I really want to see the map its really the only thing left what i want to see before the release.

Well at least we know it's way bigger than expected now.

Yes we do. Even in the mapping thread, it is basically confirmed to be 49 sq miles. Until Rockstar themselves confirm it, it is trusted to be true.

Remember, we've already "seen" the map. Fido etc.. all have a good arrangement for the map, the only difference will be SCALE.

It's not as if they've got the size wrong... remember it's all about perspective.

 

The size and shape we know.... but scale is clearly off

 

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Everything is spot on by the talented mappers, but it's the mileage they got wrong, it's twice as big.

Guys you can't tell the size from looking at a blueprint with no sense of scale given. Look at the screen shots. The city looks huge. If you compacted all of Liberty City's islands together I bet they are close to the same size. On top of that the city is only 1/4 of the whole map. We won't truly see how massive it is until we play it.

And The Scotsman was likely wrong. They weren't right about the bridge either so why would they be about the square mileage? 49 square kilometers is exactly 3.5 times RDR. 49 square miles is not close to any of the comparisons made by Rockstar. It is not 5 times RDR, it is not GTA 4 + GTA SA and RDR either.

 

Sorry, but newspapers are generally not very trustworthy when it comes to figures like that. Without them telling how they actually got that number I don't believe it to be true considering all of the above.

You claimed the map is twice as big as the mappers had it. It's not. The land area is the same as it was. Nothing has changed.

Now we've all had plenty of time to explore the map do you think that this map is as big as GTA IV, San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption put together (like the rumour said)?

 

I've seen some of those maps which claim to overlay GTA IV on to the GTA V map but without a proper scale on the GTA IV map it's just an educated guess. Don't get me wrong the map is absolutely amazing but from the above rumour I had thought it would be bigger (perhaps unrealistically!).

 

What do you reckon?
