I'm glad I'm getting the Special Edition then. Don't really care for something I'll probably never touch, let alone use.

this. 70 dollars more for a cap and bag...

the only thing I would like about the CE is that you feel badass to have one lol.gif

If you want to look at it from a business perspective, get your hands on a GTA V CE, sell it for the same 149+ 89 = that way you can sell it and get the SE for free smile.gif FREE GTA V SE

you know what?

Ill pre order CE and SE and will decide in october which one ill cancel. probably ill change my mind then biggrin.gif

Pre-order my Collector's Edition at my local GameStop yesterday. If the numbers are that limited everywhere, then I can probably look forward to being mugged on Sept. 17th at the midnight launch for my Collector's Edition.. lol.

I don't want the physical things and I think the in-game stuff will be available later anyway.

Another quick tip (mainly for U.S. and GameStop customers): If you already preordered the standard GTA V but want to upgrade to the Special or Collectors edition, do it fast! According to the sales clerk I talked to at GameStop, since GTA V is a popular game, they will only be allowing people to upgrade their preorder for a few more days, if any Collector's Edition pre-order slots are empty of course. Also, the Standard Edtion pre-order amount is $5 and the CE version is $25, but you only need to pay 20 extra since you gave 5 originally, so be prepared to shell out some extra cash. Just an FYI.

Hey Hviterg, you should also add another tip to your OP:

Even if you don't have the money, or are waiting for a possible next-gen port, or if you're not sure if you want the CE yet, just pre-order the CE anyways ($5 minimum), and you can cancel your pre-order, downgrade it, switch console versions (eg PS3 to PS4), and/or you can pay the rest later if you decide you do infact want the CE.

Because of this, I recommend everyone to pre-order the CE ASAP if they're so much as considering the CE. You have nothing to lose - you can only gain.

Good tips man!

I'm not sure what the current "stock" "order" status is for CE in the U.S, but hopefully there are still enough to go around for the biggest fans!

Yes, very true my friend!

Is it really only 5dollars minimum?

In Norway you have to pay a deposit of 50kroners(5euros) for the regular version, and 100kroners(10euros) for all CE/SE.

I think CE will be unavailable everywhere when the game is released. How much do you think will people pay for a CE edition then? biggrin.gif

My bad, its not like that here in Ontario. My friend had $5 on GTAV since 2012, and he just stepped into EB Games and upgraded his Pre-order to the CE without paying another cent.

At least enough to make back the money you payed for CE, and if you are a good business man, you get him to buy you the SE ontop of that.

Yes, you should order two. Have your friend/buyer pay for the CE he is buying from you, and a SE for yourself.

I actually think this is a good idea, somebody should follow trough tounge.gif

Wow, things must be bad at GameStop. They've started to advertise on GTA Forums.

Microsoft killed the used video games star.

Tell me, does your employer know you are making advertisements on their behalf?

Advertise?

Do you have a degree in marketing?

Where is this non-sense coming from tounge.gif

Why would this help gamestop? Gamestop does not make much money selling new games, they make most of their money selling used games / DVD's.

Um, news flash, GTA V is going sell like what... 20 million+ copies? Many of which are going to go back into the used games market. As you say, where GameStop make most of their money.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, hey?

Yes, indeed desperate times. I was trying to help out fellow GTA fourmers, by telling them to buy the copy before they were sold out.

I bought one myself, out of the 4 we got in our store.

Many fans will miss out on this opertunity, and please go troll somewhere else.

Yep, Australia is SOLD OUT completely. I called up EB Games at about 3:30pm Friday. So it would have sold out very fast, similar to what the OP described. I heard there was only 19 to go around us aussies.

Best selling game of all time?

There's a lead time before they'll show up in your local territory. Keep a close eye on the websites of...

Fnac, Saraiva, UZ Games, Livraria Cultura and Walmart

#GTAGIRL69,

The sole purpose of this OP, was to inform fellow members that the CE is extremly limited. Most people planed on waiting before pre-ordering, that is why I knew it would be a good idea to inform everyone that many stores are sold out, after only one day!

There is no, "Que"/"what".

You understand what I'm saying. Did someone not treat you properly while you were visiting at Gamestop? Is this why you show such strong negativity towards the company and it's employee's tounge.gif ?

Interesting, but shouldn't the same rules apply? If you decide you don't want a CE after all, can't you simply downgrade/cancel the preorder and get your money back? You guys should still have the same freedom that my EB Games allows us.

Oh yeah you can. I was just surprised that yours was a $5 minimum. Games that are $60 you can put $5 down (at least for Gamestop). Usually for Special Editions that cost more you have to put down $10 or even $25.

I see - I guess I can understand that. I wonder where else this policy is in effect. I want to know if my EG Games is in the minority or the majority...

Nonetheless, you still have several options to move around your pre-order how you want to. Cancel + refund, downgrade, pay later, switch platform, etc... And that's all that really matters.

I pre-ordered two of the CE a half-hour after my Gamestop was open.  I was told also that I was the first person to pre-order it.  So I thought that was neat since that has never happened to me.

Congratulations man! well deserved wink.gif

Thanks. I thought it was neat. biggrin.gif
