The only thing that is making me even look at the Collector's Edition is the multiplayer character content, but it's not worth 70 extra dollars.

I like the features, but I'm waiting for retailers to reveal their prices before I pre-order it. If it's something like £120 - as people are saying - then I'll look at the other editions.

That's not saying that it's the only way.

It seems to be saying exactly that. Or do you mean that we can pay for it as DLC, either way it's bullsh*t. Really poor show from TT. now even GTA is out to squeeze us.

I think they are very unclear.

They haven't stated if the cars and the garage will be available to normal people, just those who grab the collectors get that early.. which is really annoying and quite misleading.

If I am honest, it feels like Rockstar are going down the EA avenue. I am quite disappointed with it really, I won't be forking out another £70 for the collectors, and once again UK gets shafted by having to pay an extra £20 over what the americans are paying.

*sigh

So if you're going to get it on release day anyway, what's the harm in pre-ordering the game in order to get the blimp?

I don't want to buy any special edition though, i just want the standard version. And even if i didn't, what if i weren' going to get it on release day, what about the people who can't buy it right away and need to wait till the end of the month etc? They're paying full price for the game, why shouldn't they get the full game?

Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire (unsure of MP3) had pre-order exclusives. You couldn't even own them all the first day unless you pre-ordered 3 different copies of the game. Anyways, a few months later Rockstar re-released all the pre-order exclusives again as payable DLC in the Marketplace. The blimp will probably be available for purchase in the Sony Store or the Xbox Live Marketplace.

You guys should be appreciative that Rockstar isn't making 3 separate DLCs for 3 different retailers for V. Anyways I'm sure that blimp will be available to purchase as DLC anyways like the other pre-order exclusives for RDR and LAN.

I felt like this sh*t was an april fools joke. I thought this has to be a joke, some joke, somehow. "Ensure you get to pilot the blimp" are you serious? Big let down, is nothing sacred anymore?

It's BS. So much for a "bold and innovative marketing strategy". Basically translates to "We're going to boldly charge you double just to use a couple of pointless extra guns and fly a blimp"

Whatever. I will use a trainer and fly that blimp whenever I want. That's of course, you know, in the unlikely event that the PC version doesn't include all these ingame "bonuses" anyway.

Honestly, it's pathetic, sad, and I thought Rockstar was better than this. And I was apparently wrong.

So you had to buy the game for full price, and then pay extra to unlock the full game... making some of it 'dowloadable' doesn't change what they're essentially doing.

Are you going to pre-order the game? I'll understand if people don't want the other editions, but to miss out on not pre-ordering and missing out on bonus content is alittle... confused.gif

It's not like it's at an extra cost.

I'm geting it.

I get the rage about it as well.

I'm mainly in it for the Deposit box, and the hat. But the game stuff is nice as well I guess.

Those are just a few extra outfits, pistols, and mini-missions. they don't detract from the full game experience. You pay extra for extra features. The game still plays perfectly fine without the bonus DLC.

I wonder how some of the GTAforums members would react if they found out you had to trade between Pokemon Red and Blue to get all 151 Pokemon, you couldn't with owning one copy of the game. DLC has been here for years, even on cartridges.

I'm pretty sure I got that stuff in RDR when I got the GOTY edition so all this stuff will be available later on once the rest of the DLC is out.

Now the question is it worth another £25 for a steel case and a map? I think I'll just get the standard edition because I'll be buying the GOTY version when it comes out with all dlc. Not like I need those ability boosters, special cars and weapons straight away.

At first, I was planning on buying the Collector's Edition. But after researching how Rockstar handled DLC for RDR and MP3 (LA Noire was a bit different with cases), it seems Special Edition is the way to go. 20 bucks more for 3 free weapons, new tattoos, new outfits, new stunt plane challenges, a blueprint map and steelbox with artwork seems pretty ok to me. I've def seen a whole lot worse this generation.

But paying 70 dollars more (more than the SE that is) for a deposit bag, a cap, 2 cars, a bike and classic GTA skins seems overkill. Esp when you consider that the DLC will be available on the store later on for 5 bucks or so...10 max (all together).

I think I'm going with SE. Either way, it's still the first time I ever buy a Special Edition, so I'm excited regardless, just a shame the CE is overpriced, it should've been $100-120 imo.
