"GTA V looks dated"

Alright, if you want to look at every single thing in detail, sure V is dated. But those guys seem to forget that sandbox games are always lagging behind in graphic department (it's just harder to make an exceptionaly looking open world game than linear corridor shooter) and that an atmosphere is always a huge part of GTA's presentation. Sure, IV looks like cr*p by today's standarts, but I'd still say it's best looking game this generation. It doesn't have any cool effects like Battlefield 3 or Crysis, struggles with pop-in issues and blur and bloom are pretty awful, but when I'm walking down the street in Broker, it just feels real. Everything looks right, I feel like I am in a real street in Brooklyn. Or try getting in a helicopter during the night and fly high above Algonquin. The sight is just breathtaking.

 

I wouldn't care if V looked like IV, because R* are just magicians when it comes to graphics. I'm sure the game would look amazing anyway. But holy cr*p, it looks just as good as RDR, maybe even a bit better, so why do people complain?

That's because of the environment , sandbox games has always been about that (well, to me) the people who moans about graphics of GTA need to know that. Just look at Watch Dogs, all the developers talked about is how they made the peds and the environments more alive. In Sleeping Dogs, the environment feels alive too, but i have to say that IV still holds the crown for the most alive environment.

Look, as long as the game runs reasonably well (hopefully better than IV) and looks beautiful, I don't mind some technical hiccups. Of course there's going to be a bit of pop in and whatnot, do you seriously think we'll be able to fly a goddamn fighter jet without ANY draw distance/technical problems?

 

Realistically, I expect the lightning and everything else to be more or less on par with RDR, if not a bit lower even, since I'd argue the city of Los Santos especially will have more polygons on screen at once than any of the towns in Red Dead. Add the increased amount of peds and cars to that and you have a busier look than in RDR.

I have always had the mentality that as long as it has the same graphics as RDR, I'll be blown away. That game still blows me way in both visuals and gameplay. But I'm a little scared that V is starting to look more and more like IV - still okay graphics, but a step back from RDR. I hope it's like RDR: LA. That's all I want

No offense Lotus, but it's kind of silly to say GTA IV's are a step back from RDR's when it's 2 years older. For 2008 it was pretty darn good.

Problem with V on [current gen] consoles is , it will not look as sharp , detailed and crisp as IV is on PC with icenhancer 2.1

 

Took this screen yesterday. Widening the page on purpose so you guys can see what details 1080p has compared to 720p

in that case i prefer regular eflc i hate icenhancer

I meant the console version of MP3, since Rockstar have been showing V with the console version, i thought it's fair if we compare it with the console version of MP3, not the PC version, since PC version of MP3 looks obviously better.

maybe accept that pc version is better? with mods even 2 generations better

not graphic wise only but also gameplay wise, most console gamers havent experienced 60 fps yet so they cant even imagine how it feels. they think yea 15-20 fps is enough lol ...for me its almost unplayable

i don't beleive thats ingame i have only seen enb series looking this good from people who refuses to share their config which are people using russian picture uploading websites and german

the irony when you stole those pictures from the ENB thread. and next gen consoles can run games at 1080P at 60FPS. PS4 uses a GPU similar to the HD7870 so those graphics are pretty obtainable. and before you call me a console fanboy, im primarily a PC gamer

Yes. Yes it was. Who cares if this isn't super pretty? I think it'll still look great and, after a little while playing, you won't really even notice that any more. You'll be too hooked into the game.

V would surely have better graphics than a 2008 game. We're now in 2013 going on 2014. Yes its the same console, but they've been making improvements. If V was just IV graphics on a bigger map, we wouldn't be waiting almost 6 years now. Seems like some troll stuff from people that hate GTA. But anyway since we're on the graphics topic. Hell even in IV you could see a mole on the prostitutes and needle marks, maybe this time might even be able to see one of their pubes.

I know PC is better. Ofcourse it is better because it can update very fast and not once in 6 years like consoles. Don't you think we want the best experience aswell?

 

Console companies just do it for monies. They can keep the same console for very long and earn monies with it. I like consoles, but when I see certain things on PC I wish we could or had that too.

 

It's not our gamers fault, it's how the gaming industry works and it's their fault.
