car deformation/damage?

Just curious if their has been anything said about the car damage/deformation? I've always thought gta has done it the best over any other game. Can only imagine how good it'll be in gtav.

 

Not gonna lie, ill be a bit sad if it isn't good.

 

I'm on my phone so, a bit of a pain to search around and what not.

 

I don't think much, if anything at all has been said about it? Maybe its still being worked on?

Definitely it is going to be improved than what it was in IV, I'm sure the deformation will be larger this time around. If not, then damn you R*.

I think they would have just turned it off for preview purposes. I mean they would'nt want to total a car while previewing. Anyway, i hope its better and improved.

No doubt it'll have to better. I was actually pretty happy with how it was in iv. Though I can definitely see improvement. I remember somewhere, I just can't remember where I saw it, they mention it'll be a lot better, and more realistic.

 

So I'm petty excited. You know those accidents where you blow a red light and accidentally slam into a car. Hoping for some nice carnage.

 

I would assume it wasn't in the preview, or the trailers. No preview said anything about it. The crashes in the trailers didn't seem to do anything to the cars. So I assume its still in development.

I think they turn off the car deformation when showing off the game, just to make it look better. I know they haven't dumbed down the physics, don't worry smile.gif

I hope the car physics are truly heavier, I was sceptical at first about the racing controls, but I dont want my car to literally fly away if I end up racing down a mountain going off a bump and having the car fly 2 miles away from the mountain like san andreas. If the car damage is also improved it should be a blast racing down hills and mountains.

However, this is only a general positive paints. On some controversial moments I will now. First, it was demonstrated deformation physics machines. Rockstar employee intentionally crashed into any obstacles, and when touched the bar, it was clear that the car was left without a scratch. Therefore, we can conclude that on this element of the game is still intense work and they are not yet ready to show it. Perhaps we are in for something even more ambitious?

 

Whatever that means.

Some previews seem to show car damage not being in, or at least not "turned on" at the time (potentially due to continued work on the feature). It was mentioned in one of the Russian ones...I'm not sure about others. I would have to assume it's at least as good as IV.

Aahh, I didn't notice the Russian preview. Good find. Glad to hear someone finally mention something on the subject. Maybe we are in for a treat than.

In the 2nd Trailer at 0:56 you'll see some damage, looks like IV.

Burnout Paradise did it way better than IV, I hope V has deformation like that.

In Burnout you TOTAL your car. We don't need that in GTA V. It was great in IV, maybe just a little bit more damage.

 

Also, there is one picture with a slightly damaged car, that with a white car in the airport and Michael is driving it.
