RedDragonsBOOM Posted May 23, 2013 Share Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) I have been looking at the GTA V Collectors Edition news that launched today and have been reading the descriptions of separate exclusive items you will receive in the collectors edition. What caught my eye the most however is that they describe certain elements of the multiplayer in minimal detail. What I noticed the most is that they call it 'Grand Theft Auto Online' not something like 'GTA V Multiplayer' or just 'Multiplayer' They call it 'Grand Theft Auto Online'. To me something like Grand Theft Auto Online means that it will have some elements of possibly an MMO or something on a slightly large and similar scale as one. One thing that kind of tips this off to me besides the name is in the description of the exclusive cars you receive in the collectors edition is that is, it says "In Grand Theft Auto Online, players will get the high end Khamilion electric car" (bleh electric cars). If you are receiving a car online then where is it going? Im sure its not just exclusive to your racing collection on multiplayer as Im sure it would have stated that. What that sounds like to me is that we will be probably buying cars the same as we would in single player and possibly buying garages or something similar. What this all, plus the addition of a 4th character slot on the single player character selection which will also be your multiplayer you can switch to any time. What it all leads me to believe is that the Grand Theft Auto Online feature will be much more than just the same free mode component we had in IV, more than Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer had. I feel like the Grand Theft Auto Online feature will be very parallel to the single player experience only with 100's of actual other players thrown into the mix. I feel multiplayer might be a whole new game this time around. With depth and a persistent evolving world. I might be wrong. It might just be exactly like Red Dead Redemption's online. but we will see more definitely in the coming days, maybe even weeks. Im extremely looking forward to the new style of Online. Maybe since the Grand Theft Auto Online has been revealed(GTAO for short) maybe some of you could list what your thoughts or ideas are on what that name might be representing. The feature GTAO might have in it or how it will act and react how we play. As more official news comes I will be adding in all the new information to this thread and also expand on what they might not be telling us as well. Feel free to add you own ideas, opinions, and theories below. As well as any information you come across from credible news sources to help this thread grow and to be more informative. If you notice in the "Digital Content" section they note Grand Theft Auto Online and the unlock-able Khamilion car. Also with this electric car makes me think that this fuel thing and gas for your car might have an impact on this game after all. B.c why else would having an electric car be so great. Makes it sound like a standalone game; it certainly seems like they are truly taking this bold new direction and giving us a completely fresh approach to multiplayer. The integration of your MP character being included on the character switching d-pad menu, as well as todays news of there seemingly being a lot of customisation makes it sound really good. It sounds to me like they're doing something similar to what Need For Speed Rivals is doing (announced today) where you drop into multiplayer a lot more seamlessly, where the multiplayer world seems a lot more alive and feels closer to the single player.
