So i was just thinking

A memeber here on the forums uploaded this picture

user posted image

they said

"we only have 350 ourselves"

So do you think the game is actually finnished now?

are they packing the box containing the game, the cap, the map etc?

Just speculations i mean!

maybe its obvious or maybe confirmed that the game is finnished but i dont know!

Stop reading into it so much. They can say "Have" because they currently are selling them wether they are finished or not. It would be weird if they are already for sale and say "we will have."

And does it really matter if it's finished? It will still release the same day either way. No difference.

It could be. They're probably making copies of it and shipping them to retailers as we speak.

I wish.

They've planned in advance how many they will ship, but that doesn't mean that the game has gone gold.

No it's not ready. It probably won't go gold until the beginning of Sept at the latest.

I wonder if the collectors edition will really be that exclusive. 350 is a very low production number, and would make the collectors edition much more collectible

I am 99% certain that it is not finished yet. It will probably be done near the end of August or very-early September. Certainly not yet.

The reason I say 99% is because I don't work for R* so obviously I can't be 100% certain. lol.gif

Lemme ask you something, if the game comes out on september 17, why would they finish making it in early september when it wl be shipped to retailers at that time? It will be done by the end of july guaranteed

Maybe the development progress.

If the dvds were ready by know, wouldn't it be leaked by a factory worker already? tounge2.gif

It doesn't take that long. Games typically go gold (end development and finalize) about a month before official release. So probably not early September, but rather mid-late August.

Yup. GTA IV went gold April 17, 2008 which was 12 days before launch.

San Andreas went gold October 15th, 2004 which was 11 days before launch.

Because sometimes games are worked on right up until the last possible minute. By early September I mean the very first week. I don't think this will be the case personally but I was giving a worst case scenario.

The point remains that the game isn't done yet. So don't laser in on one specific point of my post and ignore everything else which is correct and has been stated numerous times on this forum by posters who actually know how the gaming industry works.

I personally think it will be sometime in August, as I stated in my posted. It doesn't take 2 months to box and ship a game to retailers....

The disc's will be burnt as late as possible so as to be able to fix any bugs found up to the release date. The more time they have to work on it the better, for them, and us.

You are correct mate, It's logical to assume GTA V goes gold 4-5 weeks prior to September the 17th.

My guess:

GTA V (DISC) goes gold 4-5 weeks prior to release.

Physical items / DLC code sheets are put in production at anytime in the near future, or already.

After producing enough hats/bags, they prepear the packages for shipping. Then when the DISC is produced, they simply drop the disc smoothly into the SE / CE and sent them off around the world.

Every single store in the world has recieved a SPESIFIC number on how many copies of the CE they will be able to sell, which leads me to believe that the process of producing the collector editions are already in works.

Rockstar Warehouse is getting 350 CE for them to sell, as for the rest of the world I have no idea.

I've sent an e-mail requesting the total numbers of CE in production, but I have no idea if they will respond at this point.

If that's how many collector's editions will be avaliable, this furthers proves that all of the extra digital content that comes with the preorder editions of GTA V will be released at a later date to everyone.

It's how many copies the Rockstar Warehouse is getting in total. Not across the globe.

350 will be sold in total from Rockstar's pages. smile.gif

I know, but I'm saying that if every retailer gets roughly 500 CE copies for example, they won't number 10% of the total amount of copies that GTA V will sell in the next few years. And since I don't care about the caps/blueprint maps (each GTA V copy WILL come with a normal map like GTA IV) but I do care about the extra digital stuff, this just makes me happier smile.gif

It wasn't 100% confirmed, but if you look closely, they say the map that comes with the preorder editions is a blueprint with some locations highlighted for quick cash. And since every GTA IV copy had a "regular" map, I don't see why GTA V shouldn't have one too.

Ye, I know they use to have it. Hopefully the blueprint will not work as a substitute. That would suck for people only getting the regular version.

I'm hoping for a smaller map inside the casing.

Although we don't know for sure, and I could possibly be wrong, I'm 99.999% sure the standard edition will have a regular paper map just like all GTS's before/

That's my guess:

SE and CE will come with both these maps:

Regular Map

Blueprint (extra) Map

The standart edition will come with just the Regular Map. I'm sure the blueprint map will be just a street map with some highlighted locations.

I feel the same on that. The game is coming out September 17 and it's only May 25. They just want to get a feel in how many they need to make.
