I really loved the old COD games especially 1-5. But I was disappointed w/t the other games onward.

The stories lacked depth and the adrenaline pumping scenes were overused as well as the later engines.

Neither of them. I prefer spending money on things worth something.

Battlefield 4 all the way. CoD is just pathetic now.

Not Call of Duty since I don't enjoy playing linear, restricted games.

Battlefield 4 looks like it will be another CoD/BF hybrid like BF3. Hopefully they go back to their roots and make it where teamwork is the main focus. Otherwise Battlefield will be labeled as a CoD clone by me.

Neither.

Finally got a chance to play BF3 and......boooring....63rd modern militaristic shooter with typical lame story.

So not hyped for BF4.

Battlefield came out before CoD so you can't label it as a CoD clone.

BF3's story was boring because it had less focus from the devs, unlike the MP w/c was their 1st priority.

I can if BF started copying Call of Duty.

BF used to be about teamwork.

Now it's very easy to lone wolf with all the nooby features.

Don't deny that battlefield has been dumbed down.

I don't even think the teamwork aspects are strong enough in recent Battlefield games to make that argument, Battlefield is better than COD because of the destructible environments, drivable vehicles, larger MUCH better designed maps, better designed game modes like Rush, better animations/graphics/AI/physics and so on. To be fair the list is endless.

COD is just some lazy half arsed miss match of random buildings connecting to random roads with nothing interactive or dynamic involved.

EDIT: And at least BF steps forward when they release a game, regardless of weather its a big enough step up or not, COD haven't advanced since they first released a PS3/360 title, and now the PS4/720 are coming they're still not advancing, more than pathetic.

Battlefield in no way is copying Call of Duty? Lol. Nooby features? There isn't perks in Battlefield unlike Call of Duty. Yeah they have different ammo types but that's typical and more real and better sought than some Lightweight/Martydom/Juggernaut/Double Explosives on one class, silly guy. Battlefield isn't like the BF2 days but that's due to technology and hardly no limits other than console performance and time.

Call of Duty is the same generated sh*t each year. Just different weapons and now you have drones/star wars walking f*cking AI machine guns and sh*t?? O.o Atleast Battlefield is moving through the near future in a complex way, not rushed and thrown out there with nano suits and gloves that make oyu cling to the side of mountains.

I'm definitely rolling with Battlefield 4. Larger maps, Vehicles, Teamplay, More exciting moments and of course, Destruction!

Personally i like both. I prefer CoD when i'm tired and just want to jump in and kill people with out much thinking. And i play BF for a challenge.

In my opinion both series are great in their own right. They both go after completely different audiences. CoD goes after the people that want an arcady shooter that you can pick up and play and they go after the people that are new to shooters because its easy to grasp whereas BF goes for the players looking for a semi realistic shooter with heavy tactical influences and requires strategy.

Its like the Tony Hawk and Skate series. Skate goes for the realistic approach and Tony Hawk goes for the immediate, mindless fun.

If COD truly want to be a good arcade shooter they should focus more on game modes like infected, or include maps like this...

You know, add some creativity, some imagination. Something to fully take advantage of COD's run and gun style.

Or at the very least they should use a new engine with graphics that don't look like they are from 8 years ago and actual existing animations...

This graph sums up COD..

I don't know why but this reminds me of the prison part on Assassins Creed 3.

And i agree, i hope Ghosts launches with some fun game modes like infected, gun game ETC. They made a nice change and are fun, i spend ages on infected with my friends. The lobbies are huge and it is one of the few game modes were people don't KD whore.

Also, the Chaos Mode was really, really good on MW3. But i felt like they released it to far into the games life span when a lot of people had already given up on the game.

The noob features im talking about are; health regen, makes medpacks useless and allows people to easily lone wolf

killcam, eliminates the need to communicate and having a recon

high amounts of health, this + regen helps solo play even more

Showing on the map when shooting; ruins element of suprise, punishes for shooting, eliminates even more need of communication and makes manual spotting less effective and useful.

