I'm lucky that i find the map so far great.instead of some people who are crying all night becuz its way to small in their eyes.

Just wait till its complete(the LS part is not even complete)and its zoomed out btw so it also looked smaller.

Some people on this fourm really know how to make a scene, and whine as much as possible.

I don't know maybe I should just avoid the V section because every time somebody has a bit a critcism, they're seen as whiners. I feel like I'm surrounded by eleven year olds who don't respect opinions that are in contrast to theirs.

Some of us wanted a proper Los Angeles knockoff. Not a little half asses 'taste' of it. I'm the guy who wanted a Liberty City sized Los Santos with a better design. This city looks like Algonquin and Dukes & Broker combined. Regarding to structure of the city, it looks kind of silly and unsophisticated.

I think it's just all about expectations... Some people set themselves up for disappointment by expecting just way too much. And of course it's okay to fantasize, and to have dreams. But other people get swallowed up in those dreams and before you know it everybody thinks that dream is reality. Now, I'm not saying that people shouldn't or can't voice their opinion. On the contrary, I love it, and that's what forums are all about. But I think that people need to adjust their expectations and if they are disappointed they don't have to keep screaming about it of the rooftops. Plus the fact that half the people that are moaning/"criticizing" about city size don't even understand important factors such as scale and are malinformed, and will misinform other people aswell.

Some people here need medical attention.

I know right? The map is still large regardless. Besides it may appear small LS, but I assure you it will look quite big once your in game playing cool.gif There's going to be so much to do and it will keep us busy for hours. But honestly will we really use every little street in GTA V? GTA IV there are parts of the city map streets that I have yet to drive on I'm to occupied with other things. And considering how big GTA V map will be I can care less about hardly no streets etc.

GTA gamers love a large map. If you haven't been down a street in GTA IV, then you must have just bought the game. It's not that huge of a map. Granted, yes, there are places in GTA IV I recently discovered, but stairwells in buildings.

We want to get lost in the city with months of exploration. We want sprawling neighborhoods. Rockstar could have sacrificed some rural areas for more city expansion.

Some don't want or care about size of the city but a lot of people do. So when this game drops it may come as a disappointment - size of city (not overall map size).

We all know the overall map will be large, but the city itself looks small.

Savagemessiah

First of all, we haven't even seen the whole map, how do you know that the city it that size when it's not even a complete map? What I mean is that there could be an extencion of the map where the roads ends. It's pretty hard for me to explain how I mean but I hope you're getting my point.

Besides, if you take away all the static buildings in IV that you can't enter then you end up with a tiny map, in V there will possible be more buildings that can be entered, which make the map bigger. We don't know much, there's still much to discover. Take it easy!

I don't really care anyway, I'm just glad if the countryside is bigger but I know the city will be f*cking huge. So far I love what I see.

haven't you guys noticed this area on the atomic blimp new screen: the lake with small island in it

This gives a good scale of the map. If you look in the pic with the blimp, the little road looks like it has room to build atleast EIGHT houses around the cul-de-sac.

Half of you idiots shouldn't even be called GTA fans. Every time Rockstar does something you all find something to complain about.

We haven't seen all of the map yet. Where's Blaine county? Where's that huge ass lake? Where's mt. chilliad? Where is the military base? Where is sandy shores? Where is the desert? Who the f*ck knows because we can't see it!

Also, we don't know the scale of the map.

Some of the criticisms are valid. Nothing wrong with criticism. Criticism is different from complaining.

I understand many of the users here are either young and/or have a hard time with critical thought, and/or, are folks who want everything to be happy, so they chant the usual moronic parroted counter-criticisms such as:

"Oh my god, does nobody understand this isn't the full map? The only thing that's a little dissappointing to me is there isn't much roads, but like I said, this isn't the full map. I ain't worried about it"

or,

"im still amazed at how some idiots thought that a rel-life city-scale is possible in a videogame like Grand Thfet Auto."

1. We all know the overall map size will be large, but we are just criticizing the city area, NOT the overall map size.

2. NO ONE expects the map to be real life scale. This is just dumb.

I think those are complaining about criticisms are the ones who need to relax.

Franklyn's area looks too small. biggrin.gif

What are people complaining about? That's just the city and it looks bigger than the whole of San Andreas.

What have you been smoking? Los Santos is only a fraction of the size of San Andreas, and people have even been able to compare the original LS to it.

icon14.gif Ya you can tell the city is huge. Just by seeing that the suburbs is just a very very VERY small portion of city on the map, but in the pic it looks decent "big" like it takes up alot of space, but it's not showing that on the map only a; and i quote "Portion" of the map. That alone will tell you how big the city really is. monocle.gif

Load up the SA map and compare it to what we have here.

You people need to chill the f*ck out, seriously. dozingoff.gif Were most of you actually expecting the city to be larger than LC? Even though we were going to get a countryside and underwater area like what we've seen? You must be insane. LS will be fine and your all over reacting. In the end you'll still buy the damn game, so save your breath and don't bother. sarcasm.gif

That said, the blue print does make the city seem smaller, but when I see the city in game, it seems to be just as big (more or less) as LC, so am I going to believe a blueprint or what I see in game? Uhhhh, I'm going to believe what I see in game. I'm pretty sure LS won't be as small as it looks in that blueprint.

shows the scale of the city. Its a bit weird though. this small circle has alot of houses in it and looks pretty small on the map. but then there are even less "blocks" than in GTA4

Can't believe I doubted R* biggrin.gif

The screenshots sicken me. The screenshots used to be presented to show the beauty of the game. Now, it's to promote these half assed percs for buying the CE.

I feel stupid for still thinking las venturas is in the game...

I'm content with the size.

What really grinds my gears is that September isn't here yet.

I wonder what this is...

Some kind of (NASCAR) race track or a landing area for the blimps?

OMG! I hope it IS a Nascar type of racetrack! Holy crap! This would be AWESOME, especially in multiplayer!

I was thinking horse race track. There seems to be only grass inside the oval, no asphalt or buildings for Nascar pits. Then again, are horse race tracks 3 blocks in length?

Anyway, we'll probably be able to drive there. Hype increased.

It may be the Los Santos equivalent of the Irwindale Speedway.

johnny_zoo

I for one am not disappointed whatsoever.

The LS area is clearly bigger than Liberty City and thats just Los Santos. How do you people not realise its QUALITY not square miles. You want the city to be bigger? OK Rockstar could add more blocks if they wanted but what the hell would you do there apart from see the same homes block to block. That would be boring. If Rockstar have made LS smaller to accomodate for more interesting interactive areas then Im all for it.

Brilliant, listen to this man.

If anyone is complaining about the size of the map. Look at this:

Shows just how big this map could be. If you try imagine 3.5x red dead redemption maps fitting inside that you will know this map is absolutely f*cking huge.

Now stop complaining.
