For what reasons are you buying the SE/CE

At first I was going to get the CE but after thinking about it the price is just too much especially considering that I know the physical stuff you just end up collecting dust on a shelf.

 

I am however buying the Special Edition mostly for the digital bonuses but the steelbook and map are also pretty good incentives.

I won't be buying the Special Edition nor Collector's Edition for Grand Theft Auto V. I say this because, I already know that half of these features will be present in the standard retail edition of Grand Theft Auto V, but they just have to be unlocked. Rockstar clearly stated that when you pre-order any edition of Grand Theft Auto V between now and September 17th, you will get full access to pilot the Atomic Blimp in-game vehicle. I really don't need the blue-print version of the full in-game map because, the game will already have a full in-game poster map like previous GTA video games! Don't worry, I'll be showing Rockstar lots of support by just buying one copy of the GTAV!

I am torn to pieces over this whole special/collector's edition. For one I despise having to pay for in game bonuses that are already on the disc. But, as a huge GTA fan I want to get the deluxe package. Then again, I am pretty poor so it would be really stupid of me to spend $150 on one game. BUT GTA V is the first game I have bought since November 2011 so maybe I won't be so guilty spending a lot of extra money on the only game I buy in two years (probably won't buy another game til fall 2014).

 

So.... I just don't know.

Get the Special Edition. You have a much better chance of getting one at this point, and being only an extra $20, is much more worth the price than $150. For that additional $70 for CE, you aren't getting much else. Stick with standard or Special.

The Special Addition seems to be perfect in having everything that you'd want "extra" in the game. I just wish that it also would include the additional MP characters from other GTA's (e.g. Niko). Also, I wouldn't mind sporting that LS hat round town haha. Not too many ppl outside GTA fans would get the reference but hey, it's stylish as hell lol.

 

While I really think the SE would be more than enough, somehow I see myself splurging and getting the CE for $149.99. But hey that's what I get for being a diehard GTA/R* fan for years, eh?

if we want extra tatoos, extra weapons, extra cars, extra multiplayers characters and are willing to pay for it

Its always the same

You have gamers only interested in the game not especially casual

And then you have the frustrated people that cant get the upgraded editions

The latter are annoying

The extra money is worth spending anyway on a game as grand as "grand theft auto"

 

But I do wanna mention that it's complete BS that R* or T2 are only giving you this when you pre-order and/or buy the special/collector's edition.

A map, blimp and stunt plane trials should be included in every game.

I guess R* just has to follow suit. But it's sad to see this happening.

I'm pissed that they've stooped to the old 'charging you again for stuff that's on the disc' thing, but there we go. I want all of it. I don't want there to be anything that I can miss out on. I'm only getting the SE, f*ck the CE. The multiplayer characters I can live without, simply because I don't see myself playing much multi, and if I do, I want a character I've designed, not some old character from an old game.

The idea of side missions, like the stunt plane trials, being exclusive just pisses me off, but I want it. That said, I give it six months MAX before all of this content is available on the PSN/Live.

I got the SE because paying £20 extra for what you get isn't much of a bother; I quite like all the bonuses you get as well as a map and artwork book, so it didn't really take much decision into whether or not I should buy it.

"I want to show my support for R*", show your support for humanity, R* gets enough money without those extras for CE. :| They're just brainwashing you into buying day 1 DLC and sh*t, why am I wasting time? It's your money, do what you want to.
