Then watch it again.

 

Look at all the details. take it all in. Slowly.

 

Hell, try to focus on only one thing first.

 

Let's say... this

 

Count all the unique animations

of the npc's.

 

Understand what you just did. Understand what it all means.

 

Think about it.

 

Hmm, those Mexicans in the back of that truck is probably on their way to work.

 

Damn, so many poor people living under the highway bridge, looks like one of them is just waking up.

 

This bouncer is clearly not taking any sh*t from that drunken customer.

 

Not cool, why is that well dressed African American man making a very subtle dismissive

hand gesture as he passes his fellow kin.

 

She is checking that jogger out, in a not quite so subtle way, fortunately, her friend points it out to her.

 

Phew, even though they are in love, I still imagine it must be very exhausting for these tourist to hike through the forrest hills.

 

That guy sitting on the bench, holding his golf club, is probably up next.

 

Look at the poor guys coughing. Working in the field is especially hard every time the crop duster passes.

 

You can add on yourself. There are a lot more. And this is only one trailer.

 

Now try to say this to yourself.

 

This is not a movie.

This is not a tv show

This is not a CUTSCENE

 

 

NOT A CUTSCENE

 

This is the GAME you will be able to play in a few months.

 

A game, where you will be able to DIRECTLY influence the outcome of every situation described above.

 

Will they live or will they die ? In a fire ? or by grenade ? Or by ... you chose.

 

And remember you will do this all this, supported by tighter and more

precise controls, the biggest arsenal of weapons so far, the Euphoria

animation system in all its unpredictable glory, and...and...and.

 

 

Seriously, I have not even talked about the characters,plot,story,mission, side-mission,activities, mini-games.

 

Actually, I have not said much at all.

 

All I have done is try to change the focus a bit.

 

Change it from fixating on the suggested size of Los Santos

and the in-game content of the collectors' edition.

 

To me, this game is confidently shaping up to be THE most

accomplished open world gaming experience.

 

That is my personal opinion.

 

And every time I read something negative, and almost let is affect my joy of anticipation,

I go back and watch the trailers, look at the screen shots and remember all the positive confirmed information.

 

Then I sit back and think about what it all means, all the options and opportunities,

and after a little while....

However this won't change the opinion of people. They still will call Los Santons small and they still will be disappointed. You know what? Don't care what other people think, care for yourself. If you (or me) think the size doesn't matter then it's all good. What matters is the game, the interactivity, the atmosphere, the contents, everything. And top of all we got a fairly big sized city (I don't compare it to anything.. nor to LC in IV neither to any equivalent) plus a huge countryside.

 

Some people have other preferences than you and me. You just have to accept it. In the end we all will play the game anyways.

Of course, you have seen the trailer. You have most likely watched the trailer many,many times.

 

However, you have probably also FORGOTTEN the message and promise of the trailer.

 

I know I had.

 

When I imagine relocating Micheal, Franklin and Trevor to GTA IV's Liberty City, I breathe a sigh of relief.

 

I'm so happy that about all the TONS of changes and additions present in GTA V compared to GTA IV.

 

Especially when I realize what the sum of ALL these changes will mean to life span of this game.

People are not thinking about the bigger picture. We are about to embark on an experience that could change gaming forever. Quit whining about a tattoo or a dlc hammer, and just appreciate the game for what it is. Also, I can't wait to revisit the forum a couple of months after launch,

when everybody is experimenting with the physics, easter egg hunting

and creating youtube videos.

So what if Los Santos is a tiny bit smaller than Liberty City... Who f*cking cares, It's about the elements you can do in this game,

the story, the music, the characters... And you complain about a 10 percent smaller city with a huge amount of smaller villages and

mountains, with wildlife in it? And Rockstar tells the map is the biggest yet... dudes serious stop complaining, Rockstar won't let us down.

 

What we get:

A epic story with three characters

Fully customized multiplayer character

Mini games like tennis, yoga, bike races and much more

Animals in wildlife and underwater

Car tuning (like Midnight Club)

Tattoo's, hair cuts and clothing

Buying properties like a taxi company and a helipad

Buying vehicles

 

and much more...

 

And you dair to complain about a city that's ten percent smaller than Liberty City (and the fully map isn't revealed yet) And

if you still crying go play GTA IV...

Also, do you guys want one more comforting fact about this overly sick game? Chances are that R* will release the digital content to anyone who bought the game "in a few months" or so after it's release Just like EA (fanboys commin' to criticize me) did with BF3, where if you pre-ordered the game, you'd get a Streetsweeper, an Pecheneg LMG and an extra attachment for the SKS right as you started playing Multiplayer. 2 months after BF3's release, anyone could go download it. Knowing R*, I'm sure they'll do something like that for Christmas

What's awesome is that trailer doesn't even show much of the ghettos or the rich part of town, or even the small towns and trailer parks, and we haven't seen the animals, AND THIS IS ALL JUST STUFF IN THE BACKGROUND! This game truly will be the best of this generation. Cannot wait.

But the first thing I care about is the "city of los santos", looks smile in my eyes but in the coming months I will see the truth cause I can't see anything yet, the other thing I am all hype about since the first time I knew it. Agreed, the city of L.S is about 60% the size of Liberty city so I don't see why people are bitching, LS is just a small area in a HUGE map... and I loved games like test drive unlimited where you could just hit the road and go one direction forever. This game sounds bigger

I think it's a good thread. I agree with every word of the OP. I get tired of all the f*cking whiners. It's refreshing to see a post that's so positive and reinforces my excitement for this game. I'm old. I was around when Pong was invented. I have an appreciation for what they are able to do with video games these days and how far they've come. I will be honest. Los Santos does look small to me, judging by what we can see from the map, but I don't really care. I know the map with be huge & insanely detailed & I will love this game more than any other, & I'll probably see it as my game of the xbox 360. I am a little disappointed Los Santos couldn't be a little bigger, but When I do what you say, like looking at screenshots or watching trailers, all that disappears from my mind, & I just smile & get excited.

 

I hope people read your topic & just share our opinions....

I agree with you. It's only human. When you are confronted with a lot of negativity it's difficult not to let some of it rub off on you.

So yeah, that is certainly part of why I made the thread.

 

I also agree, that these types of threads have a tendency of coming off way too sanctimonious and pretentious. Mine included.

However, nothing mentioned above changes the fact, that everything I wrote is true.

To echo another poster in this thread, all of this is just something happening in the background.

 

So yeah, I did re-assure myself, but I can also tell from some of the responses that the thread had the effect I intended.

 

In the end we will all win, when we get to play GTA V
