Will we get screenshots like this?

So I was just looking through all the screenshots that were released for IV. I didn't follow the game before release back then. I wanted to compare how it looked in the screenshots to what it actually looked like when playing.

 

Anyway, I came across this screenshot:

Was this officially released by Rockstar before the game came out? If it was then do you think we'll get some screenshots showing the HUD? I didn't think Rockstar released screenshots like this but I hope we will get some for V.

Yes it was released by Rocksar. I think it was near release (one of the last screenshot batches) and it seemed kind of odd at the time too :-)

That looks pretty bad and not as good as the IV release. Looking at the screens we've had I'll be pretty happy with the same standard or better.

I think the first time we saw IV's HUD was in the OXM review a few weeks before release. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I think it will be the same with V.

It would be interesting to compare pre release side by side released screen shots of IV and V to try to gauge how much the quality of game graphics have improved from one to the other. Even though all the screens are touched up I think we might still be able to get an idea of how many steps forward they have come between the two games...and yes, I think we'll get some with a pic of the hud but only very very close to release

Maybe it's just my memory but I don't think IV looked as good as it did in the screenshots. They are obviously edited and so are V's but IV's do look like the game but they are more clearly and smoother than what the game is. This gives me some hope that V looks somewhat like the screenshots.

Screenshots are really touched up a lot. Of course some aren't.. But it's just like IV imo.

Consoles aren't that bad........ pretty sure whoever was recording this walkthough was doing it with a toaster.

 

I have IV on consoles and there was no blur, and the colours were sharper.

We won't see a screenshot like that until Rockstar finalise the HUD, which is usually one of the last things done.

Looks so bad to my standards, especially after IV on PC. Don't know about anyone else, but for me V may as well not exist until it releases on PC, I know it can't look much better than that, even if it's more detail, better art, it's still going to suffer from what we see in that screenshot, there just aren't enough pixels or power on the screen to do any better I guess.

Actually if you look closely you'll see that in the trailer it's at dusk while in the screenshot it's at night with what seems like car headlight shining at him. Considering how stunning the night lighting has been in all of the materials he have so far, it's not a stretch to think the real game will look that good.

Damn, San Andreas was, in my opinion, among the ugliest games at the time it was released as there were many games that were released before SA (Half Life 2 comes to mind) that had all the new graphical advances and all that. And SA was all low poly and whatever. And we still play it, so guess what, graphics don't meant nothing in the long run.

It's more so the fact that once you experience the graphically advanced versions of most games and get used to that standard of graphic fidelity, it's hard to go back.

I don't think all these kid complaining about graphics are just PC games here, there's certainly a lot of console freaks who complain. Though 'high class'' PC gamers are certainly number 1 graphic whores in this world.

I find funny that you call someone that chose a platform because it have better capabilities and visuals and more advanced then the outdated hardware placed in some plastic boxes 8 years ago "Graphic Whores", when most of the current console owners are already drolling about the new Gen Consoles... In my country that have another name and it's envy.

 

You chose the platform that you chose because that was what you liked or what you could get, others make their choices and if you are mature enough you should respect that.

 

You don't go out and call a rich man names just because he could and he bought a Ferrari, while you could only bought a Fiat. So respect if you want to be respected. Most of the PC Gamers even those with low end machines are used to graphics way better then the ones seen in those consoles, so it's normal that they want to have something that suits their choice/ investment, even if you don't understand that it sucks for us that the games lost quality in the last years because of getting stuck by the limitations of your ancient hardware.

It wasn't released by Rockstar, but it did some out before release. The day before. It's a screengrab by either IGN or GameSpy.

Bit of an extreme comparison. Besides, he's talking about gameplay - gameplay would of course be very limited, so the PS1 thing just negates his whole point.
