Russian Preview had a good point

Ok in the Russian preview they viewed the heist where they smash over a security van which was part of the plan then two hired hands blow the doors off it. Then suddenly they get 4 stars and police descend upon them. Apparently there's like 100 police guys and helis to destroy.

Then after all that, the trio return to their homes. WTF? The Russian previewers do have a point..

To me and I'm sure you'll agree, if this was a well thought out heist plan, why then do they suddenly force 4 stars on us? Especially when you think of the conditions -

It's a well thought out heist plan

It's taking place in an alleyway out of police obversation

So why did they force 4 stars then?

It all sounds like a load of baloney to me.

Maybe we can block the entrance to the alleyway off so the police can't get in and stop the 4 stars? I dunno about this heist but it sounds ridiculous to get 4 stars. What do you think about this? Mistake by Rockstar? Or just to test how smart we can handle it?

I think it's a mistake, considering the aforementioned conditions.

Other previews have stated that police were called by an emergancy switch inside the security van.

If it was like you say well planned all the time then there'd never be any challenge against the police, i think Rockstar want to still keep that feature where after you pass the hard part there's still the getaway.

Even if it was a well thought out plan, there may still have been witnesses who would call the cops. If you do all that to a security van, then chances are the swat or fib or whoever will be after you... So a 4 star wanted level sounds reasonable to me.

And btw, not every well thought out plan will actually go according to plan... Things might get out of control..

Well if that's the case I will blow up the van so those guys can't press the button to call police

Together with the stuff inside the van which is the reason you are doing the heist in the first place?

The missions have to be balanced so they are not frustrating, or worse - impossible. For people looking for the ultimate challenge, the missions could come across as being easy, but that's the way it has to be to make people play to the end.

The mission replays will probably have objectives in them that will provide the challenge.

It's like saying "I'm 100% sure, but I could be wrong". Being sure isn't being correct, let me tell you.

I bet every single mission will involve shootout with the police or rival criminals, just like IV

Italian job style is needed - tow the truck into a building before you blow the doors off - that stops the helicopters getting a shot at you and could give you extra time to escape.

BUT I do think that all the planning will be scripted so you WONT be able to change to much about the heist, its location, how you do it etc...

This, and with bank or armored truck robberies, they know to be prepared. They'd swarm with a helicopter or two and SWAT teams.

This heist kinda reminds me of III era missions where suddenly you get police cars crashing into you and traffic from all angles. It's damn frustrating and I hope V won't be like that. It's ridiculous trying to get away and then BOOM you're wasted

It makes sense though from a gameplay perspective. I would hate to be able to make clean getaways throughout the game with no challenge.

How dull would that be?

I think they were just showing the action of the game with the three protagonist working together. Also Trevor had a RPG so that could get you cops.

Its a Gta videogame, It wouldn't feel right if Franklin Trevor and Michael minlessly cruised home after robbing a Security truck which is a Major crime, Even though Blowing up 20 helicopters and 50 cars is going a tad bit overboard.

Yes police like explosions don't they. It gets them excited.

This.

Also the other previews said that this is more of a mini heist, there's less to it, I'm sure that in larger heists it'll be easier to attract less attention to you with some careful preperation.

Even if they called the police from the inside, there might not be 100 of police cars and helis being there immediately. You should hear them in the distance and should have time to escape like it is in real or also in Heat which is clearly the inspiration for this mission.

Its based off the initial robbery from the movie Heat. Basically, as soon as the securicar is rammed, it sends a distress call to LAPD. The robbers then had to get out in under 3 minutes, as that was the time it would take the LAPD to arrive on the scene.

Maybe for the sake of the demo, they spent too much time and thats why the cops caught their attention? Perhaps it was simply to show off the combat system.

Remember the sharks during Trevors underwater sequence? Their agro level was toned down for the sake of the demo, but in the real game they will be much more aggressive. Similarly, for the sake of the demo, they wanted to show the combat system so they scripted in the police on purpose. In the real game, there might be more than one way to complete the mission - either by stealth to evade the cops, or by going Rambo on them like the Demo.

Just my 2 cents.

Why would Michael post Trevor on a roof with a sniper rifle and an RPG if he wasn't expecting trouble? He's clearly addicted to chaos.

This is awesome logic icon14.gif Good luck with GTA 5 if this is how you want to play ! lol.gifbiggrin.giflol.gifbiggrin.giftounge2.gif - only mucking about dude wink.gif

OT - The wanted system is still a working progress and don't forget we may be getting RDR style witnesses that can call the cops etc. I wonder if 4 stars (I understand though this mission was for demonstration purposes) was OTT for this heist. I can see bank heists up to 4 stars as there is more risk to human life as well as more money at stake. This heist I would've said should've been a 3 star IMO. 5 stars is military we reckon?... so these should be called when all out war is going down. I'm sure they'll sort it all out anyways.
