MrcTOtheJ
I'm sure it'll look fine. As long as it's arround Red Dead Redemtion levels (which it looks to be, and RDR it's self while great for an open world game isn't super mind blowing compaired to other games) I'm fine. I mean of course compaired to the likes of Max Payne 3, and other Non-Linear games it won't look as great, they have to focus on the World It's self not just the graphics and a few small levels. Not only that you have the fact he mentioned the next gen, I mean no sh*t it will look dated compaired to what will be on the next gen.
simonp92
If you compare GTA V to linear games like Uncharted 3, yes it may look abit dated. However since it's open world, you can't really expect fantastic graphics, because of all the extra stuff needed to be loaded in, and yet still keep the frames high enough. I am not worried. I wouldn't mind if it looked like RDRedemption, which is now 3 years old.
slumdunder
I hear a lot of people saying that they will be happy if it is on par with RDR. RDR is my minimum expectation. It HAS been three years since then. What will make me happy? If it is on par with Max Payne 3. Oh boy the graphics on that boy were sweet! I couldn't believe I was playing on such an old console Of course, that game wasn't open world, and also spanned two discs on Xbox. So though I'm not confident it will reach that level of graphical fidelity, they've shown that it is possible, and I would be so stoked for it to be on that level! minwager
People seem to forget just how bad GTA IV looked on consoles. Everything was blurry and washed out, and it gave me a headache from playing too long. http://www.gtagaming.com/images/gtaiv/screenshots/319.jpg EDIT: Not to mention the sub-par textures and buildings. ChrisMathers3501
You people are stupid. The game isn't even out yet. "Dated." No other game has come out that does what Grand Theft Auto does so you have no basis on which to form your ignorant argument, but you make it anyway. Ten years ago, Doom 3 came out and the idea that any game since would have "bad graphics" took a chainsaw to the face. The ONLY game with bad graphics is Minecraft, and it's SUPPOSED to look the way it does because it's retro like that.

Don't pretend either, you know it ain't gonna happen. Anyway, anyone who's seen the comparison shots of GTA4 vs GTA5 and can't tell there's been a big improvement in the lighting is blind as hell. harry246
Since GTA is one of the only video games I play I don't care what it looks like. I was going to buy the Xbox One but now I know it can't play 360 games, I won't be purchasing it straight away because theres simply no point having a 360 and an xbox one when ill only play GTA V anyway. N0Xaeris
Grand Theft Auto V looks dated. With the new generation of consoles just around the corner Of course it will look dated if they compare it to next gen graphics... That 2008 Mustang looks dated compared to the 2013 one......that's basically all I hear when people compare things to newer things, like what were you expecting? I think V will have superior game play, and as long as i'm able to play without framerate issues i'll be fine. Hell, I play VC every so often, and the half a second it takes an island to load still doesn't kill my game play experience, yes, the physics are dated, but it's still playable(and challenging on PC to be honest)

Bantri
There is a ratio of quality (graphics wise) to content. GTA will have way more content and stuff going on than any other game. It's no comparison. Features to graphics on a scale of how much GTA 5 will have is blowing every other game into the dust.

MikeyBelic
Can I please point out that these demos were PROBABLY created before E3 last year. They were most likely also shown to those directors who saw V behind closed doors.

cp1dell
the opinions are quite divided about the graphics if you tell me. Yeah, it all pretty much depends on your standards for graphics. Besides that, Grand Theft Auto has always been behind on the graphics - leaving the gameplay to make up for everything. Take San Andreas for example. LotusRIP
If the graphics look like RDR then THEY ARE AMAZING... f*cking graphic whores. Exactly and im sure it will look like rdr and maybe slightly better. People who thinks its gonna look like IV are just simply stupid. I have always had the mentality that as long as it has the same graphics as RDR, I'll be blown away. That game still blows me way in both visuals and gameplay. But I'm a little scared that V is starting to look more and more like IV - still okay graphics, but a step back from RDR. I hope it's like RDR: LA. That's all I want

BlackNoise
I don't get why some people feel the need to state the obvious. I would understand if GTA V was a next gen game or something, but any video game journalist should know what to expect from a huge open world game on current gen consoles. What are they comparing it to?
MikeyBelic
Can people please stop with the worrying about the graphics? There's still 113 days to release, easily enough time for them to go through the game at least one more time and do a glitch/graphics tune. These demos have probably existed since March 2012, Take Two wouldn't have approved R* to show them before then, the demos were probably all made at the same time, we know for a fact they were shown behind closed doors at E3 2012. These are demos people, R* aren't concerned on how they took to the previewers, they probably haven't done ANY tune ups to them or if so it'd be the most minor graphics fixes and bugs fixes. Rock Howard
I think it will be like RDR. It wasnt perfect but all in all it looked fantastic. Yup, about that level with improvents I'd say. RDR's graphics were very good and GTA V's are better so it will be fine. It's just baseless whining from the next-gen obsessives.
Grand Theft Savage
Consoles are limiting them. This amount of content along with best possible graphics wouldn't even work on current-gen consoles.

Bertanius
You can't judge how a game looks until you actually play it. Besides, isn't it all about how much fun you can have? If you want to judge the graphics, wait for the PC version like I am. You can't really judge graphics on ancient hardware. As long as the game runs fine, that's good enough for me.
