I'm neutral.. calling them superpowers is overblowing it anyways. The different skills are probably gonna be subtle like in SA and the special abilities seem fun to toy with but not real gamechangers.

super powers is exactly what they are

calling them "special abilities" is underblowing it

semantics.. doesn't change my opinion.

Superpower is like flying, freezing, and etc.. This isn't superpowers. This is using their skills to their FULL advantage.

special ability = driving real well, shooting real well, flying real well. super power = altering time and becoming less vulnerable with super strength.....

I wonder if it'll end up being drugs or something you have to take

Well, the latter slow-mo and damage modifiers are a representation of the former things. Just like an amusement park-sized city represents a gigantic metropolis.

It's not like that would make it any more realistic. It's just perception.

Michael is really good at shooting so he can shoot better and has better reaction time with guns.

Franklin is really good at driving so he can drive better and has better reaction time with cars

Trevor does drugs ( I assume ) and there are drugs out there that make you crazy and make you feel less pain.

So all of these are realistic in their own way.

like I was saying, making them have better stats at driving, shooting, and flying would be special abilities

nobody has spidersenses in real life

(before I get trolled: im not asking for pure realism. im debating the fact that they have super powers)

I like the idea of them each having their own special abilities. They aren't super powers per say, just something to further differentiate each character from one another even more, makes them each just that much more unique imo. Of course this all depends on how they implement the sh*t but you catch my drift.

I don't care, they sound cool. Trevor's ability seems really sh*tty compared to the other two though.

I agree about the implementing. I don't care they have them. I just don't want to be forced to use them

as for them not being super powers... am I the only one who thinks that altering time and half invulnerability are super powers????? lol

Watch this:

Now lets look at Both Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption:

Red Dead Redemption:

Max Payne 3:

So how again do they look like superpower if you compare them to Saints Row IV?

I hate how everyone has to compare to that game

But that isn't the point. You say having those special abilities is like superpower. So look at Saints Row IV. They do have superpowers then look at both Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. They have a unique skill.

I love how those comparisons stop as soon as people get their hands on SR and play it.. hehe

I think all the special ability thing just doesnt fit in GTA.

IT just looks like some gimmick sh*t they threw it in the game in the last moment...

I never or try to avoid limit of use of cheats/special power/boost/hacks etc while playing games. I always want to play game fair and square. I don't get it why people are so excited for this addition or as for fact anything where you need to use external help to complete the specific task.

IT just looks like some gimmick sh*t they threw it in the game in the last moment...

imo its too "modern gaming style"

making it too easy. not really needing skill, one button kills/cinematic kills.

not that im saying gtav is going to be like that but its similar

You don't understand that it adds to replay value. Go play RDR and only use Dead eye when the game makes use. When that's over its all up to you if you want to use Dead eye or not. Same concept goes to Max Payne 3.

I have RDR and I never used it (except when it was taught)

I did use bullettime in the first 2 max paynes (don't have 3) but to be honest it was because it was from painkillers (consumables)

I think it's a good way to encourage playing as a character you don't play as often as you do your favorite, depending on the situation.

adrenalin actually.

this ability to slow time was also in older GTA's where it was presented as drugs.

icon14.gif Exactly.

Every shootout in MP and RDR felt unique, it was far more interesting than blindfiring from behind a chest high wall. Same for driving and cop chases. I don't really know about Trevor though.

I guess it really just comes down to preference of play style. I like to play fair and build my skills(no offense to those who use it)

How is using these things not fair? You could of said I like to play more realistically then I can understand that but this is fair. Its put in the game for us to use at any time. I like to have fun and in IV it got boring using cover all the time. In RDR I could mix it up with Dead Eye and get some easy kills or do it the IV way and hide behind cover. Same with Max Payne 3.
