ChrissDaMan
So i was just thinking A memeber here on the forums uploaded this picture they said "we only have 350 ourselves" So do you think the game is actually finnished now? are they packing the box containing the game, the cap, the map etc? Just speculations i mean! maybe its obvious or maybe confirmed that the game is finnished but i dont know!
Bantri
Stop reading into it so much. They can say "Have" because they currently are selling them wether they are finished or not. It would be weird if they are already for sale and say "we will have." And does it really matter if it's finished? It will still release the same day either way. No difference. universetwisters
It could be. They're probably making copies of it and shipping them to retailers as we speak. I wish.

UberVIIX
I wonder if the collectors edition will really be that exclusive. 350 is a very low production number, and would make the collectors edition much more collectible
Audiophile
I am 99% certain that it is not finished yet. It will probably be done near the end of August or very-early September. Certainly not yet. The reason I say 99% is because I don't work for R* so obviously I can't be 100% certain. So probably not early September, but rather mid-late August.

Lugermorph
No it's not ready. It probably won't go gold until the beginning of Sept at the latest. Yup. GTA IV went gold April 17, 2008 which was 12 days before launch. San Andreas went gold October 15th, 2004 which was 11 days before launch. I don't think this will be the case personally but I was giving a worst case scenario. The point remains that the game isn't done yet. So don't laser in on one specific point of my post and ignore everything else which is correct and has been stated numerous times on this forum by posters who actually know how the gaming industry works. I personally think it will be sometime in August, as I stated in my posted. It doesn't take 2 months to box and ship a game to retailers.... UberVIIX
The disc's will be burnt as late as possible so as to be able to fix any bugs found up to the release date. The more time they have to work on it the better, for them, and us.

You are correct mate, It's logical to assume GTA V goes gold 4-5 weeks prior to September the 17th. My guess: GTA V (DISC) goes gold 4-5 weeks prior to release. Physical items / DLC code sheets are put in production at anytime in the near future, or already. After producing enough hats/bags, they prepear the packages for shipping. Then when the DISC is produced, they simply drop the disc smoothly into the SE / CE and sent them off around the world. Every single store in the world has recieved a SPESIFIC number on how many copies of the CE they will be able to sell, which leads me to believe that the process of producing the collector editions are already in works. Rockstar Warehouse is getting 350 CE for them to sell, as for the rest of the world I have no idea. I've sent an e-mail requesting the total numbers of CE in production, but I have no idea if they will respond at this point.
RedShotBR
If that's how many collector's editions will be avaliable, this furthers proves that all of the extra digital content that comes with the preorder editions of GTA V will be released at a later date to everyone. I know, but I'm saying that if every retailer gets roughly 500 CE copies for example, they won't number 10% of the total amount of copies that GTA V will sell in the next few years. And since I don't care about the caps/blueprint maps (each GTA V copy WILL come with a normal map like GTA IV) but I do care about the extra digital stuff, this just makes me happier
