S1LV3R_W0LF
GTAIV failed to boost MS and SONY consoles to sell and wasted millions, GTA V as New Gen Consoles launch title will boost sales like a rocket. I said it plenty of times I believe the PC version is being developed along side consoles (reason there is no lead platform this time) and it's already being ported from it to be a launch title. I can be wrong but if Rockstar is a smart business company thats what is gonna happen.
Durden
I like to regard the next-gen versions of GTAV similar to the PC version in 2 ways: 1. They'll be announced & released at the same time as one another. 2. They will be very similar if not identical in performance.
wwinterj
I know it will be ported eventually, but when? Honestly I doubt it ever will be. I've always thought this and so no reason for R* to port it to next gen consoles. The time, effort, resources and money could be spent making a completely new game. I'd rather R* bring out Red Dead Redemption 2 for example as there first next gen title. Maybe on a new engine. By that time the next gen console fan base will be much bigger and thus worth it. For next gen owners at best I think GTA V will be avaible to download digitally with nothing changed. As for the PC I think that's a given that there will be a PC version at some point. This is R* swan song for the current generation. Edited May 28, 2013 by wwinterj

Kahdir
I predict there will be an expansion pack for the PS3 & XBox 360 next summer and then the next gen consoles will receive a full boat edition (main game w/ expansion packs). I also predict PS4 & XBox1 will sell a couple million units each for the holidays, so some people will have them

Dan001
GTAV will most likely be: 1) Ported to the PS4 (via marketplace) with no graphical improvement - except, maybe, a slight visual improvement. 2) Brought to the PS4 with a dramatic graphical improvement with graphics seen like those in earlier GTAV screen shots. 3)Not released for PS4 whatsoever. One of these HAS to happen.

saintsrow
I think the launch titles on XO and PS4 will be whatever is on Hulu and Netflix that day. They are just set top boxes made by former gaming platform companies. OT: I assume that eventually the GTAV GOTY will be released for next gen and I will happily buy it at that time. FutoDriver
There simply won't be enough of a user base for Rockstar to bother porting it to the new consoles (I ain't going to call them next-gen pfft). Time is money, and they could be prepping their new game engine rather than messing about on such a small project. Honestly they know if you love your GTA you going to be playing it on the older consoles (just like San Andreas).

One of these HAS to happen. Either no. 1 or (what I believe is more likely) 3. I would kinda be annoyed if they did considering if I only just got GTA V for PS3 and then suddenly 'GTA V for PS4 and Xbox One.' By doing so, it would make r* look as bad as EA, and everyone hates EA. And plus it would barely help with sales, I mean if I only got GTA V for ps3, I'm not going to buy the same game only a couple of months after release. Generally it would be a bad idea for R* to go ahead with.

