FranklinsBroJT
Anybody remember the money you got in online multiplayer in IV do you think it will be in V? I mean I have this weird thought that we could buy houses in cars in "GTA Online" it kind of sounds MMO of some sort.
BrimStone7
Well, if you remember, that money was technically XP. However; it would be nice to use that cash to buy some personal cars, clothes, hideouts, etc.

Instead of spawning where there's a war going on and you can't get passed it because every time you try to leave you get killed.
Averryy
I personally think that if it is money again, you will spend it on customizing your characters. New outfits, skins, accessories etc. I guess it could also be used to buy weapons and classes for deathmatches etc. It really depends what way R* handle the online.. Pregnantplatypus
Im not sure alot of you realize that the map isnt big enough for you to have a personal home in multiplayer unless the house purchase expired after the game ended. Having a list of cars that you can spawn in or go to a garage and recieve is more plausable.
RichyB
I personally can't remember getting money in MP in GTA IV, then again I could have had $100 or $1 Million and wouldn't have known because there was nothing to do with it. Whatever the case, I don't think there'll be anything to buy in MP with your money.

Pregnantplatypus
So you go around spending your hard earned money on 25 different houses for the chance of spawning in atleast one of them at the very start of the game? It just isnt a very fluid mechanic and I dont see rockstar doing it.

I'm not sure if you have considered how the how garage thing will work then? and they are 100% confirmed too... I also don't think you have a proper idea of how servers and instances work either... it is very possible both front and back end for us to have player housing in GTA-Online. Using your logic, even if the cars just spawn at "a" garage, everyone's cars will spawn at a different garage...?

Also what if one house was preffered over most others? Then you have 24 people sharing one house.
VillNess
GTA IV had s****y servers... I lost all money I got on one weekend playing NOOSE to reach rank 10 ($5 000 000). I had 3 900 000 on friday and on sunday I reached 5 000 000 and then my ps3 froze and I was back at 3 900 000... Still haven't got any money back. I'm currently at 4 200 000 but I just can't make myself to get the last 800 000 I should already have... That f****ing Petrovic who forgot his brains in Russia it seems... I was thinking about that maybe multiplayer will have player houses. Properties you can buy in multiplayer. They could have something to do with other modes but atleast in Free Mode they could be used to get guns and bullets and access the garage. Only host's apartment could be used. He could also give rights to other players to add their apartments if they are still available. My only wish is that Free Mode will kick ass and that you have a personal garage where you can store or buy cars and edit them.
richard1997jones
I think that will complicate the servers and cause a lot of crashing or a lot more crashing if gta don't improve on their last game. I loved IV but it really p*ssed me off when the servers crashed.
MrcTOtheJ
I'm thinking Money will have allot more to do in V's online than it did in IV's. In V I'm thinking we'll be able to do allot of what we can in Single Player, get Tattoo's, Clothes, Haircuts, Cars, Boats, etc. (Cars and such could be stored at parking garages and spawned from a menu there since Property could be hard to implement Online) How we'd make it could happen in few ways, Robbing NPC's in free mode various mission modes, maybe Missions could be accessed in free mode as well? TheIllaDopest
The RDR and MP3 online had separate $$ and xp. The $$ in RDR you could gamble in card games with your friends, in MP3 you buy weapons and perks. Im sure V will be along these lines, or better. SuperCrayon
Personally i think they will handle MP or more specifically freeroam similar to RDR. I think the money will be our form of XP, but i also think it will translate into what starter vehicle we have, similar to our horse/donkey in RDR. That's why they talk about garages online and the special electric car. Freeroam will be the hub.

Good point but what about vehicles you spawn in no flying ones just ground or water like a car you can call in like in tbogt or the car is the car you spawn in the beginning of the game but you won't spawn in it ever again in that particular game unless you leave and come back with all the money you get at least a garage of some sort I mean the map is huge!! You expect to be at least more than one garage
HudS
I want the same multiplayer that there was in IV/4. The MMO style would be a nice addition but i still want to have the same simple multiplayer free roam that we had in GTA 4. Both would be great. GTAfan786
I think MP money system will be different and way more unique. You will probably be able to buy houses, cars, garages and whatnot, just like SP, but Rockstar knows how to handle the system, leave it to them. Pregnantplatypus
I could see how spawning in a car would work. Even if there was only one garage the game can save player data so each person could go into the same garage and choose their own personal cars in a saints row list fashion. kingbear08
Think about it what if you go to a garage say they are spread all over the map no ownership but you go there to change cars, customize your car, same thing with air port hangers you go to one to get a plane, or a marina to get a boat and the money you earn online will be used for buying cars for your online garage which you would just pick a car from the list when you visit a garage. Say I'm in a Sabre GT and I want to switch to my Banshee I go to a garage a list pops up where you can pick from your cars or buy more to choose from I pick my banshee choose the color, and customize it the way I want given I have the money to do this and I'm back in the game with a new car. This seem like the more plausible explanation. Would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Yeah the Saint's Row system with some tweaks could work wonders in MP. Since it'd be hard to implement property in it. It only works in a game like SA:MP where there are diffrent servers and each has it's own info etc. And I don't see GTAV taking that route. @Kingbear08 That's exactly what I was thinking could happen. Diffrent Parking Garages, Parking Lots, Marinas, Hangars etc. As for moding them, that could still happen at LS Customs arround the map since they're replaceing Pay 'N Spray apparently they should be somewhat common. I'm sure the money will also be used for additional clothing, tattoos, gun modifications etc.

If they implanted this in the game it could be a game changer MP would feel fresh I don't think it would. Most of it could either be on the server's side, and/or is allready implemented on the disk, things like buying cars, and guns and all of that are confirmed in Single player. There'd be more customization options since we'd be using our Avatars. But I don't think it'd be anything that'd take to much space at all, seeing as allot of it is implemented in Single player and can be ran Server side as well if need be.
