StangOne50
I started playing this game again after a few years . I have to say I do not remember the story missions being this easy . The side missions were all dam near impossible but as far as the story missions I have made it to the third island in just a few days I could have this game beat easily within a week .. were as the paramedic mission took me a week alone The Big race in the game turismo I beat on my first try Any one else find this games story missions to be fairly easy ??? GTAKid667
Well, the game is 10 years old. In 2001, people would have thought it was a hard game. Now, in 2013 we are used to the missions and so it becomes very easy Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar

It doesn't get easier over time, you just get more used to the game itself. If you were to give the game to a guy who never played it before, they would probably have as hard of a time as you did the first time you played it. Pyrrhic
When you re-bought the game did you get it on iOS? Are you currently playing it on iOS? If not, what platform? I play the game on both PS2 and iPad, and it is certainly much easier on iOS for multiple reasons. • Lengthened time limits • Dumber AI • Easier controls • More responsive vehicle handling
Arsen Vitiuk
I play the game on both PS2 and iPad, and it is certainly much easier on iOS for multiple reasons. But as I'd see it, it takes the challenge away. PS2 version is far more trying...

Arsen Vitiuk
I guess this is due to the fact that you got used to the game over time, learned everything you could learn about it and now you play it without even thinking about how to do some mundane things - questions newbies would sometimes desperately seek to answer. It is the case with everything - you'll have to agree, doing something you know how to do is much easier than doing something for the first time - even if it's the same thing. And the same applies here.

But as I'd see it, it takes the challenge away. PS2 version is far more trying... Now, I have the android version of GTA III and while I think most missions are much easier, I find 'Bomb da Base' much harder as the sniper rifle has very very slow aiming. Jericho176
I find GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas very easy games... but for me, GTA III is the hardest one. The cops know what they're doing, unlike the ones from Vice City.
GTAKid667
^ I agree with you that the cops in this game really do not take for messing around which I find kind of fun, trying to dodge them Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar
GoldenBlade
In this case, it all depends on the person. Some may find GTA III easy, yet some may find it very hard. Personally, I play on Xbox, and I find the game pretty easy.

Some will find it easy as they are used to those sorts of games etc. Give this game to a new-time player and they will find it difficult Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar

grosso2626
I still haven't beaten the game. I've gotten to Shoreside Vale twice, but then decided I wanted to go for 100 percent both times and was forgetting something important. So now I just got to Staunton Island and am finishing off Portland so I don't make side missions there impossible again.
GTAKid667
Grosso2626 It is always better to do Side Missions and quests (e.g. Hidden Packages) as soon as possible (Start of the game) as you can roam Liberty City with only one gang in the way! slowhands111
You could play in topdown view, which was a nice feature. The race game turismo is much harder in topdown view.
GTAKid667
^ I think the whole game is harder in top down view. It is the case with everything - you'll have to agree, doing something you know how to do is much easier than doing something for the first time - even if it's the same thing. And the same applies here. This is true for me in some GTA games, but not others. The GTA 3 era games is when the series got a bit easier to play. I've been playing GTA since it's first release in 1997 with GTA 1 and I have finished the original GTA games a few times and to this day I can say....I have not gotten much better at them in all these years....they are still balls hard games....the first GTA is undoubtedly the hardest GTA game for me....it is so unforgiving....one hit kills when shot, armour only adds 3 hit points, relentless....I mean RELENTLESS police chases....I feared the cops when they blocked the roads with machine gunner cops and chase you with near blown up cars....so they would ram you from behind and explode. Not to mention you only have ONE attempt at missions....mission fail is mission fail for good, so raising points for the next level was always hard. Some levels take anything from 3 to 4 hours of solid abuse and there is no save during a level...no the game only saves after a level is complete, which made the game almost an endurance test. Still though...loads of arcade fun and challenge. GTA 2 was also rock hard, but it was a bit more relaxed than GTA 1, but not much. Then GTA 3....the most difficult of the third person GTA games, but still pretty easy. I did find it harder when I first played it, and of course I got better at it and the game is only really hard for me on a couple of things (Those silly off road challenges) but other than that it's a nice game to play through, I don't find it too easy and I don't find it too hard. So with some of the games I have gotten better at playing and others I still have a really hard time. But in general I had found, even first time playing that most GTA games are just not that challenging. Even for some of my friends who were new to the series could pick up GTA 4 or Vice City and just breeze through them.

I'm sure those that were GTA Players at the time (Who have played either 1, London or 2) could play GTA III in top down view as they were used to it.
