For what reasons are you buying the SE/CE

I'm kinda curious to what was the sellingpoint for you getting an upgraded version of GTA V.

I was going to buy it but then I realised that there are two likely outcomes following R*s past games.

 

1) The extra DLC will be made for free later on (Special edition DLC is now free for both RDR and Max Payne 3.)

 

2) We'll still be able to get the items later on in the game. A weapon as simple as the hammer only being available through a special edition? I'd bet everything I own on the stuff being available later throughout the game. The wording in the pre-order information also leads me to this.."Players will instantly receive access" why would the put instantly? this to me implies that the rest of us will just have to wait until we get enough ingame money to buy it.

Theres no 'Both', or 'other' option. I'm getting the CE for the Digital stuff & the physical items. Plus I'm a collector, & I like to have CE for my favourite games. I like to have it, even if it is a little expensive.

I want that hat but I don't wear snapbacks. I wear size 8 fitted caps. I hope I can snap at least 4 holes on that thing, because I'm sure a snapback looks sloppy with any less than that. I gotta have those classics skins, and custom garage too.

I think the SE and CE would just distract from the main focus of the game, especially the in-game stuff. Instead of enjoying the game on impulse and being immersed in the world, I would just feel the need to force myself to use the weapons and the exclusive vehicles and costumes etc, and if I didn't, I'd just feel like I wasted my money, so I'm just sticking with the standard. But that's just me.

R* definitely knows what they're doing. The majority of people want the in-game content. This will be my first SE.

I personally am only buying the Special Edition for the blue print map. That is the coolest part to me, I'm probably going to end up buying a frame so I can't in anyway ruin the map. This is the first and probably last Special edition I'm going to buy, and again that's just for the map.

Tbh neither is why I preordered Collector's Edition... I got it because it's GTA. It's a very special game series, I just don't know how else to say it. I was years late to GTA 4 and to this day haven't been able to get it working decently on PC so now when I have the possibility to jump in early (and have just managed to quiet my Xbox down to tolerable levels), I might as well show my support to Rockstar by spending a bit more money and get some cool decoratives for my shelf as well. And the ingame stuff is cool too though.

 

Good thing I was following Rockstar on Facebook so I learned right away about the preorders, my retailer was sold out in matter of hours after posting them on their webstore!

Yeah at 1st I thought I would get the collector because of the DLC but I'm taking the special edition. Of course the multiplayer/garage things are going to be on XBL/PSN in a few months or so, if not too bad. I don't give a f*ck about that snapback with a fictionnal city on it, that's just gay, I wouldn't wear it anyway.

I was looking for a reason to spend more money on GTAV to support R*. Buying 2 copies of V for my PS3 seemed redundant especially considering I don't have a job, so this collector's edition is very great in that aspect. Buying the CE is like buying 2.2 copies of GTAV (so I'm showing even more support than merely buying 2 copies), and I also get some great bonuses out of it - so I didn't hesitate to pre-order it.

It's the new GTA, pretty damn special and it looks to be great!

 

I told myself from the start that I would want the full GTA 5 experience.