Provided I have some net good enough to game with when BF4 comes out I may get it. I had fun with BFBC games, and I played BF3 a few times online at a friends and I liked it, and I’m normally not an FPS type of person unless it’s Halo, or Doom, or something in a non-modern/typical setting.

CoD hasn't done much for me since World at War or CoD4 which ever came last. After that it's just felt like an MW Rinse and repeat for me, and I hope BF dosen't follow the same path.

CoD is an excellent game to play when you have a 30 minutes to waste, since the matches are quite short and fast paced so you can play 3 completely different matches with 3 completely different game modes during that short time. Or when you're tired and don't feel like cooperating with a wild pack of other players or don't want to spend half an hour thinking up complicated strategy to get rid off defenders around the flag. You just pick up a gun and go crazy. It's a pure, distilled FPS fun.

Fun in Battlefield relies heavily on what players you have in the team. If they are good and coopeate to complete the objectives, the game is great. If they just run around and shoot people, it's terrible. The best moments in Battlefield usually happen in a long battle between two even teams. In CoD a great moment is to get a double kill on a unsuspecting campers, to get a good looking kill or to get a high kill streak. In Battlefield a great moment is to fight for a single flag for ten minutes and slowly push enemies back to get a control of it, or launch a coordinated stealth attack with a couple of teammates in the enemy's back.

I think both games are great at what they do and they deserve to be played and enjoyed for different reasons. But honestly, I don't think I'll get either BF 4 or Ghosts. Maybe somewhere down the line, when they'll get cheaper or Premium edition comes out. I didn't like BF 3 (too much obscuring graphic effects and I missed more arcade-y style of BC 2 with no prone, longer kill times and stuff like that) and if BF 4 isn't more like BC 2, I doubt I'll be very intrerested in it. And Ghosts will be exactly like any other CoD. It'll still play the same, no matter how many "trap" gimmicks they'll add this time. The good thing about CoDs is how populated they are, so I can still play BO1 almost three years after the release and unless I venture into some more deserted playlists, I don't have a trouble finding a game. And I like Treyarch's CoDs more anyway. Fu*k yeah, Cold War and WW2.

I don't see how Killcam is a noob feature? If you get repeatedly killed by a camper with a silenced gun, and he is using Assassin and a UAV jammer, without Killcam you most probably wont be able to hunt him down properly without getting continuously picked off.

At least with Killcam you can see where he is camping and work out the best route to getting to him. Hardcore mode has no Killcam, lets keep it that way.

Because games have to conform to all types of players, so elements like that are throw out there for the more casual or newer gamer.

If you want a better experience, play Hardcore. No regen, short health, blah blah.. You can't bash an entire game because you play on Core with easy settings. That goes for every game, each games has to tone down certain parts of a game to allow for it to fit with all genres of gamers.

Moral of the story, Battlefield is still better than COD man. Hands down.. but I agree with other people that say, 'COD is good if you have time to waste or just want a quicker run n gun way to play' .. Then sure, go for it. But for an actual decent military FPS, Battlefield conquers that so far on console.

That is one of the better things in Call Of Duty. That is why i loved the feature MW3 brought in, when you kill someone you can hear their raging and bitching for a view seconds after tounge.gif Then when you get back into the lobby people bitch and send you messages! I never talk back i just laugh and dry away their tears with a striker.

I kinda agree with iNero

Ok, you are right about the screaming kids in COD, but their aren't much of them in COD.

It's just because they scream that you hear them much, but actually their are more kids in BF. They just don't use voice communication in that game as much as in COD because they think there are much adults.

Thanks to those haters, kids are playing BF more. It's kinda funny if you think like that:

BF-fans go to COD-video's to place hate comments about the game and it's "amateur" community. The kids (thinking they are real hard-core gamers) believe them and go to BF so they can be "hardcore gamers" over there. Amount of kids raise in BF and decreases in COD.

Now I think about it, we should thank those haters. Now we are getting rid of the kids and while they are getting more tounge.gif
