Apparently one Protagonist is an Antagonist..

One of the 3 is not the antagonist.

That was just something said in an interview as "example" and it has been completely taken out of context everytime its brought up.

Ive been thinking along this path for a while now, about how the story will progress, and i really think ive got a good version of events....

 

So Michael is in some sort of witness protection programme.... but used to be a mega time heist guy?...

 

The only way you ever hear of an old criminal living it up under witness protection is when he snitched on everyone else in on it and walked like a free man. And i think a lot of of the other characters characteristics play on it.

Michael hints he had a past, wanted to retire, and be a good guy..... redemption by snitching?

says he bought a big house... but the bio from rockstar says he is in witness protection? Maybe they changed the vibe.

Major theme of he wants to get back into it

Says he has been in the game for a lot of years and managed to get out alive... where is his old crew, dead?

we meet trevor who seems to be the gun slinger

we meet Franklin who seems to be the brains

 

Both trevor and franklin have their connections to gang related activity

it seems that Michael is the only one with heist related history/knowledge

if he had to tame their skill and hone them, i see trevor being a problem to control, whereas franklin was the son he always wanted, but would be a slippery one, giving us the diversion, when really trevor will probably end up becoming 'neutered' and franklin red faced on a set up.

 

Either that or they will baby face trevor, kill him but he will come back from an epic wound to kill off Michael once franklin has had his 'father son' feud.

I dont get it . Think people If they are pulling off 6 major heist killing people in the process the FIB/IAA would surely investigate it especially with Micheal a notorious and once Most Wanted man in the US in the city. The group will stay together and Take on the FEDs . From the Previews these heist will be worth Millions of dollars

Honestly, I'm just hoping not Michael. I like him too much. I think, given the father-son dynamic between Michael and Franklin, it could be Trevor gone crazy.

I don't think they literally mean that one of them will be the main antagonist of the game, more like one of them will cause problems for the others.

The protags may antagonize one another during the course of the story as they will each have conflicting objectives, but no one protag will suddenly become some unlikable douche who unreasonably dicks over the others. They are all protagonists and, as such, the player should be able to sympathize with and identify with all three, even when they may be working against each other. No one protagonist is the antagonist... on the contrary, if Dan Houser has done his job, all three protags are also antags. Therein lies the brilliance of multiple protagonists.

The middle aged guy, bored to death and returning to his former life of crime.

 

Franklin;

 

A young African-American/Hispanic lad, most likely in his 20's, he wants to escape the life of gangs and such he's supposed to be involved in and wants to make a living doing 'the bigger stuff'

 

Trevor;

 

A man most likely in his early 50's, an absolute nutcase, attracted by the bigger bang and not afraid of what he has to do to cause it

Now the question is, who do you wish to see as the antagonist out of the three?

 

How would you like to see them turn into the Antagonist? Is there a reason why? Do you want it to be caused emotionally or just out of greed?

I think if any thing like that does happen (i don't think it has been said by anyone that has seen the game though?), that it will be Franklin.

 

Not because he is black... or from the ghetto.. but because the way they have been profiled and their reasoning's for being "in the game".

Michael is in it to re-live his youth and keep is family afloat with their lifestyles he cannot afford.

 

Trevor is in it just for the thrills.

 

Franklin is in it for money it also notes he is ambitious.

 

Those two points means it is highly likely he will piss on the other two... Michael will be content as long as his family are happy... trevor doesn't give a sh*t its for the thrills... Franklin wants money and what ever he has will never be enough because he is ambitious for it, irl that make up would defo make him go for it.

I'm sure it will be up to the player who the antogonist will be. GTA is known for non linear

multiple ending games. I honestly think that if there is betrayal it will be resolved. None of the playable characters will die..

 

 

Plus, surprisingly they all seem to have chemistry with one another

I think GTA IV has been the only game with multiple end choices.

I'd like it to be Franklin, because I like Trevor and Michael the most (tie between them and it's f*cking impossible to choose a better one) and don't want to see them die, but I know I'm most likely wrong, or Rockstar's going to surprise the living sh*t out of all of us and it will be a different person/entity that antagonizes the group.

I honestly hope it isn't one of them but I just don't see the story closing out with all of them being alive/aligned.
