Isn't that what video games and most other forms of entertainment are about? Really, what the hell makes it so great? People tell me that running out in the desert or forest could be interesting, but what's stopping you from letting go of the trigger or arrow key or whatever you use and pretending it's out of gas so you get that same excitement? Why force it on me? What does it add that you can't already do? You just sit at the pump and wait for the tank to fill. What is so great about that? If that's the case, we would have had to fuel cars in GTA IV because of the Karin Dilettante. Electric cars are very popular nowadays. I mean in IV they specified the Dilettante was a Hybrid (as if it being a Prius wasn’t obvious enough) and it had nothing to do with fuel or anything. It'll also mean that the car will likely be silent, or nearly so. It may also mean like other electic cars it'll acelerate rather fast due to having instant torque but may not be the fastest out there either, so basically quick of the line but don't expect to win on a flat out race. Electic cars are a bit of a trip, personally I'm looking forward to having one in GTAV. (I'm not an Eco nut and I prefer good ol gas but I find them Unique and some are pretty cool like the Tesla Roadster and the Fisker Karma/Sunset) Basically everything BlackNoise said. Probably didn't drive it much though. No it wasn't the Gas motor was going. I think both were going at once maybe. But it had exaust and made a Combustion engine noise. IIRC. Then when you're done, watch it again and again and again. Why? Because that is what that'll add to the game. It could take six years to run out and that wouldn't matter to me, because you still have to sit through that or lose your favorite car to the desert that everyone apparently loves running out of gas in. Seriously, keep watching this video. Ask yourself if you really want this. If you think refuelling's dull, wait until you have to recharge your electric car. By some research I read, all the cars in the world pollute yearly LESS than all the world's mooses' farting does. And you still have to produce that electricity somehow! My mate has a Tesla Model S and aside from it being one of the most futuristic feeling cars I've ever driven it's a pain to 'charge' as it takes such a long time. I'm sure it will have some kind of advantage over petrol fueled car in V but I can't possibly think of what. But only from 0-100kmh because you have all the binary (NM) available. Once you hit 140 or 160kmh, petrol or diesel (i hope it is in) will say bye bye to electric powered cars. They only have 1 (forward) gear, and huge amounts of torque. This means you get ALL the car's power whenever you go full-throttle, and can keep going all the way to top speed. In a petrol car, sometimes you'll need to change up (or even down) a gear to get more power, and obviously keep changing gears as your speed increases. The superior acceleration could be a pretty big advantage while being chased, by other players online or by the cops. Does this actually confirm that the cars will need fuel? San Andreas had different engine types (Petrol, Diesel and Electric) but there wasn't fuel, so no - it doesn't necessarily suggest to that. I'd be disapointed if all it was, is a silent car that's basically a copy paste of all of the other higher end cars in the game. But I have faith they did allot of things pretty well in IV. Especially the fact that you have all the power on tap right there, so it should accelerate like a bat out of hell, not be the fastest on the high end top speed end of things but it should make allot of other vehicles it's bitch off the line. @SPEEDDRV There were Diesel cars in IV...okay not really cars but the Semi's and Armored cars and such all had diesel sounds to them.
