iNero
we know that PS4 will have Gaikai. My concern for this is pretty obvious. The LATENCY. Most people have like a 50ms Connection ( I got about 13 ms on most servers ). That would mean you input would take 25 ms till its on the Gaikai Server and 25ms till its back on your screen. Now add the input from your controller which is about 6 ms. That would mean you have a huge input delay and Multiplayer Gaming would be impossible almost: first you have the usual lag from the Gaikai Server to the other players + the lag from your system to Gaikai. For comparison: the current consoles only have about 6ms input lag until you see it on the screen. So someone has an idea how they will fix this ( if at all)? input lag is horrible for me. ( i left out that it would need a good connection to stream games in 1080p ) I got 32K and on certain servers I can even download in 40K+ so I wouldnt have a problem with it if the servers are staple.) Ash_735
Well, for PC titles they usually run them at double the framerate to the response is quicker, quicker to get the input, quicker to output the signal, running on top line hardware at ABOVE 60fps gave roughly the same input lag as the game being locked to 30fps on Consoles. Not sure how they'll work around that on consoles, but the PS4's video processing is meant to help with that using a similar method that nvidia made up to compress and transmit the video at the same time it's outputting to reduce the latency. OysterBarron
If this service is like onlive then the response time will be barely noticeable if at all!
