Will GTA V be slow when you play it on the Ps3

uhm RDR was not even 720p on ps3 and it was average 24 fps, console dudebros think 24 fps is a smooth framerate because they havent seen 60 fps 1080p yet suicidal.gif

So what?

As a result it looked smoother and has a steady FPS. I'd take that over a 720p laggy game anyday. I have seen 60fps 1080p and yeah it is better but I couldn't give a f*ck. I'm happy with my PS3.

Previews have said that the game ran great on PS3 and that's not even the finished version.

V's performance will be better than IV on PS3 but not as good as on X360.

IV was postponed because of weak performance on PS3.

..and yet, Rockstar have shown all the previews on the PS3 version..hmm. No game developer/publisher shows off the weakest version when building hype (hence no GTA IV or RDR PS3 previews, but LA Noire was shown off on PS3).

I think we are heading for another Max Payne 3 type stalemate, where it played great on both systems equally.

yea wait 6 months and get spoiled by the entire story while ur at it. This is the reason why console gamers hate PC gamers

Hate? You can't even form a proper reason.

"Yeah! I hate you for being patient, and trying to avoid the storylines being ruined for you!" DERP!

Back on topic, Rockstar obviously feel confident enough to show off the PS3 version this time. Yes, it's going to drop frames when there's a lot of action on screen, it's never going to run at a constant frame rate of 30FPS. Memory constraints will also mean cars/peds appearing out of no where, and then vanishing again as you turn round.

Go into the game expecting this sort of thing, you'll enhance your enjoyment of the game. smile.gif

No, the "Im better than you" attitude some pc gamers have is the reason. Its pathetic and they tend to be the ones calling console owners kids.

Actually it was the PS3's fault for the lag

Do you even know what lag means?

This thread again huh?

Developers LEARN how to get MORE out of a console over the lifetime.

People say GTA IV pushed consoles to the limit? HAHA, nooo, GTA IV ran on a sh*tty engine that was only Xbox 360 focused at the time.

It's been FIVE YEARS since we last saw a GTA Game on a console, that's HALF A DECADE.

Compare GTA3 to San Andreas, both PS2 games, both amazingly different, that was only a three year difference.

Rockstar have plowed a crap ton of money into RAGE to the point where Max Payne 3 really shown off what it can do (especially on PS3 and PC).

Unlike GTA IV, the Max Payne 3 version of RAGE ran at full 1280x720p on BOTH consoles, used newer AA methods (instead of the outdated QxAA blur that GTA IV on PS3 suffered with) and hosted a whole heap of extra grap[hical options on the PC version.

The Max Payne 3 version of RAGE was greatly enhanced to deal with stress and performance issues, both console versions ran safely around 30fps easily even hitting 35 and 40 at times, the PC version also ran smooth as butter compared to GTA IV, despite it using multiple forms of AA, SSAO, filters and effects, etc.

Team Bondi did NOT use RAGE for L.A.Noire, they used an edited version of an existing engine and then customised it, initially, for PS3, the game performed best on the PS3, I'm sure Team Bondi would have also shared some knowledge with Rockstar on what tweaks they made to make the engine perform so well on the PS3.

Look at other games, come on, seriously, compare titles from 2007 and early 2008 to titles released now, they get soo much more out of the hardware now, if that's what other companies can do, do you seriously think Rockstar Games would skimp out now? GTA V is going to end this gen with a bang, they're going to use this knowledge and work and make sure GTA V looks great, performs great and is just overall great NO MATTER WHAT PLATFORM IT'S ON.

F*ck yeah, thank you.

Yeah fully agree with the point of comparing GTA 3 with SA on PS2, it was the same console but you can't compare them..

To be fair, if any of the consoles is suffering right now, I would assume its the Xbox version because it hasn't been slow. The PS3 version (based upon the trailers, screenshots, and gameplay) looks fine, actually a lot better than GTA 4. Remember when GTA 4 wasn't shown for the PS3 and the PS3 version turned out to be slightly inferior? To me, it looks to be the other way around this time.

They won't release a game which can't handle above 25 FPS. If your PS 3 is old, worn off or on the verge of breaking, then maybe it'll run slow.
