That quoted map blueprint and "to scale" LC map is just off... Look at the distances between streets at the LS map and then on LC map, and then look at how huge buildings, lets say the middle island had. LS doesn't have such buildings, you can see that from every picture. Also, the streets are so wide in the LS map, and when you look at the LC map they are shown, when you look at the scaling done there, so small. But as you may remember, the streets in LC were very wide mostly, the main streets had about 2-3 lanes. I just cant agree that LC is so small compared to LS. I mean, even from the pictures, LS looks much smaller than LC. LS is more widespread, but still not as big as LC. All the pictures from a upper view tell that.

let's assume a comparison between mt chilliad in SA and now! if it was huge before, now has much more complexity!

Which part of the map is this mountain range located? I haven't seen this thing since the first trailer (mind you, I haven't read the entire mapping LS thread).

Nope, to my knowledge trailer 1 is the only view of it we have had. monocle.gif

And possibly this shot but who knows...(Taking a guess because of the real jagged looking

rocks)

wish they did what gta 3 lcs and rdr did with unviewable land going off into the distance, I personally like that rather than being surrounded by water on all fronts. Also hope the scale is better than what it appears to be because that doesn't seem like too much of city area which I prefer to the wilds

Hmm, the fact that they've been able to hide such a massive object for this long is pretty interesting. I wonder where it is?

It's gotta be big. Just look at these 2 screenshots

If you look at the second image. You will be able to see the Golden Gate Bridge from a far distance.

That gives you a clue to what the draw distance is like and how big the map is.

It may look small but i've been told the full-game map is 49 Square meters. Pretty big and long if you think about it.

the 49-square-mile world boasts a welter of activities, such as scuba diving with sharks and hijacking trains.

Hmm, interesting if that is indeed correct. Over 20 more sq.miles than people expected. :monocle:

But how do we know it's reliable and if they aren't talking out of their ass?

It's a reputable Scotland journalism site.

Aye right....only if you're a Unionist Tory.

Also they stated that the Forth Road Bridge will be in GTA V - mixing their facts up with GTA San Andreas.

Read the full article and they haven't spoken to anyone from R* directly - Aaron Garbut's quote is from CVG a few weeks back.

Sloppy Journalism.

My mistake. Don't know why I figured they talked to R* North. Well, 25 or 49 sq mile map...I'm satisfied either way.

The thing is, 49 is perhaps some random estimate they've come up with on their on terms... their own guestimations.

Or somehow, somewhere, the scale of the game has gone wrong in the mapping thread.

To be almost double is a big difference though

49 square miles are 78.85 square km if anyone wondered.

That's massive. Was there previously mentioned anything else other than bigger than IV, SA and RDR combined?

Anyway... was an interesting read. Should read it...

- Players are able to use Marijuana. (I know we've seen marijuana shops and stuff but was it ever really confirmed?)

- Real gang members as voice acting.

- one of the vast bridges in the game’s world is a replica of the Forth Road Bridge.

Just a couple of things I haven't heard before.

What's this? The guy just tweeted it was rockstar who told them it's 49 sq miles, but apparently that's the minimum and it could be more!

Whoa, for real? Goddammit, now I really want to see the map.

Kingification

Why is everybody so shocked? Rockstar have already said that it's bigger than "Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and IV" combined - together, that comes to about 47 sq. miles. I think the mappers, as impressive as they are, got their scales wrong.

Remember, we've already "seen" the map. Fido etc.. all have a good arrangement for the map, the only difference will be SCALE.

It's not as if they've got the size wrong... remember it's all about perspective.

The size and shape we know.... but scale is clearly off

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Everything is spot on by the talented mappers, but it's the mileage they got wrong, it's twice as big.

Dangit... you only think it's small because it's compared and we still have no clue of the scale... just wait until you drive through LS and you'll be amzaed of the BIG SIZE!

Dangit flamers always can cry about something.

I really want to see the map its really the only thing left what i want to see before the release.

Well at least we know it's way bigger than expected now.

Mate, it's nothing new... we are like before. We don't know anything new.

"If you look at the second image. You will be able to see the Golden Gate Bridge from a far distance."

Really.. Why do so many people think it's the golden gate bridge? It's the Vincent Thomas bridge, it's a real suspension bridge ,leading to the port area of Los Angeles, honestly guys.
