But maybe it's more complex then just straight out badness. Maybe it's a bit like Breaking Bad, the game seems to have been inspired by it.

Do you have a link to the confirmation, I never read about this.

I've read it like a million times on the forums and I think it was in some of the previews or said by R*?

Michael, because the other two would be too predictable. Psycho guy goes psycho and turns on everyone. Boring. "Ghetto" guy screws over white boys. Not very good. But old family man becoming the bad guy? I would like that. I would like that a lot.

It's def not Trevor. He's too obvious. He's gonna be that lovable psychopath with a strong moral code or something, I'd bet big on that. Making him, a psycho, go psycho on the other two is just too GIVEN for Rockstar to consider it.

 

It's not Michael either for the same reason: it's too obvious. His backstory is a basically that he's a snitch. So, a snitch betraying his friends? Again, too much of an obvious route for Rockstar who like to do twists.

 

So, by process of elimination, the probable antagonist, if any, is Franklin. He's a young, determined up-and-comer trying to make his life better. It'd be a lot more shocking to see him betray the other two than the other way around.

 

Personally, though, I wouldn't want any of them to be an antagonist, I like all of them.

Im thinking the antagonist will be decided on the choices you make with each character and how you play their individual story. They also said whichever character youre doin a mission with will hear what the npcs think of the other 2 characters.

If so, this will lead you to make specific decisions which also may lead to who the antagonist is depending on who you favor. then lets say you favor trevor the most will you end up being the antag or protag?

The F.I.B will be the main antagonist. With Micheal once being the most wanted man in the GTA universe America there is not doubt that pulling off 6 Big heist will get their attention.

Assuming it's true that one of the three protagonists becomes the antoganist, I'm guessing it'll be Franklin.

 

Michael feels like the leader of the group. It wouldn't feel right if he'd leave the group to work on a new goal.

Trevor feels like the wildcard of the group. It'd be too predictable if he turned into the antagonist.

Franklin, being the youngest member of the group and eager to prove himself, gets tired of being treated like a newcomer and decides to go rogue on Michael and Trevor in order to achieve his own personal goal(s).

i always took this part of the GI preview to mean that there may be times where our protags don't agree on what should be done, or how it should be done, so there may be times where one protag goes it alone against the wishes of the other 2 protags (antagonising but not strictly an antagonist, if you get what i mean).

I will go with Franklin, because he has way more reasons to betray Michael and Trevor than those 2. Trevor is just a nutcase who lives in a trailer which tells he is not really ambitious.

 

Michael has been there done that, he probably sold his team mates out before to get in the WPP and maybe that guilt is one of the reason why he wants to do things right this time.

 

I wont like Franklin betraying them for the greed of money but because he will turn out to be an undercover cop, that would be fresh in GTA series.

Why are people saying Frank's an undercover cop? He has a MASSIVE history in the gangs already, he was most likely RAISED there, how can he secretly become a cop in that timeframe?

 

Also, how would it work? You'll get a 12ie who'll be like "sh*t I'M CJ M8" and start gunning down truckloads of peds, and the cops he works with will just think it's cool?

Trevor decides to hell with you pricks, Michael is pressured by the fib or franklin takes his chance to get all the money... I hope that depending on how you play it can vary

Ah, another conspiracy theory. If it's true perhaps Trevor or Franklin. Or maybe it would depend which character you play the most and somewhere down the line you've got to pick whos side you on... Or maybe it's all just bullsh*t... I hope it is, don't really like the idea of one being the antagonist. All 3 of them working as a team through the difficulty of the game/story seems like it would fit better.

 

But I could picture some problems between Franklin in Trevor. Older guy, younger guy, race differences, both criminals, both power hungry.

 

 

Hell maybe there both gay, and in the end they get married.