No physical copy though and the digital version on Xbox live came years latter. My guess is we get a similar port to next gen to (in a couple of years) especially with Gaikai integration in the PS4
Snoochie_Boochies
Apparently never. https://twitter.com/GamesOnly_AT/status/338032731743211520 (translate to "GTA 5 won't be released to PS4 & Xbox One") Gamesonly (an austrian online retailer for videogames) also leaked the Special Edition (with its contents) before it was officialy announced. That would be a disaster for the gaming community. People will play GTA V for like 1 or 2 months on PS3 or Xbox 360 (GTA V is meant to be played for years). In november-december next gen will release their products and everybody will buy a PS4 and xbox one with no GTA V??? That would not make any sense. I just cant imagine Rockstar be such dumb not to make next gen GTA V's. Because it will totally destroy their sales ( A lot of people dont buy GTA V for PS3 or xbox because its so close to next gen release dates, they prefer to wait for the new consoles) Do you think that everyone who owns a PS3 or Xbox 360 right now bought their units when those consoles first came out? Go look up the sales of the xbox 360 within the first 6 months of its release, then compare it to how many units have sold so far. When the 360 and ps3 consoles came out, i was the first one out of all my gamer friends to get one, and i didn't get one til the fall of 2007, about 2 years after they came out. The market at the release of a new console isn't as large as everyone thinks. That's why most games releasing for the X1 and Ps4 next year are also coming out on the current gen, because they realize that's the only way to get a good profit. And the ones that are releasing as an exclusive are usually games developed in partnership with Microsoft and Sony to show off the fancy new hardware. GTA V may be released as a port for the new consoles later on, but they won't do that for at least a year (see San Andreas). They know that the transition to next gen will be slow, especially with this economy. I know i'm not shelling out 500 bucks for a new cable box that has a video game app, and neither are about 80% of gamers, at least not for a few months. R* knows what they are doing, and they know the amount of people who own a 360 or ps3 will be far larger than those who exclusively own the next gen for at least a year. Just look at history: did they quit releasing xbox games after the 360 came out? same for the ps2 and 3. hell, i can still buy ps2 games if i want to (and i do, regularly)
tenpennyisplainevil
It seems that you're under the impression that porting a PS3 game to PS4 takes 15 minutes. It doesn't. All we can hope is for XBOX One and PS4 to be backwards compatible, which is unlikely with the money-hungry mentality these days...
jamieleng
My theory on this is that it will never be on PS4/XBOX One. They probably would have announced that earlier. The way I feel about the next generation of consoles, with Microsoft's being the most depressing at the moment (still a chance Sony will try to fvck consumers too). I don't care whether it gets ported to them.
OliRow
I think it'll be ported eventually, sometime in 2014 maybe. If they were to announce it to be releasing on the next gen consoles now, people would wait and not buy it for the current gen consoles, it'd lose money. I think they'll release it on current gen and then after the next gen consoles release, announce that it'll be coming to the consoles in like Summer 2014. I don't care whether it gets ported to them. I agree. I've no plans at all to buy a next gen console for at least a year or so after launch for many reasons. Until then I've no interest. I'll be keeping my current gen consoles no matter what way it works out anyway and any games that are cross platform I'll buy on current gen consoles unless the game is drastically different(Watch Dogs, AC 4 and so on). This time round I don't feel the need to rush out and buy a new console day one.

Jokunen
First of all before anyone says the classic "they haven't annonuced it, so no it will not be in next-gen consoles. It's released 17th of september for xbox360 & ps3" - type of people your argument is not valid. If this was the case then you could say bye bye to your pc-version too. Second thing is that PS4 & Xbox One are releasing world wide 2013 (probably near the christmas) that means GTA V would be sold about 2-3 months before the "next-gen wave" . Yes not everyone is going to buy it day one, but there is a solid palyerbase after about 1month atleast. I mean even if the console sold 1-2 million units worldwide there would still be enough palyers because the amount of online games itself would be quite small at the beginning. Xbox 360 for example sold 300,000 copies in Europe and there were more buyers than they could sell the console. This time if one of the next-gens sell about 350,000 units in christmas the player base would be fine for europeans. Also GTA V would have huge amount more life spand IF it was to realeased on the next-gen consoles. Plus if rockstar/sony/microsoft would create a bundle pack with the GTA V + console it would be very smart move financially. After about year the could sell GOTY edition of the game for next-gen and then keep adding few dlc's or something. GTA IV is still palyed and it released on 2008, so GTA V probably last atleast till 2018. Will it be on next-gen I or anyone else (except R*) don't know, but it would be more than smart to do so. PS. The San Andreas "reason" for GTA V for not being ported is just stupid. The leap from ps2 to ps3 was huge and the equipment were totally new and complex. Now the next-gen consoles are just compact high-endish pc's.
Leafy Hollow
It's not going to happen. PS4 and XBOX1 both aren't backwards compatible so they would basically have to port the whole game to run on a different system which would take a while. Doesn't mean it won't happen down the road, after all it's all about money.

I dont care if it does or not, as i'm not going to give Microsoft or sony 3 or 4 of my paychecks just so i can see V in sharper Graphics, plus upgrade my internet service so i can play the damn game for more than 20 minutes before my connection drops.
