I'm more than happy, LC was big enough already, I didn't want anything bigger.

Happy with a smaller than expected city map that is not a true video game reflection of it's real-life counterpart ?

I guess some people are easily pleased.

The same people saying they're happy with it being a little bit smaller than Liberty, will be the same ones to marvel when R* announces a bigger city for their next game. The point is these people will eat anything R* hands them. Typical RDF members.

p.s. I'm happy that they're thrilled, but don't try to insult my intelligence with sh*t like, "I never wanted a bigger city." F*ck outta here.

What the f*ck is an RDF member?

Reading your post and your sig, it seems to be your word of the day.

RDF "Rockstar Defense Force"

example:

R*: The new GTA City will be a little smaller than Liberty City.

RDF: That sounds great!

R*: The new GTA City will be a little bigger than Liberty City.

RDF: That sounds great!

If there's one thing games have taught me is ...

A big map can feel small, and a small map can feel big.

Depending on the layout.

And the usages of the certain parts of the map.

Also, you people are acting like you're not gonna be doing anything in the countryside and water.

For me, the most intense car chases take place in the countryside like this.

Running from the cops.

In the middle nothing.

Looking for the nearest town to try to lose the cops.

Are you going to rob a bank in the countryside?

Are you going to scale down a building and do a smash in grab, with a helicopter above, and friend on the other roof with a sniper rifle?

Are you going to customize your car at Bobby Joes farm?

Are you going to get your $1000 suit at Mama Abigail's Thrift Shop?

Are you going to lead a high speed chase down the Los Santos River in the countryside?

Are you going to Buy a Penthouse Suite complete with Helipad in the countryside?

The countryside will be a lot of fun.

Climbing, Hunting, Exploring, Rednecks, etc...

But 90% of the missions will be in the city.

This game is going to kick ass, but mostly because of the city.

Probably because Rockstar has never failed to deliver.

Even by today's standards...

Vice City's 2 generation old map is still amazing for most people.

Maybe telling you that Vice City is my favourite Gta, that San Andreas was good but not awesome and that Gta IV sucked to me may help you realize that I'm not a fanboy and that my opinion deserves as much respect as yours. I hope so.

This Vice City argument does nothing for me. Vice City was the biggest open world game when it came out, so of coarse we loved it. It was a kick ass game.

You do realize that even though the countryside is full of rednecks, it's gonna be mildly civilized, well...

The civilization will be what was given to them (Banks, bars and land).

What they're giving back wont be civilized (The cars, the shops, and the pedestrians).

Liberty City was the single biggest city in a GTA game ever (Biggest city, not biggest map) and Los Santos will be about a 100ft bigger (All I need to be honest).

The map probably wont get repetitive as long as the missions are spread out over the city.

Nope.

Vice City was significantly smaller than LC in GTA3.

Guess what?

No one gave a f*ck.

You know why?

Because they added great features.

It is all quite subjective is in't it? For the last year and a half we've been waiting for what is the 'biggest and boldest' GTA so far, and with GTA's many, many fans there are going to be many, many, different viewpoints of what that is.

Myself, I am satisfied from what I've seen. Most estimates put it at roughly at Algonquin, Booker + Dukes level. Small that LC, but GTA IV and a good chuck of EFLC took part in most of these areas, so that makes me happy. This is before we see the full map itself, I think 'small towns' is being overlooked somewhat, the last game we had small towns was San Andreas, and the scale has been upped, these small towns will defiantly be away from Blueberry and Angel Pine size, perhaps too generously I think we may be getting scales similar to that of Bohan.

Not to say I don't have some sympathy with those who want a bigger main city -- I'd like one too but I'm far from unsatisfied from what we have seen so far. I'm quite interested to see other settlements, I adore GTA IV but there has been the sense of travel missing in the game, compared to SA's driving from city to city, or city to settlement.

Even if it's as big or slightly smaller than LC, that's big enough.

LA Noire already tried a massive scale replica of LA and it was boring.

LC was pretty samey and didn't have enough variation or thigns to do to justify its size anyway.

Anyone that voted no is being incredibly unrealistic and a bit greedy. What's there will be detailed. If it were bigger, it would lose detail. Simple stuff, really.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

I don't think it'll look bigger than that to be honest.

For me, the probably with LC was that it was big, yes. But it was the only thing, you were in it at all times, so it got a bit repetitive.

I think having a countryside will balance that out.

I hope..

So your saying the rest of the map isn't detailed then, right?

You should think before you post.

I have no doubt that R* could make a huge detailed city.
