Apxidia
I still don't understand why more developers haven't started offering early game access for people who pay a premium. I'm not saying I want it, but if I could play GTA V in July, I would pay $150. A few days wouldn't be worth it though. If in-game bonuses were true exclusives, I might pay more. I almost preordered the CE, but now I'm going with the SE. It is interesting isn't it? It would be so easy to implement, and just think of how many people would jump on the chance to play the game a week early (espcially when you think about the delay). Although a few days doesn't seem like that much, I think a lot of people would bite for the chance to play 3-5 days early. That doesn't mean I would be one of them of course... Apxidia
If the CE came with all of the GTA V DLC, then it would be worth that price... This would be awesome. R* would probably never do this though At $20 for each DLC, they would probably be losing out on a lot of potential revenue in the long run. I doubt highly they'd be losing a lot of revenue. CE is already EB/GS Exclusive. Not only that, but VERY limited numbers. My local EB is only taking 10 CE preorders for each console, all of which were filled the first day. For all my intelligence, I preordered one on each so I could cancel one when we get closer to release after console gameplay comparisons come out. Yeah perhaps you're right. This actually made me start thinking about why the CE had so limited numbers. It was probably due to the hassle of making/packaging all the physical content. I wonder if they had just included more digital stuff, that it might have been more appealing and easier to accommodate more CE orders (within reason of course...too much digital material would skew the game for people who pay more). Grand Theft Savage
I got the Collectors Edition because any other version of GTA V is for people who arent real fans of the game. Ah. That would make me a "fake" fan, right?
cp1dell
I hope this has cleared a few things up for you. If you don't agree with my last statement that's fine as we will have to agree to disagree. As I said before this isn't the topic to debate over that stuff. It has, this was a misunderstanding on my part. I apologize.
CryptReaperDorian
If GTA V is going to have a "season pass" (which is the trend I really don't like seeing in video games these days), then that should be added to the Collector's Edition of GTA V. The extra content you get with it (extra $70 over the Special Edition) is probably worth $50 at most, and that's being quite generous. So, an added T-shirt, while cheap to make (it costs like $0.05 to put a logo on a shirt, no joke), would make the package much better.
DeafMetal
Steel case, soundtrack, artbook, development documentary, season pass, and MAYBE a jacket or sweater. I really don't care all that much about a $60 cap.
Tense
Am I the only one that wants a soundtrack like with the special edition GTAIV? All the other crap was useless and is currently buried under a mountain of crap in my wardrobe, but for me the soundtrack + the extremely limited novelty value of the other chinese manufactured junk justified the slight extra price (I think it was like an extra AUD $30 or something). The only thing I want in the CE that doesnt come in the SE is the garage + vehicles, and I'm sure i'll be able to get them for a few bucks somewhere down the line. Bantri
I buy collectors editions for the items, not the DLC. The DLC is nice, but I avoid DLC and would not support paying more just for that.
saintsrow
Some good and realistic ideas above. Based on those, here is what I would like (and not like) in the $150 CE: 1. Two years of Season Passes and $20 discount coupon for next gen game. Lose the cheap bag and the hat. Add a high quality physical scale model of 1 of 5 possible popular vehicles in GTAV. 2. Soundtrack + one year Season Pass + free upgrade to GOTY on same platform. Lose the cheap bag and the hat. Add a high quality physical scale model of 1 of 5 possible popular vehicles in GTAV. 3. Limited edition, coffee table hardcover GTAV art book with exclusive behind the scenes photos & interviews and significant writeup about "the background of GTAV development" + soundtrack. Lose the cheap bag and the hat. 4. One-night stand with the model they signed for the Bikini Girl artwork.
GR7
I would add two things. A mini replica bank safe that can be used as a personal safe and a Bugstar jumpsuit
KangaRoids
I actually really liked the Borderlands 2 Vault Hunter Collectors Edition. It would've been cool to have a collectors edition for GTA V like that. You know, Trevor bobble head, DLC, artbook and a couple other extras. I would be able to appreciate these items more than just some clothing.

FutoDriver
Less stuff to fill your shelf with crap? I've pre-ordered the C.E but, I could do without the baseball cap (what am I? 14?) and silly bag. I will however, probably find a nice frame for the blueprint map and put that above my TV. More digital items though would be better choice (be it soundtracks, wallpapers, icons or DLC) and less of the physical junk to fill my house with please Rockstar. Patriot_Action
What would make paying the high pricetag for CE more easy for you? A $50 rebate, and I'm being generous. For the record, I'm a fence-sitter between Standard and Special. Pre-ordered standard and I doubt I'll change it.

GTA_REEFER
Im getting the CE regardless. 1. 3 in 1 statue; Franklin with Chop, Trevor with an open zippo in one hand and a can of gas in the other, and Mike with a duffel bag around his shoulder and mask in his hand. or a 3 in 1 statue of all three characters doing the 'hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil' 2. A gold or black Zippo lighter with GTAV engraved in it. 3. GTAV ballpoint pen 4. soundtrack, development documentary, artwork, and that blueprint map. Carlover325
Nothing would make it worth it to me at that price. The stuff you get is just useless junk to me. And I can live without the in-game extras. I don't feel I'm getting an incomplete game with the standard retail version. I'll keep my $90 and spend it on something useful.
urbanfire
I kinda wish the CE version had an artbook, statue and soundtrack. You know, something that's actually "collectable". A cap and moneybag isn't really worth the price tag. I'm still getting one though, preordered today, only for the DLC so that I get the complete experience on day 1. I'll probably sell the cap and moneybag on Ebay, get a proportion of the money back that way.
Dick Justice
If it came with a GTA V limited edition controller, I would consider it, though I probably wouldn't bother because I already have 3 and they won't mean anything once the next gen arrives. kudoboi
something better like a custom headset or custom controller or mouse. a statue and a artbook and soundtrack would be cool too. saints row 3 came with a headset so i don't see why R* cant pull it off for the same price bioshock infinite gave this imho R* CE seems pretty lame and looks like a rip off if anything. CE should be special edition and the special edition should be limited edition or pre order edition. CE should offer something more like what i mentioned Edited May 27, 2013 by kudoboi

GTA 360
GTA V logos that you can stick on the side of your console, GTA V controller maybe? And a games box, looks like a safe, is fully enclosed with large door on the front and has a lock to keep your games secure and when you open it all your games are there. But still, if my local games store still has some next week I might get the CE.

So it seems like a lot more people would be receptive to the CE on average if they had included: -some variation of a 3in1 statue -soundtrack -behind the scenes documentary How often have game publishers changed the contents of a CE version after announcing it? Has that ever happened before?

Perhaps the physical parts of the CE will, but what about some really cool/unique digital extra stuff that doesn't detract from other peoples' experience? What if CE owners had access to a special underwater property that non-CE owners couldn't get? (something random I know haha)
