They'll probably let you drive the car if someone else bought the Special/Collectors Edition. The same works for Max Payne 3, you can use DLC weapons even if you haven't purchased the DLC if you pick them up from players who have bought the retrospective DLC.

I'm thinking it's along the lines (for offline anyway) that those cars/weapons will always spawn at your safehouses, whereas for everybody else you'll just have to randomly find them.

 

Either that or it's early access to already on the disc DLC that everybody will be able to get in a month or two via a PSN/XBL purchase, or by completing some missions or like a R* Social Club achievement type of thing.

In MP3 the DLC weapons dont appear for non subscribed DLC players. For instance, the M4, UAR, Stun Gun, Pepper Spray....ect dont appear in the regular mp, so you will never see those weapons (only when you die by it) if you dont have the DLC.

It'd be swell if they told us how the "multiplayer garage" is supposed to work exactly. Seems to me like in MP you'll only see a Khamellion if someone who got the collectors' edition is driving one. Otherwise it'd be a pretty lousy CE bonus. People are gonna want to flaunt that they paid $150 for the game, I figure.

 

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to steal someone else's, but I'd assume only the CE owner can respawn it.

As most said (inc me) "Oh that bonus stuff will be available to buy on psn at a later date"... meaning R* wont be wanting us swapping or stealing it of other people.

 

We know we have garages... so if i go on the same server as my mate who got collectors edition, if i can drive it and save it in my garage, whats the point of it being a bonus or for sale on psn?

 

Also, what would happen to the other persons version if i do take it and save it? do they keep theirs...aka a clone..again bad business.

If you try to do so, you'll get 5 starts instantly and tanks will rush into you firing rockets and machine gun rounds... you'll be able to drive it for less then 10 seconds if you're lucky.

for non-collectors edition players, the door handles will be electrified. whenever you try to enter, you will be electrocuted and paralyzed in place for 60 seconds.

I'd be willing to bet that it's similar to BF3's DLC. It'd either be included in an update or on-disc, meaning that people can see it being used and can steal it, but can't take the simpler route of selecting it from their garage.

 

BF3 was like this because the DLCs were included in updates, meaning that if you killed someone with a gun you hadn't bought, you could still steal it and use it, but you can't unlock it yourself.

It says early access to the GARAGE, not the cars.

 

The cars/vehicles will most likely be exclusive, I guess you will be able to buy the garage later tho.

You're not buying the edition to get "exclusive content" because at some point it'll be avaible to everyone. You're buying them for the swag. You just get the in-game items early with these editions.

We're a rare breed these days.

 

Besides the outfits and the gold Guns, most of the stuff RDR got you early you got later in the game anyhow IIRC. And even if they didn't I played the game with no bonus' still do and it still had enough content to keep me more than busy. (I may get the GOTY anyways since I miss my Undead Nightmare disc)

 

Also wwinterj is right, in reality you're mostly paying for the things like the Steel Case, and the map etc. and geting the Digital stuff for free. That said I think the Tattoo's and Threads, as well as the Ablitity boost and Air Challenges are all exclusive because it made all of those out to be additional content.

if you have the DLC yes, but if dont you cant. Whats the point of buying (with real money) extra weapons if anyone can pick em up? When i didnt have the DLC i never saw any of those weapons. I know this cuz the M4 is fav anf never had access to it.

I highly doubt that you will be able to save the cars you stole in your garage in MP. To access a car from your garage you will most likely have to purchase it first(with in-game money I mean) so that won't be a problem.

You will be able to steal their car even if it is an exclusive car. The difference is that if you wreck it or join a new server you will no longer have access to it unless you steal it again.
