Well, the Special Edition announced today, to me, was a little bit disappointing. I will still buy the game no matter what, but there is some things that's confusing me and I'm also a little worried. Let's see if we can get some things cleared up here.

Point 1:

When visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer.

Okay, so does this mean that the special weapons are just free and you don't have to buy them, or does it mean that the special weapons are ONLY available if you get the Special Edition? If it is the second case, then that is very disappointing because I missed the hammer and other tools in Vice City.

Point 2:

Players will instantly receive a garage to store custom vehicles. In single player, the garage will be stocked with the 1930’s style Hotknife hotrod and the CarbonRS sports bike. In Grand Theft Auto Online, players will get the high-end Khamelion electric car

So, does this mean we won't be able to buy any garages to store our vehicles in the normal edition? Or does it just mean we get one already available? I hope garages don't get cut from the normal edition!

Point 3:

As an additional bonus, those who pre-order any edition of Grand Theft Auto V (including the Special Edition, Collector’s Edition or the standard retail edition) between now and September 17th will get access to pilot the Atomic Blimp in-game vehicle.

What the hell? So, you're telling me that if we don't pre-order, then we can just forget even thinking about flying the blimp? sad.gif That makes me sad.

Point 4:

Get classic Grand Theft Auto characters to use within the Grand Theft Auto Online Character Creation System.

This majorly pisses me off. I would love to play as new, HD versions of the old characters. I would have been in shock if I would've figured this out when I tried out multiplayer, but nope, gotta shell out $149.99.

I just think that this would have been so much better in the regular game. What about the people with no money that would love to have stuff like this, like me. I wish, with everything I have, that I could pre-order to get these awesome features, but I simply don't have the money. I am kind of disappointed.

Does anybody else feel the same?

All content is either unlockable or will be on PSN/Marketplace to everyone. R* don't limit people from getting in game items and I do not expect them to start doing it now.

Dude chill. It doesnt cost anything to preorder. And if you dont want to pay what theyre asking then go play something else. What did you ever do for them? Why should they hook you up?

I think it's too expensive, here in Sweden it's 1799 swedish kronor it's equal to 270 USD! What the hell? It's bloody expensive, and i'm in a poor condition right now.

But I need it, I can't stand to not have something complete

Same here man, but still...

Instead of people talking about me complaining about it, we need to discuss the points I made. I'm still confused about them.

Everything is still very unclear and hopefully R* will clear up any confusion in the upcoming weeks.

However here's my input.

1. "Players will instantly receive a garage to store custom vehicles"

The fact that it says instantly leads me to believe that this is for the people that want to start finding nice cars and storing them right away, whilst the rest of you have to wait until you have enough cash in-game to purchase a property with a garage. The keyword is "Instantly receive"

2. "When visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer."

I believe the special weapons are only for the special edition due to the fact there would be massive outrage if you could still obtain it relatively easy.

3. "As an additional bonus, those who pre-order any edition of Grand Theft Auto V (including the Special Edition, Collector’s Edition or the standard retail edition) between now and September 17th will get access to pilot the Atomic Blimp in-game vehicle."

This is probably for people to fly a blimp that says atomic on the side where the rest of you will have to fly just a plain blimp. I'm thinking along the lines of Just Cause 2 parachute, the pre-order one was red and the normal one was black.

4. "Get classic Grand Theft Auto characters to use within the Grand Theft Auto Online Character Creation System."

Nothing to say here. Perhaps you'll be able to get them once you hit the highest level? and this is for the people that want it straight away.

I'm curious about the blueprint map as does this mean that we will not receive a map in normal purchases?

3. Yes. But it will be released separately at the xbox or PS store.

Okay, so the Game will be out in 3-4 Months and they are showing us right NOW an addition?

Why cant they bring these features also on the Normal disc? All editions will release at the same Time!

The game isn't out yet, and rockstar is showing us parts of the game they will cut out. facedesk.gif

We can't know for sure obviously, but it only says that we'll be able to get those weapons for free. Which kind of implies that they're in there regardless, but they're not free.

part 1: this is the hardest to decipher, but I think they are just available for free, not exclusive.

part 2: Normal version has garage, just in this one you get it from the start (with a couple of exclusive vehicles)

part 3: no blimp without pre-order, but pre-order doesn't cost more so there is no reason to not pre-order really if you are 100% sure on getting it.

part 4: classic characters are exclusive.

however, all parts will eventually be available for paid DLC or in a GOTY edition like RDR. 100%.

Eventually everything will be available to everyone.

1. Thank you. I hope that's what it means. The way it's worded is weird. It could mean "You get special exclusive weapons in the Collectors edition and they are free," or "The special weapons are in the normal game, but you have to pay for them. They are free in the Collectors edition."

2. I think the Hotknife and CarbonRS are exclusive vehicles, along with the multiplayer exlusive "Khamilion" electric car.

3. Fair enough. Or it could mean what DrewyR said. It could be just the Atomic blimp that is exclusive, but you get to fly normal blimps.

4. I was just thinking it would be better if the HD classic characters would be so much better in the "vanilla" version. It would be so much of a surprise to everybody. People who didn't know about the special edition wouldn't be able to be surprised by that, because it's not in the normal game.

Start saving money, you still have 4 months till the game gets released.

Assuming you already have the money for the Standard Edition ($60) just save about $20 each months and you're good to go.

Or beg your parents that they'll buy it for you as a really early Christmas present.

Or get a job during the summer.

At least I hope so.

I might save up and try to get this, but still... 150 dollars is till a good chunk of money for a game. Of course whenever it happens, I will be getting the complete edition of GTAV, or a GOTY edition.

Okay, come on now. They said you can fly the ATOMIC blimp. Not THE blimp. It seems pretty clear at this point that there will be blimps you can fly in the game. I'm sure not all the blimps say "ATOMIC" on them.

No, it is NOT true. You just miss two or three extra airplane challenges and outfits/tattoos. And you miss getting a few weapons, two cars, and a garage early on. The game is complete, this is just extra stuff you get IF you buy the collectors edition.

will the blimp be in the normal version? Will it just be locked so you cant get in it? Or will it land in the special edition version?

how the hell do you get in a blimp that's up in the air and the flight deck is under it anyway?

Will it take 5 hours just to fly the thing over the map because its that slow. If so It might be quicker to just walk anyway.

From Rockstar's twitter account, the Standard, Special and Collector's Edition if you pre-order, will have unique code that you will have put in that will unlock the blimp.

Most likely they'll do a Rockstar Pass like the last few titles they released. If you preorder you get the mentioned stuff right away. If you don't, wait 6 months and you'll get it. Happened like that since RDR. You'll get it, just not right away.
