Do you want SE/CE conent to become DLC in future?

The question asks it all, do you want it will become DLC in future? And do you think it will become DLC in future? Why or why not?

 

Currently I am unable to afford either the Special or Collector's edition currently, but personally in future (when I hopefully have the money) I will be willing to pay full price for this content if Rockstar is kind enough to fans to release it to everyone.

Yes. I`m not that rich to spend 150$ on a game. So yeah, I would like to see exclusive weapons/cars/clothes/tatoos in a DLC. It would be really cool if they released a DLC that is focused on cars, for example: import tuner DLC that includes GTa versions of some famous import tuners, like Eclipse 1999, Skyline R34, Supra etc. I`m a huge car fan, so the more cars the better. Ooooh I can`t wait to tune them up and make some epic high speed car chases and crashes

This has been my train of thought. I mean they'll make a killing off people who pay $150 U.S. just for this content, but they'll make an even bigger profit when they release it months down the line.

 

Just wanted to make this topic to show Rockstar that since (for whatever reasons) we can't all get hold of these versions, we still want the content. Even if we have to wait a few months for it.

I'd rather prefer it as a free update months after release, kind of like timed exclusive. Most likely won't happen.

It will be released as DLC when the Special/Collector's Editions are no longer available in stores, meaning Rockstar can't make any more money off the additions unless they release it on PSN/XBL.

I hope there's alternate versions of the collector/special edition stuff, but not the exact same thing.

 

Like the bonus clothes are another colour, the multiplayer characters have alternative clothes, the bonus vehicles are another colour, different guns.

I don't want Rockstar to give these out later on as DLC, but I know they will. Take Treyarch for example. They ran a pre-order bonus that would give anyone that pre-ordered the game "exclusive" access to the map "Nuketown 2025". Once the game came out, they ran that for a week before taking it away. Then they put it in a small playlist so that it could still be used, but less often. And they eventually just told everyone to download the game update and they would have access to it. (Even the people who didn't pre-order the game)

 

That isn't a direct comparison of what Rockstar is doing, but it does match up pretty close because it is about "exclusive" content. I'm sure that all of these fancy things will become free for everyone to download, or at least purchase. It will happen for one of two reasons, the first being that it was Rockstar's plan to release the content to everyone later on, or because fans griped about it too much. The only reason that Nuketown 2025 came back at all after the first week of BO2 was because the fans wouldn't quit raging about it, which is understandable, considering that Treyarch practically lied to them about playing it.

 

I understand that a lot of people don't have the money to get the special/collectors edition of GTA V, but I still don't think that gives them the right to just expect to get the content for free. If I pay more for the game, I expect to get more out of it.

I can't see why anyone wouldn't want this to be released. Unless of course they're planning on buying the CE and want to feel elite. Which I don't get. Why does it make the thing less special if more people have it? I'm buying the CE because I work 40 hours a week, and quite frankly, I deserve it.

 

And if R* does release this stuff later, you can bet it's going to be at least a 40 dollar value, as they won't want to screw people over with the CE's.

 

And I tell you this, If it wasn't for the extra vehicles, and the garage, I might just buy the SE. But the CE is just too tempting.

It is likely it will be. I also think PS4/XO versions will get all the DLC as part of the game plus extras to guarantee you to double dip.

UK are getting bumped hard. (using the current £1 : $1.513 exchange rate)

 

£65 for the special edition compared to around £53 for the U.S.

£120 for the Collector's compared to £99 in the U.S.

 

I'm getting the standard because those editions are a massive rip. I might as well import.

I Can't afford 150 bucks right now either, but there's still 4 months. My plan is to pay some each month and afford it that way. I know everyone's finances are going to differ though, but this is just an idea for anybody in my situation who are willing to pay 150 but cannot fork it all over in one go...
