I think it's funny that all these people complain and are realy angry about it but at the end of the day they are still gonna buy it. What are you trying to achieve? The only why they do this is because it works. Make a statement and don't buy the game or don't complain about every thing you don't like about it.

I didn't pre-order GTAV on purpose knowing something like these special and collector's editions would come along. Just hope they're not stupidly priced now.

You're over simplifying. If the special edition was £49.99, I'd likely have (begrudgingly) got it. £10 extra for a nice shiny box, a pretty map, and a couple of extra things to do sounds fair enough. But I can't justify an extra +£25 for those things. They're sure to have some saps who have convinced themselves that it's a fair price, but I'd hope there are far more people out there who, although they wouldn't have minded paying a little more for these extras, have the restraint to recognise a bad deal and will instead plump for the lesser standard edition. Rockstar perhaps then won't rake it in as much as they thought.

I'm cancelling my preorder cos of this

£60 yeah ok but £120

Btw in GAME it's 119.99, (saw it with my own eye)

Might that change? Doubt it. Gonna go gym then march in there and get my money back

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Looks like it:

Still a ridiculous amount of money for a game, despite the smattering of tat you get with it. I don't imagine it'll get many takers.

Feed Me A Lolcat

I don't really care about the physical content, never have.

Really they would just end up collecting dust. The dlc content on the other hand irks me.

What I know is all the exclusive Max Payne 3 dlc was made available a few weeks later

I'm really hoping for a season pass.

No, stop complaining. It seems whatever they do, someone has to complain about something.

I'm gonna complain about their marketing. Not the game. The game should be 100% of what you pay for. Not broken into parts that you need to pay extra just to access certain things. That's f*cking retarded.

DLC is optional. It is not something you need to complete the game. If you want to spend the money, do. if you don't, don't. You can still buy the special edition for 10 bucks more and feel special. I will feel like a collector.

I wonder if the stunt plane challenge(s) will be added towards 100% completion.

If you got that DLC installed then yes, but if you don't it wont affect you..

Also the blimp will be useable for everybody who pre-order a copy of GTAV in any shape, from standard edition up to Collectors edition.. So don't worry about that part

EDIT: Forgot to say that CE is extremly limited when it comes to copies, it is meant as an item for the most hardcore of hardcore fans out there so most of the content will come as standalone DLC later on wink.gif

What a stupid thread. You do realise that you will STILL get to fly the blimp and get tattoo's in the game and more OBVIOUSLY, the clothing is already in the game.

How can we fly a blimp if its in a DLC.

You can say its a skin, but the vehicle is called atomic blimp, you think they have another called blimp?

ffs it's not DLC. DLC = Downloadable Content. You can't even download the stuff you get if you pay more.

It's gonna be limited to whoever pre-orders it and probably gonna turn free once the game gets a GOTY/Complete edition. A waste of lots of money just to get a few weapons, tattoos, cars and abilities early. I bet you're not even gonna use that dumb looking flame shirt Trevor's wearing after the first 20 minutes of gameplay.

I really don't care about minor features such as clothing, weapons etc. It's when they start butchering missions that would annoy me. I wouldn't be a happy camper if there was an exclusive heist for the SE and CE.

Ubisoft are bad enough when they do it with AC and even worse when it's console specific. Small features are fine, but missions are not IMO.

I don't see how like 3 vehicles and some extra clothes really make that big of a difference. Maybe the guns, sure, but most of these are just minor add-ons, and it doesn't really matter. Considering the amount of work put into this game, they deserve all the money they get, and i'm definitely pre-ordering the special edition. Also, games have been doing this for quite a while now, and i'm pretty sure nothing is going to change. Hell, it's probably going to get worse as time goes on.

And hes is asking you to do something about it

I wish the next GTA would have tons of sh*t taken out, and have a ridiculous price on a 'special edition' so you people would wake the f*ck up.

I'm talking about a $200 "Deluxe Edition" which includes almost nothing besides digital content. You'd get like a GTA toilet paper roll, a pen and an ashtray. Everything would be sh*t taken out of the game to represent "additional and exclusive content"

I'd like to see people saying what they are now.

More like Rockstar's New York office is gonna go up in flames. But it takes a tragedy to get people to realize there's a problem, doesn't it?

Its like going to McDonald and asking for a hamburger and only getting a bun. The meat is extra.

I realize this is an older post, but that was a really stupid comparison. It's more like ordering a hamburger and being charged for extra pickles. Sorry. Again, I realize that was an old post, but god was it stupid...

In fact Rockstar has been doing such stuff since Red Dead Redemption, you may remember they offered various pre-order bonuses, just as a special war horse which runs faster and stuff like that (i think) and two other things I can't remember atm.

Same goes for LA Noire and last years Max Payne 3.

With GTAV they still may give pre-orders of the game "exclusive" content, just like access to the blimp or additional clothes, tattoos to choose from, etc. BUT they learnt from the negative feedback of giving away tidbits of exclusive content when you pre-order at different stores, like when you pre-ordered MP3 at gamestop you got that Cemetery multiplayer map, when you pre-ordered MP3 at another online store you got those pills for multiplayer, when you pre-ordered MP3 again at another store you got other exclusive stuff like a poster or so. With Grand Theft Auto V they - thankfully - don't seem to do that anymore, this time you get one package, which contains the same content all over the world, in every store - you get some digital content as well as some physical content and access to the blimp for pre-ordering the game.

I don't think that's a bad deal at all, I for myself pre-ordered the standard edition way back in November, next week I'll upgrade my pre-order to the Collector's Edition (or Special Edition) - haven't made my mind up as of yet - so all in all Rockstar learnt from recent mistakes like those hundreds of different pre-order assets coming with MP3 depending on the store you pre-ordered.

Both recently announced Grand Theft Auto V editions - so the Collector's edition and the Special edition - are great deals for every GTA and Rockstar fan and a must have for exclusive Rockstar swag collectors (like the Security Deposit Bag with Logo Key) in my opinion, that's why I'll buy one of those editions.

Also in the near future after the launch of the game, all the digital content will become available for download for every other player of the game too - just as it was the case with the MP3 pre-order content - so don't worry about that.

About the price of the Collector's Edition - yes for sure $150 is anything but cheap - but let's think of it, Grand Theft Auto V has been well in development for over 5 years, Rockstar promises - and from what we've seen so far it by no doubt will be - it's going to be their most ambitious game yet, both in scale and content - so I for myself think it's just fair to pay around $150 for such an amazing game, and always keep in mind - THIS IS EXCLUSIVE PHYSICAL CONTENT you won't find anywhere else, unless someone sells it for hundreds of dollars on ebay or so ...

Rockstar isn't like EA, Ubisoft, Activision, etc. - they treat us with respect, lots of respect, they care about their community and fan base - they care about all their franchises, they want every game to be better and more groundbreaking than their previous ones - they'll once again redefine the videogames history when Grand Theft Auto V hits stores September 17

IT IS JUST FAIR TO SAY THANK YOU BY BUYING ANY EDITION OF THE GAME, be it the standard one, the digital one (via PSN or XBL), the collector's edition or the special edition.

In my gaming history of a good 15 years now, Rockstar never disappointed me!

Lol, 'exclusive Rockstar swag collectors'. That's the gayest thing I ever heard.
