I am only going to buy the standard edition of the game so I will have a few £ to spend on addons.

 

I just hope they don't hold back on some really basic stuff just to sell as DLC.

 

I am more than happy to buy additional cheats as DLC if they are reasonable and it keeps the anti-cheat people happy.

It depends on the content. I like DLC. Like with ME3, I got the CE and I bought the DLC packs that I liked. I just preordered the CE for V and as long as the DLC packs look good then yes I'll buy them.

Normally I don't buy 'stuff' packs, because I don't think it adds more to the experience. However, maybe for GTA V I'll make an exception. So far I played every GTA for years after their release so after a while it might be nice to see a new car or weapon. That being said I don't hope for micro transactions, but hey if it happens its not the end of the world.

Anyway I don't see the SE exclusives being exclusives for long. Actually I dont see us having to pay for them once they do become available to everyone. I can see those things simply being a couple of cheat codes that unlock the items and perks before you would usually get them. It never said that those items weren't available to people who did not get the special edition, it simply says that you ill get it first if you get the SE. I don't know why people are panicking, this is the same Rockstar that made EFLC adn BoGT.

It's a shame they won't be doing full-blown add-ons like the Episodes for IV or Undead Nightmare. That kind of stuff is worth it. DLC can be good if it's like an expansion pack: those were around during the 'good ol' days' of gaming too (the best example of a modern expansion pack I think is Shivering Isles for ESIV: Oblivion, mainly because it adds an entirely new map with new assets). But V will likely have more micro-transaction-style stuff like RDR (apart from Undead Nightmare) and MP3.

 

I can't say that I will. I think they're likely to give out some stuff for free though, I mean there were one or two smaller free DLCs for RDR that I downloaded. There's really nothing to lose there. So unless it's something I really, really want, I don't think so.

Although I may not want to this is GTA so i'll eat up every DLC they offer. I'm kind of okay with R* doing it as this is GTA a game that comes out every 5 years or so.
