Whats the point of scopes?

as it says, what is the point of scopes and different sights when your playing in 3rd person mode?

your doing the aiming via 3rd person so i cant see it making any difference other than looks

Accuracy. It helps.

 

Maybe you don't know that you can zoom in while aiming by pressing the right stick (360, PS3).

 

And, yeah. It helps for headshots.

And then there are snipers of course.. where you look through it in first person. In the Michael trailer we saw a short scene about that. So I guess that there are different types of scopes. Some maybe can zoom more than others, some are included with more lines, dots or whatever they are called (for more accuracy)

my apologies then i just thought it would be over the shoulder shooting like all the other GTA games, so pressing R3 or whatever zooms you in to 1st person mode on any scope?? or iron sight?

and no it wasn't you have never been able to zoom into first person down a scope accept the sniper.

your info i did the guy picked up a scoped weapon and guess what not once did he have a down the scope view! it was all over the shoulder

Incidentally, jonp, in Max Payne 3 you could switch off the Scope for a scoped weapon (by pressing Back I believe) and it would return to that sort of Zoomed Iron Sights instead

Well, in SA you actually zoom in a bit behind CJ's head with the AK and M4 to see what he is seeing.

I think you need to look at your attitude a bit as well. Sure the twat who automatically said "Play max payne 3" should have been aborted, but your response to that was hardly sensible.

 

This forum requires a very thick skin, and a serious sense of humour. Neither of which you seem to possess.
