I might get games where my teammates are mainly standing still trying to snipe people across the map.

Defeated Crota today on Hard, literally was an easier process than on normal mode; it was also my first time ever trying to beat the bastard on Hard since release.

 

Tried out Skolas for the first time as well and died 20 times enough to piss off my fireteam throughout the entire game, died twice during the final boss and we got him to around 50% health before the mines started popping up and that's when the team gave up and decided to get off.

 

With less than 3 days remaining to get the emblem, I might as well give up.

That's exactly where I got my Crota team, and there's also LFG.

 

Sadly I'm not the only one in the world that's deciding to go for the emblem on the last few days, so those guys have their hands full and I've been very busy the last 7 weeks or so that I'd be lucky to even have 2 hours of playtime a day.

 

I heard people that bought the game the first week it launched will also get it, which counts me out as well... so I might just have to put my pants up and pretend it doesn't bother me.

Bungie also added a cool new feature today where they make a quick little trailer about your character (you get to select which one, gives you a rundown of your stats and where you rank in the world)

Also decided to go ahead and pre-order the expansion right now since there's no doubt I'll be all over this game once again.. the kiosks they added alone in 2.0 are enough for me to put more hours into the game, gotta collect 'em all.

That's pretty cool. Although mine was blank, just gave my Gamertag, no stats. LOL! I havent even attempted any raids though, haven't had the time (or patience) really. But being a 34 now it shouldn't be too bad right? How long would it take 2 level 34s to do vault of glass?

How long would it take 2 level 34s to do vault of glass?

 

If you mean 2 players doing it. Probably like 45 mins or so. Though the Gatekeeper and Atheon can be tricky with just 2 people.

 

If you mean a 34 in a group of players it can take 20 - 30 mins, depending on the team.

 

Obviously it'll be quicker on Normal mode, rather than Hard.

 

 

I pre-ordered the Legendary Edition and it should be coming tomorrow, hope it does. I'll be out most of the day, so hoping it'll be there when I arrive home. But... then I got to install the game. Urgh.

VIP rewards are available right now, but if you have them in your inventory when you accept the Veterans' Tour quest tomorrow it will glitch out. So hold off on retrieving them. If you have already, just dismantle them until you do the quest.

Barely got any sleep last night waiting for the update, finally finished it up in about 3 hours.. big help thanks to the huge stack of completed bounties I had saved up all week to turn in today; got me from 34 to 38 in a matter of seconds.

 

Love the new Titan subclass though I've barely used it so far, really glad that Bungie made the expansion easier to get into by giving you more quests even after you finish the DLC's storyline including the new Strikes and all. Only bummer is that my old armor and weapons were useless from the minute I started the first mission, I'm now at 218 light and level 40 and will be trying out the new Strike playlists tonight.

 

Edit - Tried them out and holy sh*t, the new strikes feel like actual mini-raids for once.. as in they're taking a lot of time to finish (even if you manage to keep speeding up on the objectives) and the older strikes now have new enemies as well; I.E I tried out the moon strike from the 2nd expansion and you get ambushed by the Taken King enemies instead.

 

+1 to Bungie for adding streaks on Strike playlists now, the longer you play without going back to the Orbit; the higher rep you earn and the higher chances of dropping legendary gear.

Speaking of which.... legendary marks look like they're going to be a pain to grind.

 

Edit 2 - Rift... my new favorite game mode in the Crucible, never get tired of dunking on the enemies base.

I'm pretty sure my game got corrupt.

 

I was doing the previous DLCs to get ready for Taken King. I haven't touched the Taken King yet but now it seems to want to have me replay the story...out of no where. All the way down to the crappy rewards...even having to do the cinimatics of talking to "The Speaker" and then getting sent over to the gun guy for my reward of a crappy level 4 gun or whatever.

 

I'm a bit concerned. I kind of wanted to have everything as close to wrapped up as possible before starting the new DLC.

TTK install is fine. I switched gears and just went to playing TTK instead of my plan of clearing the previous 2 docs.

 

What it looks like is...the previous 2 DOCs are missing from my game and sh*t got all confused.

Sadly I'm rocking the PS4 version of the game and I think only one person that's active in this thread has the PS4 version as well... might have to go check around LFG or so and get lucky with a group that doesn't get too serious.

 

Another thing I'm missing is beating the 'Prison Of Elders' on Hard, I'm assuming that's part of the DLC that came out recently which I've only done the story missions and haven't done the survival modes yet.

I'm also hearing that it's extremely difficult to defeat Skolas. 13 days to make this happen.

 

Bleh. I just got a PS4, just getting into Destiny now.

 

So yeah, I'm still figuring out the in's and out's, but you're not alone.

Got the Taikonaut helmet for my Titan! So awesome! I love lore-based stuff, and this helmet is the pinnacle of lore gear. It is the same helmet the Chinese astronauts used when they discovered the Traveler on Mars (refer to the first cutscene in the game).

Tried that "Three of Coins" exotic exploit by buying about 15 of them and ended up with just 2 exotic drops which just gave me "Chest of Alpha Lupi Year 2" (which was then replaced by some legendary chest armor less than an hour later with better light stats) and "Don't Touch Me" which are exotic gauntlets for Hunters... hooray

 

I am now sitting on 285 light and have yet to try out Nightfall or the new Raid.

Those Three of Coins chomped through so many of my Coins... I got the new Hunter arms and helmets, Don't Touch Me's, Alpha Lupi, Monte Carlo and Invective. This Tuesday, I'll be getting the Chaperone after rolling through that quest, which was just a sh*tshow.

I've been farming that boss for a couple of days. I had a run on my whorelock this morning that paid out 8 exotics for 13 spins before I ballsed it up and lost the streak when starting over. It's been averaging an exotic about every 4 kills. I've had lots of dupes but have most of the new stuff for all my chars now. Just got this on the last run.

Been grinding nonstop strikes since this afternoon and I've only gone up by 3 on my light.. 293 now.

Finally tried out my first Year 2 Nightfall and one of my teammates got "The Last Word" while I just got a sh*tty legendary rifle which I dismantled right away since I don't want to replace my beautiful Tuonela SR4 (the gun's ammo is shown on the left side of the gun as some kind of liquid, f*cking sick)

Everyone's been talking about it today, for some reason I haven't even gotten the quest yet despite beating TTK on launch.. there's speculation that you have to be Crucible rank 3 to get it to pop is that correct? I play crucible probably 10 times a month tops so it looks like I'll have to do a long grind.

 

In other news I am now light 295, the jump from 290 to 300 so far feels exactly the same as getting to 32 back in Year 1. Planning on starting the raid for the first time ever this weekend but not sure if I should do it blindly since I don't have time to sit around for 3+ hours trying to figure it out with others who are also doing it blind.

 

Also Court of Oryx has become my new favorite thing to do aside from spamming Strikes, I can seriously spend all day playing it assuming that I'm always running into fireteams doing it also.
