For what reasons are you buying the SE/CE

Is it really that hard to add an other option for polls that require one?

 

I was looking for a reason to spend more money on GTAV to support R*. Buying 2 copies of V for my PS3 seemed redundant especially considering I don't have a job, so this collector's edition is very great in that aspect. Buying the CE is like buying 2.2 copies of GTAV (so I'm showing even more support than merely buying 2 copies), and I also get some great bonuses out of it - so I didn't hesitate to pre-order it.

Not having a job & thinking about buying the same game on the same console twice... Really bro?

As far as I can tell, you won't need it for the DLC because it will probably all come free with the rockstar pass. They did this with LA noire and MP3. No additional wait or anything.

 

In fact even if you got preorder bonuses with those games, it was STILL cheaper to buy the rockstar pass for all the DLC you didn't get yet.

 

Ill be getting the standard edition because of this. Save my money for the rockstar pass I will eventually buy anyways.

 

Though I must admit, that blueprint map is pretty damn cool. If the merchandise is worth it to you, then buying the special editions is totally justified.

I would like to have the CE just for the Characters for Online and for the Map (also in the SE but without characters)

 

Will probably just end getting the SE for the map and the most awesome Steelbook ever...

 

I just hope that the garage is unlockable and that the characters for GTAO become available for download as a purchase later on

You forgot to add the adjective 'Rockstar' to 'the same game'. Yes, I did consider it, but I'd do more than consider it If I had a job. Its OK if you disagree, because I have perfectly valid reasons - that's the end of that.

It's got a good bit of value for me.

 

The in game stuff is cool.

 

HotKnife, that's cool. Not really my cup of tea, but still cool.

Motorcycle, that's cool. Love me some motorcycles.

Garage, that's cool. Nice to be able to store vehicles right out the gate.

 

Khamelion, that's cool. Hopefully I'll also get a MP garage right out the gate.

 

 

 

What really sells it though are the tattoos and clothing options (particularly if they also apply to MP) and the physical goodies.

 

Happy to have more options to make my MP Avatar something I enjoy using, the bag and key are awesome, might actually wear the hat if it fits my freakishly large head, and the map looks pretty sweet.

 

 

 

If you don't like it, I can understand where you're coming from...but give R* a chance. These Pre Order DLC items are pretty minimal, it's not like they're cutting out entire missions (unless you count the little stunt plane bit...but clearly i dont)

 

 

Plus Art Book. F'ing Art Book. That, the hat, the map, and the bag/key are pretty much enough for me. Add in some inconsequential in game content. Golden. If there were a Making Of DVD too....

By that logic, the hat/money bag/paper map/artbook combo is worth $80-85. Thinking logically, are the snapback and money bag really worth that much to you?

 

I highly doubt that. Would any of you be willing to pay some $20 or more for these couple goodies? I mean, TLAD and BOGT cost that much at launch!!!

 

I got the Special Edition, because for just the $20, I get the map, clothes, guns, steelbook, and artbook. That, my friends, is worth it. However, for another $70, all you get is a hat, money bag, old characters for MP, and a hot rod...

There should be an option for "I love purchasing Collectors Editions of many games", most of my big time games that offer Collectors Editions are automatically pre ordered from me.. if I wasn't a collector I'd buy it for the DLC's.

Same reason I said f*ck the CE. The SE is 70 bucks cheaper and I can deal without a non-fitted hat I'd never wanna wear and a little deposit bag. The cars and the garage and MP skins would be nice but not for an extra 70 bucks with goodies that do not appeal to me in any way whatsoever. The SE at least to me doesn't seem like my wallet is getting raped like if I copped the CE instead.

Well first of all, I want to get the hat because I collect snapbacks and I would love to show the Los Santos styled snapback off at school and outside

 

I would also like to get the steelbook too because of the quality.

 

Not sure about the deposit/money bag, I don't use wallets or bags so I would keep it home.

Damn bro that sucks. I've always hated hats that are adjustable because I hate the empty space on the back above where it snaps in place and I've always worn my hats tilted to the right so snap backs are a no no to me haha. Flex fits are cool, they're comfortable.

 

But I mean obviously there's no way they would have offered fitted hats that would have been an incredible pain in the ass. That scenario would be like that episode of Seinfeld where George had Jerry call in a bomb threat and he requested fitted hats for the fans at the Yankee games and George was put in charge of figuring out the head size for 50000 people lol.

But I'll buy the CE because I want to have the possibility to use all the extra DLCs... Although I won't use the car, the bike and especially the free weapons too early in the game.. Don't want to make it easy just because I spent more money...

Anyway, I'd be buying the SE/CE strictly for the DLC. I COULDN'T care less about the other sh*t that's thrown in with it like the hat, shirt, deposit box ect. Its pretty useless IMO. The only great item outside of the game would be the blueprint of the map, which probably will be packaged with the standard edition anyway.
