I personally won't be using them (at least during the missions). It'll feel like a cheat code. (which are needed but I don't use them until I finish the game)

I just hope they don't implement them to where you HAVE to use them. Other than that, no biggy for me.

I'm curious as to what you guys think. Do super powers belong in a GTA game?

Which ability is best?

Michael: Slow time for shooting, Franklin: Slow time for driving, Trevor: Cause more damage/receive lass damage (may be for melee only, I cant remember)

I think they are a great way of extending the game's replay value.

It's most stupid idea in GTA series. Not GTA style at all.

Not a totally stupid idea, all depends on how its implemented. Hopefully not too strong but a useful boost when stuck on a certain task.

I actually think it's dope how they're adding bullet time as one of the character's abilities. As for the others, I don't really care for them.

I don't like the sound of them. Doesn't sound very 'GTA'.

Really? Then what were those adrenaline pills in GTA 3 and Vice City? It's basically slow motion when you use them (running over the floating icon). Both Franklin and Michael will use slow motion in driving and shooting. Only Trevors one seems new and even so it's more realistic than the other special powers. With drugs like PCP you can be stronger and probably also will feel less own damage or so.

I like them and will use them.. depending on how good they are.

"GTA IV was too realistic and serious. We need more fun". Now GTA V has these new features which won't even be needed and you are all like "Oh noez, it's too unrealistic and not serious at all".

Get your sh*t together, man.

They were fun when you were free roaming and I've used them 3 times in my gta life. You can't use them during mission, or at least not at any time and anywhere you want.

It was mostly a gimmick, not a feature.

I don't know how it'll work ingame and ofcourse haven't seen it etc, but for now, it doesn't sounds like something I'm gonna like

It's like the Dead Eye or Bullettime in RDR and MP3. Obviously these were important features for the games.. but I enjoyed the hell out of those features.

I honestly can't understand why you guys wouldn't like that. But fine, each to their own.

HOW'S ANNIE?

To all you complainers, all three of these abilities have been in the series before:

Michael- in every 3D era game (except SA) with the use of adrenaline pills

Franklin- Could slow down time in car in IV whilst in cinematic mode

Trevor- kill frenzies in GTA 1 and 2

Those people saying it doesn't feel like GTA mustn't have played a lot of the series pre-IV/San Andreas.

As someone said above, each to their own. I won't be using them, but I am sure they will come in handy for other people

I don't care much about it, but I would have liked it better if it required an item to be used to have these effects (e.g.: adrenaline auto-injector for slowing down time) but whatever.

This game is really taking hints from Midnight Club which Rockstar also develops. The slow motion in car thing should be similar to the one in Midnight Club Los Angeles

I don't see why it's such a problem, although I will be a voiding them as much as possible.

Anything comparable to bullet time is a-ok with me, but im not to sure about about the rage from trevor, etc. id be happy with just bullet time/dead eye for all 3 though

i liked the idea, the gameplay in max payne 3 and RDR were greatly improved by features like bullet time and dead eye. and seriously, watching the euphoria in slow motion is a thing of beauty

I wouldnt call them powers. Just think of them as quick reaction. hear me out. Michael isnt really sloqing down time its just that his skills in shooting make him have a quicker reaction and better aim than the other character and THE PLAYER. So in order for him to be more skillfull the game slows down for the player because the person playing the game wont have the reaction that michael has in being quick to line up targets and pull the trigger. And the same goes for franklin but with driving.

And trever being the way he is. He is just going on a huge rage which pumps up his addrenalin and makes him that little bit stronger. I know it happens......

And sorry for the bad spelling.....im a dumbass.

Not sure what to think of it. Will have to see how they implement them. But yeah, if I don't like them I just won't use them.

They'll prob make you use them in the first couple of missions as an introduction.

I'm also wondering if It'll be like red dead redemption where you can tag the enemies, and a red 'x' will pop up, and then he'll shoot at all the x's, kind of llike the tagging system in fallout 3

Yeah (i only just got mp3 last week)

But if everyone thought of it the way i do, a lot less people would be hating the new feature. And i honestly think thats the way r* wants it to be thought of.

I personally won't be using them (at least during the missions). It'll feel like a cheat code.

But why? It's implemented fully into the front end, it's accessed by a button on the controller, not a cheat code. It gives each character and edge at something and makes them unique to some degree. That's just a clever way of making it worth using all three, and providing a slightly different experience with each one.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

"It'll feel like a cheat code"

For the same reason, ihmo: players's position in the minimap online = similar to wallhack

autoaim = aimbot

auto health regen = game dumbed down in multiplayer: you don't need to care about medipacks

I'm with you on that. I don't see myself using them all too much. But I'm sure it's one of those things that sounds weird now, but will be pulled off in the game just fine.

Agreed. No one had a problem with CJ or Tommy driving down the center of the city but as soon as it's practical...
