Honest Bill

It's a greedy move. It's a slap in the face to fans who made this franchise popular in the first place, who can't afford to pay over the odds for their games. Telling the people who helped build their success, buying every single one of their games, "tough sh*t you can't have the whole game."

Classy...

People whining please STFU.

I've Already pre ordered The collectors at my store ^^ First Yessier

Can't Wait to use that bag to school and when working out!

GTA V bag in business school Will surely look good

Why the f*ck should we STFU? Not everybody is rich enough to pay 90$ for the extra - but itchy one if missed - ten percent of the game.

Do you really think these extra bonuses make up for 10% of the game?

  • Special Ability Boost Michael, Franklin and Trevor each have a unique special ability. With this boost, the special ability bar will generate 25% faster. Stunt Plane Trials Single player Stunt Plane Trials let you take on additional aerial challenges spread throughout Los Santos and Blaine County. Bonus Outfits, Tattoos and More Michael, Franklin and Trevor get bonus outfits in their wardrobes, character specific tattoos at tattoo parlors, and special deals from shopkeepers across Los Santos and Blaine County. Additional Weapons When visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer.

These items will not matter for the overall game experience, Non of these "boosts" change how the game was designed, and it will not affect people who buys the regular retail version.

Oh what a coincidence

You all have been begging for DLC for a long time and now that you get something similar, you're angry?

I tried to warn you guys cryani.gif

@OP

It doesn't give a boost, the bar just regenerates faster

It's actually really funny. Everyone should have seen this coming, Rockstar are not assholes. They are running a business.

A similar collectors edition was released with GTA IV, bag included and stuff.

I'm getting the collectors for the bag, map, and all the extra physical items.

Extra in-game DLC, will not matter because the game is already so rich and complete.

I'll probably get the special but the collectors edition is sh*t. They should have included stuff like soundtrack/art work booklet instead of a hat and bag then made it a bit cheaper.

Oh well

Collectors edition could have done with a behind the scenes documentary or something and a few posters.

Digital bonus content isn't what collectors editions should be about.

Honestly, I'm bummed that they did this but I understand. It's to make up for the losses of used games I think. Which is why I don't mind the 'used games fee' Microsoft is implementing. If this fee will stop all these money grubbing, cut content schemes then I'll be glad, but somehow I think it's too late. Companies are probably always going to use this practice no matter what.

Wired: What’s going on with used games? What about borrowed games? There’s a lot of speculation today. Can you clear some of that up? For example, we have multiple Xboxes in my house and trade games all the time. If we have multiple Xbox One consoles, can we still do that?

Harrison: Absolutely, just like you can today. You take the disc, install “the bits” on every machine you have in your house from the same disc, and anybody in your household can play that game. You have exactly the same restrictions that you have today, as in only one of you can play that game at a time because you only have one disc. But anybody in that house… well, the Xbox Live account… it goes for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One, and any user inside that house.

Wired: So as another example, if I took my disc and went to a friend’s house, would I be able to play that game on his machine?

Harrison: Yes, you can. You can take your game around to your friend’s house just as you would today — that’s assuming you have a physical disc — and what we’re doing with the new Live technology is that… with the disc, it’s just a repository for “the bits”. You can put that disc into his drive, you can play the game while you’re there, and then you go home and take that disc with you. But actually, “the bits” are still on his drive. If your friend decides that he really likes to play that game, then he can go buy it instantly, and it doesn’t need to download again. It’s already there. Once he’s paid for it, it’s immediately there.

from that interview with MS it doesn't seem like they are charging for used games

If you buy a used game for the Xbox One, you will have to pay a fee to play it.

Kud, that doesn't confirm that there still isn't a fee anywhere in that interview.

It's a GOOD special edition, but it's so f*cking Activision-like. I don't want to be limited when I buy the game. I'm doing the special edition either way, but still, many huge fans will miss out.

Yeah, it's a real problem. I mean, it works, it definitely works, because now I'm probably going to get the special edition, as well as pre-ordering it, so that I have all the features in the game. So it makes sense why they're doing it. But the principle of the thing is a little messed up. It's exactly the kind of thing we respected R* for not doing. Of all the things that have happened with the wait for GTA V, the tumultuous journey of highs and lows, excitement and disappointment, this is the only thing that's affected my opinion of R* rather than the game itself. Now that sort of "They're old-school developers who are on the gamers' side" respect is gone, or at least tarnished. I still regard them highly as developers of great games, but they're no longer on any higher "moral" (for a lack of a better term) ground than any other developer.
