4x Street Object Draw Distance

Just a simple mod which takes the most commonly found objects around Liberty City and multiplies their view distances by 4. It also doubles the draw distance of light coronas. This makes navigating a slightly more dense and immerse experience, especially on HD monitors with high resolutions.

 

Installation is simple. Just drag the generic.ide from the zip file and drop it into "GTAIII\data\maps". Launch the game and enjoy!

Haha! biggrin.gif One of the many mods I've started a while ago, but since I'm lazy as f*ck, I didn't finish it.

Excuse me for bumping this thread.

No one said this so I need to, there's a bug with this mod.
This increases the distance for the Firetruck's water spray, making the Fire Fighter missions near impossible with the stream stretching very far instead of landing on the ground close by.

I recommend creating a backup of the generic.ide file before applying this mod so you don't have to reinstall like me.

Overall it's a great mod though. The pedestrian spawns are much less noticeable.

Pretty strange bug. I'm not sure what would cause it. Can anyone else confirm?

 

Also cool to still see people use this. I thought people would have made the jump to 2DFX by now :lol:
