Multiple weapon tiers/types of weapons

Hi all. My question for everyone pertains to weapon types as well as the simple amount of weapons in game. What do you think Rockstar is saying when they stated that 5 would have more weapons than any other GTA. I know it sounds stupid but what I'm truly asking is how far will this go? Will there be multiple pistols (more than simply having just regular and advanced pistol) as well as multiple versions of other types of guns. Will there be more guns than RDR/Max Payne. I think it would be very cool if you could further specialize your character by using a USP instead of an m9 beretta or a colt m1911 pistol? They could sound different and have different attributes/clip sizes. People could discuss and talk about how they used this machine gun versus this assault rifle/etc. Rockstar also stated that you could find useful items as well as money in sunken ship wrecks. It would be insane/slightly comical if you found a civil war rifle/pistol or something from history and could fix it up at a gun store and run around with it. Just another something to ease the nostalgia of San Andreas players. I know this is all speculative but its definitely fun to ponder. It would all bring further pride/achievement and bragging rights to players talking about their accomplishments and feats in single player mode.

This is dumb, more weapons means more weapons obviously, from different types.

Yeah totally agree man icon14.gif

I'm very keen to see a bigger variety of pistols this time around. Most GTAs so far had just two pistols available to the player - one standard 9mm pistol and one heavy-duty, large caliber pistol.

My favorite pistol is a Glock 9mm, and I really liked the fact they had that in GTA IV, but this time in GTA V I want more variety. It would so great to be able to choose from a range of different pistols - Glock 17 or 19, Berreta M9, Heckler and Koch USP45, Colt M1911, Desert Eagle, snub-nosed .38 revolver, Colt Python, Ruger P95 etc.

Just imagine that !! And also to get them in chrome would be brilliant too.

I think gun customization is help offset any weapon types that lack large numbers. I would like to see a Glock 18, Beretta Model 93R, or some other full auto weapons that can be used in the pistol slots.

I can see 3 different tiers of weapons for GTA V, with other 3 tiers being made solely of upgraded weapons from other tiers.

For example:

M4 Carbine - Tier 1

M4 Custom (Red Dot - Ext. Mags - Foregrip - Silencer) - Tier 4

MTAR - Tier 2

MTAR Custom (MARS Sight - Ext. Mags - Grenade Launcher - Flash Supressor) - Tier 5

I have no problem replying to your posts as long you stick the topics and not concern yourself with my well-being.

Gun customization is great to have and I'm glad it's there, but I definitely wanna see a bigger range of pistols this time around in GTA V. It was a bit boring to have to chose between only a Glock and a Desert Eagle in GTA IV. It's a good thing I just love Glocks, or else it would have felt worse for me in IV. In V, I want 5 different ones maximum. This would be perfect :

*Glock 17 or 19.

* Colt M1911

* Beretta M9

* Desert Eagle

* Colt Python (revolver)

I'd be very happy with that choice of pistols in V.

I should have added this question too. Weapons shown in official artwork- are they in game/can we count on them as confirmed weapons?

I agree with everything you said above. icon14.gif

I hope we get as many weapons as possible.

Gun variety has always lacked in GTA games, but it's weird because I've never really thought about it whilst I've been playing. Too busy raising hell I guess.

But I'd love to see 4/5 of each weapon type, along with maybe an added standard police/military issue for each as well. Handguns, Sub-machine guns, Shotguns, Assault rifles, Long range rifles, Machine guns (maybe a couple), RPG's and a grenade launcher, grenades, Molotov cocktails, smoke grenades, tear gas, C4 and then LOADS of melee weapons.... Apologies as this is a little off topic but I just got too excited.
