holy shizu. Sometimes damages (like wounds, Injured by bullet...) will leave marks on the body of the characters forever.

i like this one.

Hmmm, I don't like it. What would it look like in 4 years. Every character will be walking scabs. They will be one huge scar. If it's cutscene type stuff, that is fine. Get a scar from that, but if it's dynamic and happens just from getting hurt. That would look terrible after time. Just think how many times your character gets hurt in GTA 4. Get in an explosion and look like a ghoul from Fallout.

Part of me is questioning the use of the word "forever," and whether it's poor wording/translation. For some reason literal "forever" scars/wounds coming from normal gameplay seems very extreme to me. I know my opinion might sound stupid but permanent character damage doesn't sound right.

I already knew most of this from IGN, and the others who already saw the demo.

There was another preview yesterday but the thread was closed. Was all of that bullsh*t? I really liked that they said you can use Chop to find hidden packages and that no pedestrian through the whole demo looked the same.

I recall multiple people here saying the preview you speak of was fake or at least had "enhanced" features.

Yes, it was definitely fake.

To be more specific that list had fake info and real info.

The list in this thread also has fake info and real info.

Someone mixed all this info and posted. Other sites reposted it and now you can read it on GTAForums

Info about Chop and hidden packages is fake.

Info about pedestrians is real but it was said regarding Michael part of the demo

That's why topic with all Russian previews was useful. There were links to every preview so you could check if info is real.

Now you can see how people are posting short list of "Key Info", which is partly fake.

Plus they don't even indicate the source of the info(concrete previews) or provide wrong source which in fact doesn't contains info specified in the list

I'm not sure how I feel about background music. In a forest area when it's just one character on his own, at night, background music may add a lot to the feel of it.

CVG said the mini map was an overhead view while on foot and then switched to the angled view (like GPS) while driving.

so the mini map is on the top of the screen

Overhead...doesn't mean...

You know what, nevermind.

this details leaked by the Russian magazines in 23 may

Sometimes damages (like wounds, Injured by bullet...) will leave marks on the body of the characters forever.

In the beginning of the demo we seen Franklin jumping out of a plane with a parachute, While Franklin in the air, you notice a lot of interesting things:

A military base hidden in the hills.

Wild animals prey on each other.

Motocross track and a hunting ground. Also you see tourists walking in the mountains, near the river and a few people go fishing, and more.

Some of the problems that associated with the low capacity of some platforms still exist, like the number of cars on the street...

For the first time in the series there was background music.

The underwater world around Los Santos looks great, it's probably the most beautiful image of the sea in the games. Colored fish swim among the rocks and Shark swims near you.

Source: Behindgames

I knew about everything besides for thbe scar forever thing so thanks. As for the bg music, I think its cool for intense moments but when I'm in the wilderness that's all I want to hear. Not music. The outdoors

Rockstar claim it will take 2.5 hours to travel from one end of the map to the other on a train

In game hours or real time? I highly doubt it can be real time.

This could be another bullsh*t. Remember that these sources don't know much about GTA and somebody might've trolled them.

I played RDR on the 360 but plan on getting GTAV for the PS3 - was there a problem with RDR on the PS3?

I remember reading somewhere that the protagonists will have more room for textures on their bodies than all the pedestrians in SA combined, so permanent scars may actually work.

Maybe fake. Author mentioned this in such a way that it's hard to say if he really meant that damages will leave marks on the body of the characters forever.

"Some of the problems that associated with the low capacity of some platforms still exist, like the number of cars on the street..."

Fake. I've read almost all of the previews and didn't saw mentioning of it. However, theoretically it may be true.

Very many journalists said that PS3 is working on it's limits. When Franklin jumps with parachute they noticed small lags, low FPS.

Plus the visible loading of textures on the way. Or butterflies that simply disappear in the air

---

Everything else is true

Permanent scars are basically tattoos, which we know all characters can have.

now i understand why only LS they use, so it's basically 3 world in one:

1- LS normal city

2- mountains, rivers and a small jungle with countryside villages

3- underwater world

Nope. There will be definitely real time damages on their bodies. However it's unknown whether some damages will remain forever

No. What I meant was, it doesn't surprise me because tattoos would also stay forever(unless removed) so it wouldn't surprise me if scars stayed...

