Check out the minimap, there's a home icon, and it appears to be in the middle of the ocean/lake. To me it looks like we will be able to use the yatch as safe house and move it around the map. On the other hand, Rockstar could have rebuilt the interior of the yacht completely. So we won't know how it looks like until the second half of September. I wonder if they also changed the form of the bow. Rockstar's designer added some details to the yacht: mouldings, deck lighting, those portholes, and the lower part of the yacht has a dark blue colour scheme. By the way, speaking about portholes, they have a nice detail - the hinges! What I also noticed - the yacht can get dirty just like a car!" Me: "In my opinion the portholes most likely looked static because the game, more or less, is in alpha/beta testing and it wasnt necessary to include that much detail. According to the above comparisons we'll indeed have a hot tub on the second floor and then a helipad on the third floor. The interior could end up being remarkably similar to the Max Payne yacht but if this yacht is purchasable the interior may be lavished up a bit. I'm expecting an interior where almost everything is accessible and detailed from the engine room to the polished veneer covering the walls. I hope this yacht is worth whatever it may cost. Honestly, I didn't think that this thread will get more than 100 replies. Thanks heaps! I want to apologize for letting this thread die. I was really busy and left the forum for a while. Now I have a little more time, so I'll keep watching this topic and post my replies more often than during the past two months. Now I'd like to comment on some posts of our memebers: Still, it's interesting to note the differences between this yacht and the one in V. This is an expedition yacht with a tall, flared bow for fighting heavy seas. The one in V is more of a harbour queen. That's an interesting point. Could this mean that the Marcelo's yacht from Max Payne 3 is more manoeuverable than the van Harednburg's vessel? I enjoyed exploring every inch of Max Payne 3's yacht. After the disappointing (read: non-existant) interior to TBOGT's yacht the one in MP3 had a lot of nifty details, things most gamers would ignore the significance of (like the contrast between the buffet-style crew's mess Max starts out in and the grander- though still hardly swanky- dining room topside) but which I gobbled hungrily up. I like the interior of the Marcelo's yacht too. Very detailed! I wonder if the GTA V's version of this yacht has the same interior as the Marcelo's boat in Max Payne 3. I think its clear that is not drivable. You can watch it so far, like a building, it doesnt appear like do a drivable vehicle (popping). This yacht is a huge vehicle (in case it is a vehicle). It's much bigger than a "Marquis" sailboat. It must be noticeable from big distances. Furthermore, Rockstar have done a great job with the draw distance. That's why you can still see it from that point being so far away from it. Just like that Atomic-Blimp I would imagine it's controllable, but very slow like the Tugboat in IV. Great investigation thread Thanks mate! =) But I believe this yacht is definitely faster than the Tugboat ;-) If a slow moving yacht would make the game lag, then what would a fast moving, low flying Andromeda do to the frame rate? I actually think you've made a pretty good point. And as above mentioned, the blimp is a huge mother. I for one, didn't expect us to be able to fly the blimp when I first saw it. That's a good point indeed. To be perfectly honest, I also thought that the blimp is just a scenery object like in Vice City. Yes, the pilotable blimp is proof that the new RAGEngine can handle very large moving objects on screen. Well, if we can drive a big ass blimp around in V. I guess it isn't much of a stretch for a yacht to be drivable. We can fly a giant blimp, why not a Yacht? I would lean more towards yes we can drive it than no we cannot. Maybe it and the Winnebagos we have seen can operate as mobile save points. Drive a Yacht and why not using it as a " house " beeing able to park your cars in it , sleep / save but i think it's too much ^^ i'll be happy if we can just drive it and get inside sigh.gif I found an article on the internet which also assumes that GTA V could have these so called RVs (Recreational Vehicles) for using it as safehouses wherever and whenever you want: GTA 5's Economic Rise to Luxury Yachts, RV I hear about it so often that I believe in existense of this technical feature in the game. I wonder if these romours are based on fact of existense of Campfires in Red Dead Redemption. Would be cool, but not