Is the GTA V Collector's Edition Limited?

Hi, i'm a bit broke right now. I think i'm going to pre-order the collectors edition some time in August. I was wondering if the Collectors Edition was limited. I remember before Halo 4 came out, the special editions of the game were limited. The supplies ran out before the release of the game because people were pre-ordering it. Is this the same for the GTA V collectors edition? Will they run out before release? Thanks.

Yeah, although that's just in Sweden, also it's not called a Limited Edition and i think there's a good reason for that. Rockstar knows that they will sell like butter and that there is alot of demand.

The Collector's Edition will be limited at first because there's only so many they can print before release, but i think they'll produce / print more and be avaliable in the future aswell.

 

That's what happened to the GTA IV special edition at least, and that was very limited at release.

Jesus, Collector's Edition is already sold out in most places in the UK, so good luck pre-ordering it in august. Luckily, I went to the town to pre-order it in GAME on the day it was announced.

My local Gamestop only got 5 copies, 2 for XBOX 360 and 3 for PS3. They're probably sold out by now, I was lucky enough to pre-order the first one for PS3. And I've also heard that they're very limited in most places so yes.

Limited quantity is a good way to increase demand and provoke quicker sales. They may well release another "limited" batch once the first lot is gone, but eventually they will stop making them and places will run out. Once release date actually hits, they certainly won't produce anymore.

I don't think it's limited, because R* hasn't said so themselves. It is probably limited right now, but they will ship more if there is enough demand for it.

 

R* makes a RIDICULOUS profit from the CE, so they'll definitely try to sell as many as possible.

Yeah they are and will be limited at launch, but i only think it's "Extremely" Limited in Sweden and other smaller countries, because it's a smaller market.

 

Anyways i think that in the long run, after launch they won't be too limited, since like i said there's huge demand for them, and Rockstar knows that.

 

They wouldn't pass up that opportunity to make money.

Yes, it's extremly limited in most area's. There might be exeptions though, but most places only get a few copies.

 

There are 10 gamestop's in Oslo, and the biggest store got 4/3 copies, others got 1/2.

 

500.000 People live in Oslo, so I'd say it's very limited indeed.

124,867 in my city and only one copy of the CE was pre-ordered so far. I think my GameStop has 4 copies or so. I have nothing to worry about...

1. Call your local video game shop, and ask them what the minimum deposit is to pre-order the GTAV CE. It can range from $5 to $25

2. Pre-order the CE with the minimum deposit required. I'm sure you can afford $5-25.

3. If you decide you don't want the CE, or want to downgrade the pre-order, or even cancel completely, you can do so at any time, getting back any money you gave them.

 

By pre-ordering the CE with the minimum deposit, you can only win. There is virtually nothing to lose from doing this.
