"GTA IV was too realistic and serious. We need more fun". Now GTA V has these new features which won't even be needed and you are all like "Oh noez, it's too unrealistic and not serious at all".

Get your sh*t together, man.

I havent seen anybody on this thread say it was too realistic. So dont insult people that dont deserve it. (Original quote)

I rather not have it since I think it makes the game too easy

Exactly.it'd feel like a cheat thats permanently on

I wish you can completely disable them. I don't want to use them even accidentally.

Bullet time was great in Max Payne 3 and I can see that working here. Berserk mode has me interested and does slow motion driving. I'll give them a try and if I like them will use them again if not I'll not bother. I'm neutral.

Yes, i loved Dead Eye in Red Dead Redemption and loved Bullet Time in Max Payne 3 - also I enjoyed the special boosts in Midnight Club LA - should be pretty similar to the V ones.

I understand why R* added these features. R* made an effort on all three characters so that they will all feel and play different, giving the player different ways to play the game. If all three characters where exactly the same (excluding skin/player model), then there would be nothing interesting to set them apart. It makes it necessary to utilize all three characters.

So you think that when R* incorporated these things, they didn't think about the difficulty?

Besides, shooting and driving were hardly ever the reason why I failed missions in the past. It was those darn RC vehicles, relying on the friendly AI or the timed missions that always got me.

I don't like the sound of them, as it does sound kinda Saints Row-ish. But it's Rockstar, they know what they're doing, and who knows, maybe all of the haters or the people on the fence like myself might actually come around to the idea.

I like them. Though I'll probably only use Michael's every one in a while. Never liked how they did it with cars in NFS and can imagine it being something of a sort with Franklin, and Trevor's ability is focused on melee which I almost never use, unless they do it right this time.

To those who don't like it. Simple, don't use it. Nobody is going to force you to do so.

with other RPG categories like driving, shooting, flying, etc. it can be very easy to make them play differently.

there is a possibility that you need to use them

im positive you do for at least a couple missions. I just hope they don't make you rely on them throughout the game/missions

Thank you.

It sounds kinda gimmicky. I think the reason R* made theese was to make the gameplay feel different from character to character. I probably won't use it much, but I'm not sure.

Why when ever Rockstar tries to step away from realism it sounds saints rowish? Rockstar was never about Realism. Sure they added things to make it feel real. But they were never realistic about it.

to me it seems they were always trying to be realistic with humorously unrealistic moments. but they weren't able to reach that realism until current gen tech

The thing is Fun > Realistic

Compare GTA V to GTA IV and see the difference. Special abilities in GTA V ( Unrealistic ) while GTA IV doesn't. GTA V regenerating health ( Unrealistic ) while GTA IV has the old health system. Driving in GTA V suppose to be like racing games ( Less realistic ) while GTA IV had boat like driving ( Sorta realistic ).

Their main goal is to have fun. So many people complain about IV so they want to make up for it in V.

That's incorrect. It was confirmed in the GI cover-story but in other, more recent previews too that the driving will be less boat-like but it will be more realistic than in GTA IV. As for realism and fun, I disagree with you. Just because a game is less realistic, it does not mean that it's more fun. By that logic, Saints Row is far superior compared to Grand theft Auto; fun and realism do not exclude each other. GTAV as a whole is realistic, it's over the top but in a more reasonable way.

I don't know how boat cars feel more realistic than racing games (the most realistic driving in games)

I don't see how adding a new gameplay mechanic in the game should be a problem for anyone. It's clear they are going for a much more action-packed FUN game this time around.

I'm neutral.. calling them superpowers is overblowing it anyways. The different skills are probably gonna be subtle like in SA and the special abilities seem fun to toy with but not real gamechangers.

super powers is exactly what they are

calling them "special abilities" is underblowing it

Superpower is like flying, freezing, and etc.. This isn't superpowers. This is using their skills to their FULL advantage.

Does it matter what they are called? They were implemented very well in RDR, MP and MCLA so it's clear that R* know what they are doing...