necessary. I think I would be happier if they put in passanger planes.... No offense but who gives a damn? This is GTA for Christ sakes. Almost everything in the game is unnecessary but who cares? Yeah passenger planes are cool and all but come on who doesn't love a yacht? I've always wanted one in a GTA where you could cruise all over the map and then just park it wherever. You could tour the Alamo River of Zancudo River then just park it and gawk at the scenery. Whilst gawking at the scenery you could relax in the hot tub or tour the yacht. If we can drive the yacht I hope we'll have a fully -- or almost fully -- fleshed out interior. You'll have a bedroom, living area, dining area, kitchen, deck, crew room, drivers room, etc. It would be cool. Just imagine pulling out of the marina one dawn planning to go on a tour all around the map. It would take 2-3 in game days but it would be fun if you're into sightseeing and paying attention to how much detail has gone into the world. I could plan out a trip from the Vespucci Marinas up north to the Zancudo River, cruise to Alamo Lake, then head back north through Alamo River and continue my journey around the map back to the Vespucci Marinas. That sounds boring to many others, I'm sure, but it's awesome and relaxing/classy to me. This is exactly what I'm thinking about! I'm completely on your side, mate! It was either said in a R* interview or a Q&A session somewhere I heard that you can get a boat that's equipped with scuba gear that allows you to go diving. Yes, you are correct, but they were talking about a small boat like "Dinghy". We all are aware that there's diving in the game.....but it seems to me you're gonna need some dough to buy the boat before you can go diving in game. So if this luxury yacht is in the game then there's got to be more than a couple of boats you can buy once you have the bucks saved up. Maybe start with a wreck that just about gets you on the water and thats about it to big game fishing boats and diving boats to luxurious yacht's. Maybe you can even rent dive boats to start with?? This is probably what's awaiting us in this game. =) Oh my f*cking god! Can we actually own The Dignity? If we can then OMG, OMFG!!! Don't miss the scuba diver on the left. This actually sounds very plausible, especially considering the hatch in the back of that yacht is often times used to store jet skis, dinghies etc. Also, judging by the amount of detail put in the rear it looks like we will be able to, among other things, dock the yacht. It was the first game to ever use the rage engine so naturally it would be expected that it would have some hang ups. This is why it is just dumb logic to try and apply the limitations of IV's engine to V's. Because while they both use the rage engine V is much better exactly... even the blimp is enormous... if it the RAGE engine would still have such lag issues, they woulnt include a drivable blimp... so there is a very high possibility that we can also drive the yacht Don't be so sure, the game most likely will not lag if you operate this yacht properly. Besides, V runs much better than IV did and likely it's engine can handle more complicated stuff like driving a yacht at 40 miles an hour. And who are you to say we can't own this yacht? There is a 50% chance we will be able to own this thing or maybe we'll be able buy a similar yacht. It would be cool if we could own it but I wish there would've be a helipad where the hot tub is. Mobile command post. Agreed. I just going to say what others have said, if we can fly the blimp, I can see R* going all out and putting the yacht in. It will probably have some weird quirks, like players can't drive it past a certain depth to prevent it from being beached. Also, with the new emphasis on water exploration, I'd make a lot of sense to have a mobile safehouse on the water so players can save their progress out at sea, instead of having to sail back all the time. Well, moving on... I believe, nobody doubts the fact that this yacht was converted from Max Payne 3 indeed So, what facts do we know regarding this vessel so far? We know that this yacht is in game, and it's (obviously) a 1:1 copy of Marcelo's yacht from Max Payne 3 (or copy of her exterior at least) with some minor changes. The last screenshots with that yacht do slightly prove the possibility of this vessel being moveable, because it's depicted in different locations. Currently, there are 3 screenshots showing the yacht. The first appearance of the yacht on an in-game screenshot near the Pleasure Pier: Source: Screenshot #757* * - the number of this screenshot has been changed from 781 to 757 due to unknown reason.