I'm sure you could get plastic surgery since it is LA.

I imagine how the car spawn rate works, I think I figured it out:

The countryside had less vehicles on the road, as they put more peds/animals and random events to occur there.

While in the city, you get a good car spawn rate and there is still a lot of cars and peds, but less animals and random things like a military base.

This only makes the game more interesting imo, in the countryside, the roads are less used, but on the sidewalks we see more activity.

If body scars are permanent, what if car damage is too, until you take it to a body shop? What if just like cars get tuned, they can be/need to be fixed? (ie, no more magic garage repairs). What if, just like cars need repairs, so does your face - LA is the plastic surgery capital after all.

Why is background music bad?

It was the best thing in Skyrim.

Because music is the score to life, and we need to listen to the radio or otherwise be near speakers to hear music in real life.

GTA background music needs to be easily disabled. Underwater it would be okay, I guess, but there should not be music in GTA unless it's the car radio, the television, an obvious realistic place to hear music like clubs or concerts, or other cars driving by outside - background music, is bullsh*t.

And I'm not all caught up on realism either, but that is one thing, that should not have changed, and definitely needs to be easily disabled, because if not, they must be idiots, because how could they possibly think this would be a globally welcome feature when no one ever complained about it *not* being there, it was a given, it was respectable, it waa "a part of gta' that if you want to listen to music, you get in a car or go to a club etc, there wasn't magic-fairies playing a "score" in your ear when skydiving - it was the wind. And it was correct for them to do it like that, now they are changing it, it's dumb, just like the stupid new radar, that stupid waste of processing to warp the image so it looks like a gps needs to be easily disabled also tounge.gif

If they wanted music on foot or anything like that, they should have made the iFruit play MP3s and radio stations, given boomboxes you could carry, stuff like that, they should not have magic music in your head, and there is just a lot of stuff they are doing that bothers me, but I'm done complaining, cause for these few choices they've made that I don't like, there is likely 150 things for each that are awesome tounge.gif lol

However, I do think at this point (with the need for more info to be sure) that they've changed too much. The "gta would be stale if yearly" thing is going to blow up in their face when they learn "gta changed too much, too fast, and took too long to do it". 1 game per year probably would stale. 1 game in 5 years changes too damn much. tounge.gif

I don't buy it. So when does the game determine whether to leave a mark or not?

I would love there to be a music function on the iFruit to allow the player to the radio on foot or skydiving etc.. Also, the musical score should be optional.

I would imagine that this happens in big story missions, not in free-roam or random injuries.

You mean TBoGT right? Then yes, but it was a real song, not part of the soundtrack, that song was also on electro choc radio

GTA V will use for background music its own soundtrack, made specificaly for the game.

Due to the fact the PS3 shipped a year later and is more challenging to program, GTAIV and RDR both showed signs being better optimized on the 360, which was a very slight difference in frame buffer resolution and density of things like blades of grass. This discrepancy was largely eliminated in Max Payne 3 and GTAV should be even better.

What are you discussing?

I don't know where you got this info, but I've read dozens of Russian previews and all of them said that graphics in GTA V is much better than in GTA IV, RDR.

There were some amazing comparisons with latest Far Cry 3(ocean looks not worse), under water scene in COD: Ghosts(scene under water in GTA V looks much more impressive), etc.

Journalists criticized some separate things as waterfalls("disgusting"), but in general everything is amazing and MUCH better than in GTA IV. And better than in RDR as well

Background music needs to be really well balanced.

One of the best things about GTA is just walking down the streets hearing the city sounds, music blasting out of cars and peds making funny remarks and having conversations.

The last thing we need is some Skyrim-esque nordic chant/orchestral score kicking in just because.

I'm confident R* know how to deal with this and hopefully they've kept it to a minimum.
