Perhaps that is because this is a GTA forum, and guys like myself who have played GTA from the very beginning have survived quite happily without multiplayer for all of their games, bar the HD titles. TheKrigeron Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 My eternal dream was a Co-op mode in GTA, there was one in SA (yes there was) but it was Very limited, the MP in IV was cool and all but Liberty City wasn't exactly that great to free-roam in, but now with Country Side N' sh*t Imma play the Sh*t out of it! Still wish there was a local co-op mode but oh well, gotta settle with what you have and what we have is pretty dang great Note: if you notice the censoring on my behalf I think swearing on this forum is forbidden, isn't it? If you dont agree with this thread amd dont like my opinion, WHY ARE YOU TAKING THE TIME TO POST HERE???? Look at your first post OP. Read towards the bottom..."your opinions are appreciated". Don't yell at people for having a different opinion than you, in a thread where you asked for peoples' opinions. Mulitplayer adds a fantasitc element to the game, and I've had some of my best moments playing with my friends in free roam on GTA IV. I would be very sad if it wasn't included in GTA V. You can do all of these awesome things in single player, and just imagine how much more fun it could be with your friends or other players online. Like I mentioned in another thread before, multiplayer wasn't an important part of gaming in that time, none of us cared about multiplayer, but now in 2013 games are about multiplayer AFTER, keyword: AFTER, singleplayer. COD was originally just a SP game and now COD MP is what keeps people coming back to purchase it every year. MP can add a lot more to game than only having SP. I enjoy playing in a city by myself, that's what I grew up doing in III, Vice City and SA, but having the added depth of MP adds a whole other layer of enjoyment. Happyness Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 Well, GTA must have MP, some people don't enjoy a game without MP, plus MP doesn't really affect SP that much, actually MP isn't even that big in size, since it uses the same objects and every bit from the single-player, it's just a bit of coding which allows the multiplayer. After finishing the story and replaying it once or twice it does get boring for some, and in that case the multiplayer comes in. However saying that the game is ruined is utterly stupid. slumdunder Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 I've played all the gta's, plus rdr, la noire, and mp3. I loved the gta's when they were single player. Then gta iv came out and I tried the multiplayer. It was alright for the time! Not great, but it was really cool to get to play in that sandbox with other people. Then rdr came out. MAN that multiplayer was great. The single player in that game was also obviously epic, but that was the game that convinced me that multiplayer is really cool. La noire didn't have multiplayer, it wouldn't have fit the game anyways (besides not being a TRUE rockstar game). Didn't miss the multiplayer, kept playing red deads! Then max Payne 3 comes out and blows the roof off of what I thought was capable in multiplayer with rockstar. Mp3's multiplayer was masterful EXCEPT for some glitchiness. I played that constantly, even more than with rdr. God it was awesome. Over time, it got worse; rockstar's relative inexperience with multiplayer showed when they added a few too many DLC items that ruined the game. Specifically the astronaut suits. You didn't stand a chance unless you also equipped it, but then there was no variety left between the players. The game got unbalanced. So MP3 multiplayer started amazing, but kinda ended on a sour note for me. Either way, the entire time I was playing, all I could think was this: Oh my god, they are gonna get so much experience from this and then totally rock the house with multiplayer once GTAV comes out!!! Honestly the multiplayer was close to flawless. And the flaws were all fixable! I am gonna go nuts with GTAV's single player, but my excitement for their multiplayer is sky high as well! So yeah, mp isn't of great importance to us. That's like saying the game doesn't need a large city or better handling for cars because we have done just fine without them. I have no idea how anyone can not want multiplayer in GTA. In SP, after you're done with the story or when you don't want to replay it anymore all there is to do is to freeroam by yourself. Which is infinitely more fun when you're doing it with friends. As someone who cares very little for MP I'd say that GTA is one of the few games that really need it. The only way I can think of someone not wanting MP in GTA is that if that person sees MP only as people ceaselessly shooting each other or if they don't have any friends to play the game with.
