Triple Vacuum Seal
If I ever see GTA for more than $60, then I' stealing it just to make a statement. No game should be sold for more than that much in 2013. @OP where are people paying near 1k? You know all currencies aren't the same value right? Happyness
Yes I do realize that not all currencies are the same value, but I posted that "1k" as a "rhetorical" price. ( Did I mention it right?) But some people are willing to spend more than $300 for their games (DLCs included)
Fuckoutdawhey
Anything above £40 is pushing it for me. Remember there's a lot of young guys on these forums that will have it bought for them by their parents. Although my parents would never have payed £100 for a game, I don't doubt for a second that a lot of parents will.
dxbrandon
I just bought 2 copies of the CE, came up to 305.76. Was costly, but worth it to me.

If I was ever rolling in billions, I would dish out about a billion per GTA to R* North so they could have a decent-sized map though. (it's a joke) I would "donate" to R* North (after charity of course) if I were a billionaire though. It would certainly up the quality of life in my sedentary years as a senior citizen. Nemesis2252
what i dont get is the price difference between the special and collectors editions. the collectors ($150) gets everything the special ($80) edition gets plus a hat, a money bag, and 4 in-game digital content pieces. i just cant see that being a $70 price increase. dont get me wrong, i can afford it. i just cant justify it. maybe its just because im frugal (or just really f*ckin cheap) but that extra cash could buy another brand new game and maybe a pack of gum. so special edition it is. Braindawg
I hate piracy tbh Then you're an idiot. Sorry but piracy saved my ass from wasting money on sh*t games countless times. If I like the game I pirated, I'll play a level or two and go buy it.
LewisMiller
I make £775 a month I don't mind spending £120 on a game that I've waited 5 years for, worth the money to me considering one can easily spend £60+ on a Saturday night.

Yes, you go ahead and download a game, try a level or two then go buy it, but hunderds of thousands don't. Did you even see the level of piracy in Middle East? 90% of games here are pirated. Sorry but me as a future programmer I wouldn't want to spend my f*cking hours on a game when someone can pirate it, I'll make sure to make a way around. LittleBlueTroll
^ Exactly, my parents never even allowed me to purchase original games until I explained to them why it is important (mostly for MP and I hate piracy tbh), I barely can convince them to give me some extra cash to get a game and I see people claiming that 60 euros is too low for a GTA game, games shouldn't even be that expensive at all. Maybe you should ask the shop worker if you can pay for the game in sexual favors rather than cash? If he says yes you will have to be willing to gobble up the penis and EARN your copy. Anyway, i work in a place that sells games. We get all games come in 3 days before release day, and we get a LOAD of copies if they know it will sell quickly. For example i took this 3 days before Modern Warfare 3 was released: If i was nice i could pretend a load of copies didn't come in and give them away for free. But I'm not nice. Mwaha. Leezy810
Yeah pirating will never stop. It's just the way things are today. But today's developers deserve it for the way the try to squeeze every dollar out of there fan base.
Liudeius
Well then you should just wait for the $20/$30 sales. But games are getting extremely expensive, they can't start them off at a $30 price mark. Personally, I would gladly pay $60 for an experience as fun and large as GTA will likely be, and I would not at all be against something like GTA selling for more than say CoD (CoD dev time = retexture, rebalance, sell as a completely new game relying on multiplayer to make up for the 1 hour campaign. GTA = build a massive 60+ hour single player game from the ground up with complex worlds and a top of the line physics engine.) I will not though, because pre-order bonuses are bullsh*t. (That and I'm a PC gamer anyway so I can't buy it on release, if at all for PC. Also $150 is just absurd.) The fact is, the $60 price point will probably NEED to be increased if we are to see more expansive games on the level of GTA and Elder Scrolls. Look at Kingdoms of Amalur. That game is pretty good, there are a few hard edges, but it's better than Skyrim in combat, quests, and variety. Yet it was a MASSIVE failure simply because you can't make back the cost of a game so expansive without having a big name like Elder Scrolls behind it. JB94
UK are getting bumped the hardest if you compare the prices. So I'm sticking with the standard. Just be happy you don't have to rely on UK retail for your copy of V.
erextion
I'm paying 150 Dollars, 1299 Norwegian kroners. I think that is a reasonable price for such a great game Well, you're not actually paying that for just the game are you? That's gotta be the collectors edition. We Norwegians are maybe a little more lucky with our economy than other countries in Europe, but i don't see why a game should cost more than 50$ anyhow. The money R* made of GTA IV is ridicioulus, and the money they're going to make off GTA V is going to make the project a giant surplus. 20 million ++ sold copies of IV - just imagine the sale numbers rockstars new baby are going to hit. There's a reason why the pricing on games are what they are. They probably wouldn't sell half the copies with a starting price around 100$, because if they could - they would have done it already. It's just not viable.

Masher8559
As a mainly PC user, i normally pay £30 for my games at release, so getting this on PS3 for £40 is already costing me more than normal. Stuff paying a £100 for collectors edition.
GlitzyTomb
Having a job helps a lot I'll be getting the CE not just because of the Physical and In Game extras, but also because I have had a lot of fun through the years with the GTA series and I want to support Rockstar. Kinda the same way some people will put in money for a Kickstarter for Ron Gilbert, only Rockstar don't bother with Kickstarter.
