As already said GTA V will run on RAGE which powers IV, EFLC, MAX PAYNE 3 and RED DEAD REDEMPTION and other various titles.

 

That means V will be able to look as good as REDEMPTION and use shooting mechanics from MAX PAYNE 3.

I would hope so. I always looked at RDR as having a better look and feel then GTA4. RDR was just flawless.

I liked Red Dead, a lot. The only thing I didn't like was the shooting. You wouldn't always have to be aiming directly at the target to hit it, which I found really strange. Also the damage system was sh*t, online I usually played Hardcore yet people still took like 7 hits to die.

 

Unless that's just connection issues I don't know.

This was a real problem in IV, especially with the glock pistol. Even though with it being 9mm, it would take near the whole clip to drop somone.

 

But i guess it's like this in all games. If I play a hardcore/realism mode I'd want 1-3 shot kill with most weapons. And with a weapon like a shotgun at close range, I want to decapitate somone. I swear things are getting toned down too much.

RDR damage system in single player was perfect. It was like 1 or 2 shots to the chest for a kill, 2 or 3 to the stomach, 3 to the limbs etc. I can't speak for MP though as I never played it that much.

all the games of rockstar run on the same engine, only with modifications ofcourse, search it on google ( R.A.G.E )

it means Rockstar's advance game engine, they use this for every game, for GTA V they where talking about R.A.G.E 2.0,
